I've been using my two for years. For some reason people respond really well to this camera. They don't mind having their picture taken.

i paired my GF1 with Oly 25mm 1.8, it's lightweight, good image quality, good color. love them to bits!

I got a good condition black GF1 with a Mk I version of the 20mm f1.7 Lumix lens for US $100.00 about a year ago. I was impressed with both the very small size and the reassuringly solid feed of this camera. It fits in very well with my collection of Olympus PEN bodies and is a joy to carry.

I still have my original red GF1 from 2010. Back then it cost 760 euros with the 20mm lens, and the electronic viewfinder was an additional 200 euros. They were all made in Japan, so that might contribute to the build quality.
I hope Panasonic could refresh their smaller camera body lineup. The S9 would have been nice as a M43 product.

Still love to use my GF1 combined with 12-32mm lens. Compact & lightweight, love that the lens have to retracted manually, so I can have the camera with the focal length that I want & turn on the camera and shot instantly. Love how the on off switch easily reached when I do waist shot.

I've had a couple of these and they feel properly robust! I liked the sensible on-off switch and the ability to control the self-timer from a switch on the top plate. The accessory EVF is not great - really low resolution but at least it tilts! I ended-up selling both of my GF1s and moved to the GX1.

ive got the gf1 in black with view finder which i find is very good in bright sunlight. i have a 14mm prime, 14-42 and 45-200 panasonic lenses. small light and takes great photos. im just bidding on a 25mm prime to complete my set up. great review thanks.

I just purchased a black version. Waiting for it to arrive. I’ll have to decide on the lens.

I have the viewfinder which is a very low resolution but i use it all the time because the screen is almost unusuable in strong sunlight. It maybe sounds silly but on base iso this camera is my favourite from any mft cameras which i used and used a many. But this is a daylight camera because with any increase of iso the image quality decreases significantly. I think the battery life suprisingly good. I havent measured it but once i shot 400 pictures and it still showed 2 bars out of the 4. I really love this camera and use it a lot even though i have a gx9, gm5 and em5 mark iii.

Itś a great little camera, all metal except the top plate. I have had two for the last 15 years in daily use.
Shooting manual the rear scroll wheel is clickable for ss/aperture, in A-mode aperture and exposure comp.
I have the viewfinder but do not use it, I use an optical voigtlander instead with the 20mm lens, on the other GF! equipped with the 14/2,5 (both mkI) I just
put an spiritlevel gauge. Fantastic cameras build to last. Happy shooting with your new camera. Regards Ulf

These older entry level rangefinder style M43 cameras are great! They are sturdy and have all the needed features with no fluff. Similar to the GF1, I have the GF3 and have found it very capable. Paired with the 20mm f1.7 or the 12-32 f3.5-5.6 its small, easy to carry and takes amazing pics. Enjoy the new, old camera!

Which aftermarket camera batteries do you like? I have ordered a couple of Kastar brand with chargers but undecided on quality.

I have a black GF2 and I pair it with the 24mm pancake lens. Great content, if you like the GF1 you will defiantly enjoy the GX1 about the same size bigger sensor and more manual controls. The GM1 is another fan favorite you might want to check out.

You can shoot in M manual mode ! You don't have to use A mode if you prefer M mode....

Preciate your humble take on this camera. Do you feel the burst mode will limit you in any way? Do you find the autofocus adequate?

I don't really use burst mode that much - so it shouldn't be an issue :)

    I bought one about 4 month's ago I also have a gx7 and a G80, I put the Panasonic 25mm f1.7 on and focus is a bit quicker than the 20mm.

Why not use your panaleica 15mm? then you’ll get aperture control on the front!
I’ve got the gf2 and tried pairing it with ttartisans bodycap lens, but it caused “red shift” in the corner of the images - a phenomena I’d not heard of before (look it up). It’s a pity, as it would have been a super compact setup.
