Makes me think of the Peak Design backpacks - but with better shoulder straps and vastly different internal org. Love all the different pockets. I think the CTB26 from Evergoods would also be a good alternative.
I use one daily. I wanted something that was pretty rugged as I tend to wear out cheaper back packs. My tech hauling with it is actually pretty minimal. Mainly art supplies to be honest. My only downside with it in hindsight is as a daily driver its a little on the heavy side. The biggest plus for me though is the weatherproof aspect. In driving rain, sleet and snow my contents stay completely dry.
@@JBOutside1 I can't imagine using the lidless one. It's that little extra protection that I have come to like especially in the rain. I wonder how much weight you lose on the lidless version.
Do you know the dimension of the main compartment bottom of the Mous backpack? Trying to figure out if I can fit my lunch boxes in there in order to have it as my daily commute backpack. Thanks
Unfortunately, not. Total depth of the bag (170mm), depth of the tech compartment (30mm) but not depth of the main compartment. 140mm left, but I'm not sure how much of that is taken up by the material and padding.
Disclaimer: it depends on the airline and airport. As I travel around as an airline pilot I see differences in how those rules are applied. While I think you’ll have good luck routinely traveling with this there’s a chance someone will give your grief. But this is true of any larger backpack really. Best advice is to research your chosen airline and compare the specs to what they limit.
They have a version without the lid. I'd really appreciate a review of the backpack without the lid, but the 18L one. Everyone on RUclips has done the 25L backpack with lid. Not a single review on the 18L
@@JBOutside1 I hope to see you do a review on that if that's possible. As I can't decide on which to get. The one without the lid does look better but I need to see the 18L and then you can compare it with your 25L
@@mohammedfaiisalI heard from somewhere there there are big differences between the two, notably the lack of grab handle, key strap pocket, fewer compartments, lack of aerofoam on the bottom of the tech compartment
@@chrischoy9 I think I said exactly that on either this channel or another channel. It's missing all that, plus the sternum strap and you're paying similar price. £30 less because its smaller. I genuinely mean this but even by mous expensive standards, the backpack being priced at £149 which is £80 off, would feel too high but would be more worth it. To me, the £249 is justifiable because of the competition and a lot of stuff you're getting with the backpack. But, the 18L, not only shouldn't be priced at £219, but even £149 would be expensive and unjustifiable. Mous charge £99 just for a sleeve, so looking at that, if mous charged £119 for this backpack, it would make more sense. But, that sleeve should be £79 for 16 inch and £69 for the 14 inch. It's overpriced. Their case price is fine. They should also price the 18L backpack at £99 max. Because its the only major mous product that does not protect your tech. Waterproof is great, but it's the drop protection that's the main selling point and the 18L has no drop protection. It probably still protects it better than most of the competition. But, it's missing their key selling feature. The airofoam. That's ridiculous. I bought the 25L a month ago when it was priced at £200, down from £250. But, I paid £160 with extra 20% off and they sent me the 18L by mistake and I noticed just what was missing, like even an umbrella/bottle pocket inside the backpack was missing. 25L having tablet pocket and smaller 18L not having that either. Why are mous, a company known for protecting your equipment, selling a backpack that does not protect it, but charge a premium price? Its ridiculous. I argued with mous and they ended up giving me a 50% refund which made my total purchase to £80. So that's roughly a good deal you would think, but I did not want to keep the backpack because its not that comfortable and I was still upset with the missing compartments and protection, so I ended up selling it for £180, the guy who bought it knew what he was buying and what was missing, so I didn't rip him off and he said he almost paid £220 retail but then came across mine on gumtree. So I made £100 profit and now I'm looking for another backpack that has a few extra compartments, including extra tablet pocket, as well as the laptop pocket. Tomtoc and aer are decent but I want a backpack where the height of the backpack maxes out at 45cm and the width does not go beyond 30cm. Depth needs to be small too, but expandable. So that it's small when empty and a little big when full. Big, not bulky looking. One thing I didn't like about the mous backpack was, that it remained big and bulky, empty or full. Nomads nation is making his own backpack but he's going to charge a super premium price though. Somewhere in the region of £180-£280. But, since he's adding all the best features from a lot of companies, except for waterproof and protection level of mous 25L probably. I think £180-£280 would be justifiable. Expensive, but justifiable. But my budget for a new backpack is £150, even though I have received £100 profit Bottomline is, no one should buy the 18L backpack. It may be smaller and more comfortable than the 25L. The 25L just offers way more. I just hope mous can make an every day backpack that's expandable in size and does not remain bulky, even when it's empty. If they can do that and charge a reasonable price, I could look into getting that. Nomads nations backpack, won't be available until toward the last quarter of this year. But, I need a backpack now. Came close to buying venture 22L from bellroy for about £99 down from £129 that was down from like £200+ but apparently the shoulder straps get loose to easily and are not strong. It's also like 48cm in height which is a little extra for me. The laptop compartment is not seperate too from the main compartment, so that was a shame too. If you have any suggestions, let me know
I would say no-definitely needs to be propped up in my experience after a few weeks of use. I’ve got mine packed out pretty full and it just rolls backwards.

Yes! 😎
