I bought z6II the moment it came out and bought with it z50 mm 1.8. And to this day it keeps surprising me how good of a lens it is. It’s just so good. IT’S JUST SO DAMN GOOD. I am not a fan of Sony cameras, but if Canon had fantastic and extremely good budget friendly 1.8 lenses like Nikon 1.8 S lines then I would have switched to Canon.
Shocking results with that z50 50mm F/1.8 S lens. For everyone talking about how obsolete the sensor is each time I use that little camera I wonder what sensor they're looking at. I kind of feel like that is the sweet spot for APS-C.
That is a sharp lens that's affordable. Nikosn is redeeming themselves with the continued Z9 firmware updates but for photos I love my A7RIVa BUT only G-Master lenses work great so for example the 3rd party Tamron 35-150 f2-2.8 misses focus like 20% of the time because resolving focus on 61MP takes a lot of overhead. When the Z9 MK II comes out maybe I'll grab the older body and try Nikon again. I used to love Nikon but they didn't include IBIS in their entry bodies and the prices for the ones that did didn;t have the higher resolutions that I was wanting at the higher price point.

I went from A7RV to Z8 and no regrets.
50mm 1.4 was released right after I purchased 1.8 S, If it was today I would have picked 1.4 my friend has this also it is sharp and bokeh is good.
