    This is one seriously well thought out backpack.
    Originally thought it was perhaps a Peak Design knockoff, but I actually think it surpasses it in usability and versatility, especially for those that are not strictly photographers.
    It seems also to be comparatively priced, which is to say equally overpriced.. lol..

    This was a really helpful video to find. I've just got a Mous backpack ahead of starting my new job that involves a lot of tech and travel - wanted something smart, versatile, that would offer protection, and can't deny Moss's marketing has gotten to me. But receiving it, I genuinely couldn't find half of the pockets, and was thinking, is it protecting stuff so much that you have to put everything on the inside, under that big lid!!?? No, as it turns out. So after watching this, I feel more informed about my purchase, and have seen some more comparisons than I was aware of before, that make me feel confident in this purchase. It's so well made, I think the most rugged backpack I've ever owned, with only the exception of my 90L Osprey hiking pack; but that's a complete different use case to this, and Osprey's efforts to make consumer/commuter stuff, just aren't smart enough for my aesthetic. Thanks for making some great content.

    Great review as always, Danny! Not my cup of tea, but it's always fun to see new backpacks. I do agree with that lid thing, it seems a bit overkill considering there's zippers underneath. I prefer the zippers to a cinch opening though.

      A lot of other factors go into whether you're a viable target for a mugging.

    • @matthewsmatters
      @matthewsmatters Год назад

      A good point. But there's so many conventional 'designer' bags out there too. I was looking at House of Fraser and John Lewis stuff before settling on Mous. You're paying more for so many designer brands, than this, and the features, versatility, that they offer, is pants. Wear anything nice and you could be perceived as a mugging target. At least with this thing, your stuff won't get smashed up if you have to do a runner or it gets dropped somehow. Swings and roundabouts.

    • @ArtaghVril
      @ArtaghVril 8 месяцев назад

      Yeah, but that's the genral issue with many modern backpacks and living or working in big cities: they're getting more and more expensive and people are buying them and every little mugger knows those popular brands. In my case e.g. I just use good but ordinary backpacks like MilTec Cooperpacks or North Face Jester etc. They have a laptop compartment too, are very sturdy and nobody guesses you could have equipment in it worth hundreds or thousands. They think you have your smelly sport socks or your school books in it and nobody want's to steal that 😅😅

    Hi Danny. Great and only review of this backpack! I'm just having a little concern about this bag's material on the sides and bottom. It doesn't seem to be using waterproof material as at the front. Will it be safe in a very heavy rain?

    • @matthewsmatters
      @matthewsmatters Год назад

      Having just got mine, and being used to the weather in Scotland, can honestly say that I've never owned a backpack that feels as water resistant as this one does. The tests Mous have done look pretty convincing in the marketing. Of course, they are probably aiming the power spray at the most waterproof surfaces, which will be the same surfaces most exposed (top and back) when wearing and walking with this thing. If you'd be outside for an extended period, common sense would suggest, having a rain cover as well. But, from where I stand, I feel very confident about this thing. Hope the thoughts are helpful.

    looking for a one pack that can serve as an EDC while sometimes caring some gear (laptop, tablet, drone, camera...) minimal traveling and the occasional hike while I'm traveling..
    my top 2 contenders are Aer travel pack 3 and
    Able carry max.
    be happy to hear you take on that.. and if you have any other suggestions tnx

    • @dannypacks
      @dannypacks  Год назад +1

      Thank you for watching! The aer and able carry are both really solid options, I prefer the travel pack 3 small for edc and minimal travel and the larger travel pack for longer trips and I like the size of the travel pack small a little more than the able carry. The able carry is really good and might be better if you prefer a simpler layout. Some other options that might be worth considering are the goruck gr2 26l, Patagonia mini MLC, evergoods cpl24 or 28 or maybe even something like the knack pack or nomatic travel pack

I’m hoping to be able to review the v2 in the next few months, compared to the v1 it is a little bulkier / heavier and has more pocketing and weather resistance so if you need the additional protection and don’t mind the weight it’s a great alternative and the dayfarer will be a better option if you are looking for something a little simpler and sleek that also has a separate shoe compartment for gym use
