    Praying for my discernment partner as the Lord is probably working on him too right about now.

    I feel it is FAAAR better to be alone than in a terrible marriage. I know from experience from my previous marriage. My peace is worth far more than someone to sleep next to or have sex with. Now that I'm in a beautiful, loving marriage it's amazing and I'm grateful for that. But I'd never sacrifice my joy and peace just to have a man. I hope the woman in this interview who said it's worse to be alone than in a terrible marriage mistakenly said that backwards

    Wow out the gate this convicted me . And hits home as I’m a nurse . Wow . I been in a mental war over this for a while . God really led me to this and I know he’s been hearing my prayers and this really streamlined everything for me . I felt like no one understood how I was feeling and to hear someone in my career make that decision is just something I really really needed at this time.

    what a eye opening discussion, im still single waiting on God if marriage is part of His plan for me. Its true the idea of submission in marriage can be scary especially if you have been single for a long time and you get used to rely on yourself and what you discussed today helps me a lot whether I will be married or not I know now that God wants me to submit to Him first. Thank you for sharing this :)

    Colossians 3:23:24..."And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."
    If you have an issue with submission because it resulted in abuses before, remember what Paul wrote above. Then take it to the Lord in prayer, asking Him to show you what He means by submission. God does not expect a person who suffered abuse under submission previously, to embody submission without crippling fear.
    The Lord knows your heart needs to be healed from a relationship with Him, before you can apply any scripture without it causing more damage, caused by others. If you fear submission, and you know God's word says it's a good thing - then bring it to the Lord to heal. Don't expect your willpower to hold scriptural ground, when you've been hurt before. You don't need to, when Jesus promised to become the healing balm to your heart. Invite Him in. Ask The Lord to show you, how. He is not slow to answer.

    Wow that is really something to give up a nursing career, especially after paying and going to school for 4 years. I would feel like I wasted all that money and time. But if it is better for the relationship, and what God wants, in the end it is the best decision. I don't think I could work with my husband, we clash too much. We worked together for 4 months years ago doing housecleaning and I was like nope this isn't gonna work, not for us. So he went and got a job and I remained housecleaning. We have been married 40 years this year and I have learned that we just don't agree on everything and it's ok, he can have his ideas and I can have my own, it's ok to disagree on things or not always see eye to eye.

    I think love and respect is easily understandable than the word submit that causes women to run!! Teach em to respect and be agreeable or yielding and in return he wud love u and go above and beyond for u his wife and even give u more than wat u lost in submission. I remember a nurse that makes her husbands lunch everyday . And I asked why do u always do that ? Y can’t he make his lunch or buy lunch himself? She told me when u allow him make his lunch n do all the things u supposed to do for ur husband, ur giving ur power away. There’s power in submission. If he learns to cope without u then u lose ur place or value as ur no longer his helper. if anything happens he wud miss u dearly and won’t be able to do away with u as fast.

      I'm sorry you're in this situation. I think your move to get into full time employment is a positive one and will be empowering for you to know that if it comes to a decision, you can take care of yourself and your son. Probably very confusing and super hard to hear clearly from God so I would pray and ask for guidance BUT still act. I'd also suggest not discussing your thoughts on your marriage with your son especially if you are very much back and forth in your mind. He will be finding this more stressful than you realise so take it to an adult friend. If you have access to women's aid type helpline, give them a call. They don't mind how many times you call. They won't rush you to a decision. Start to build towards a place of emotional safety. You'll be ok.

      Ruth does he get violent or is it more he’s just irritable and angry? If he gets violent then please separate and tell him you both need counseling. If he’s willing to go to counseling and stay in counseling then that’s one thing but if he’s not willing then stay separated. Yours and your sons safety is utmost. God does not call us to live in abuse. If he’s just irritable and angry then fast and pray and when the time is right discuss it with your husband. Do what you can to help your finances when they are tight? Cook from scratch? Do low cost activities like the library reading program for kids? How old is your son?

    I also think that men need respect and women need love. If women submit and respect their husband's and men love their wives so much as christ loved the church, each individual gets what they need. Then submitting yourself to each other is just respect and love for one another

  • @willarolen7581

    Are women supposed to be looking for a man? No! I thought that when a man finds a wife, he finds a good thing. I do not agree with women looking for men. God already knows who he has for you, He doesn't need you to look, He just needs you and I to be submitted to Him. The Holy Spirit said, "Even though you are two strong head people (power heads), the wife still needs to know her place in the marriage. We don't need another Juanita Bynum situation. It's God, Christ, Man, and Woman, and everyone else comes after that order.

    It's important to separate cultural preferences from biblical principles. In the middle east, cultural preferences put most women in the hijab but principles in the Qur'an don't necessarily enforce this. Similarly, Bible belt hospitality and matriarchal preferences aren't necessarily enforceable by true readings of biblical text. Christians should refrain from prescribing godly behaviour on the basis of gender. I've known several DV cases in churches I've attended over the years, not helped by submission messaging. Until you can guarantee every listener's safety, Church , leave this topic alone. Mature people will behave accordingly to manage their marriages.

      ??? Did you listen to this whole message?
      And leaving this topic alone won’t make it not exist in marriages! Which is why they are saying both men and women need to know and understand exactly what God asks of them in a marriage or relationships!

    • @lollian2782
      @lollian2782 Год назад +4

      @@Va-WaBwanaYesu unfortunately Women are more susceptible to "wives submit to your husband's" than men are to "love your wife like Christ loves the church. Often men aren't in church to hear their part. So it just ends up as "women submit". Women live to tell other women to be subservient and I always question the motives behind that. It can get a bit Handmaid's Tale in the messaging. Women are key in church growth demographics and family church dynamics so I understand why churches want to reinforce women submitting to whatever keeps them in church but I wish they could find another way.
