I feel you. Motorcycles are my thing too, I have several but life takes over. I still ride for mental health. But it's good to reasses and change direction. Keeps life moving forward. good luck in whatever you decide is next.

I have had many chapters like your Harley-wheelie chapter that have gone the same route. As we mature we tend to see things in a different light and those things we once seen as important no longer warrant being on our list of priorities. I put aside my street machines to ride MX with my sons. I let go of my stock cars to be able to spend more money and time with all of my kids. My daughters never got into the MX scene but they liked 4 wheelers and the Go-Karts so it was still fun stuff.
Sports, martial arts, skating, BMX freestyle, you name it if they wanted to try it then it became a family event. Don't think that you abandoned anything because you chose to realign your time with a growing family; look at it more like you put it on hold until you can pass the torch. I wouldn't sell your Dyna if it were me, I would keep it around for when the itch needs scratching and then when the time came, I would pass it on to my kid. You can be passionate about family and when the timing is right share your pass-time passion with them as well. The beauty of 2 wheeled motorsports is that they are gender neutral and family friendly. I know several families that all ride and play in the dirt together and when the children get old enough I know they will ride together on the streets as well. The best MC to be a part of is your own family made one because there is no pack greater than your wife and children. Just my opinion.

I think you are quite good, advanced even, in your ability to wheelie a big, heavy, Harley,
but honestly, I`m more impressed with your mindset & maturity in your priorities in putting your family ahead of an adolescent dream.
A great dream, don`t get me wrong...that you have made a reality!
    Good on You.

I watch your channel, because you seem like a guy I would be friends with and hangout and talk bikes, not because of the stunts. There is a lot of good content to be made that does not require stunts. A change is not bad, it will be what you make it. Keep an open mind, stay humble and chill, and your channel will continue to grow. We will be watching. :)

I started on the street and walked away from harleys learned to ride offroad recently cam back to harley and still ride offroad as well but not fully immersed in either. You are so talented I think u should think long and hard about selling ur dyna. They are very hard to replace. Just park it and forget u own it. I guarantee you'll wanna do it again!

Wheelies on heavy street bikes really impress me. My only experience doing wheelies was on a 250 2 stroke dirt bike in a field 23 years ago. It was also my first experience on a motorcycle. Accidental wheelies, power wheelies with ease. I wasn’t bringing the front wheel all the way up but wow was that fun until I almost dumped it and freaked myself out. Got my first street bike that year.

I used to do hard Enduro singletrack with a wr250r I had got to the point where it just consumed too much time and me and a buddy realized that we had just as much fun if not more on a mountain bike plus got our exercise in less maintenance less cost and got to slow down and smell the roses . So yeah passions change often times for the better

I can relate to this pretty well. In 2021 I completed in a powerlifting competition where I finally squatted 500 at 175 pounds. A goal I was chasing for a while. Afterwards I set other goals like benching 400 where my previous max was 365, but I haven't been able to stay consistent enough in the gym to keep up with that level of athleticism. Trying to juggle time with friends and family and riding, just makes it seem like working out for 2 hours 4x a week is getting in the way. Not totally ready to give up on powerlifting but at the same time I feel like I have other interests that I want to invest more time in. Like learning to wheelie my grom and dyna. Happy for your growth man, some people never experience that and it's something to be proud of.

I found this channel years ago when I was looking to buy my sportster 72. And continued watching for years. When you bought your fxdls, I knew that was the next bike I wanted. I eventually picked one up and built it the way I wanted. This channel has always influenced me, and I've always enjoyed it. I understand as we get older, our interest changes and other hobbies get put on backburners, it's happens to me all the time. I wish you the best bro and I hope you have fun on your mtb journey. 🤘🤘🤘

I've ridden motorcycles since I was 11yrs old. At one point that's all I wanted to do, racing motorcycles and so on. But once I had my kids I realized that I needed to be a father first and motorcycle racer second. Sometimes life steps in and changes our priorities, started a business then a second one. Once my kids were grown I figured I'd get back into it, but I just didn't have the desire. I still ride but now it's for the fun, to be honest I don't really miss it either. I have more fun with my wife is on the back and we're just riding around town. I hit the track from time to time just to refresh my skills, other than that I'm good.

Life happens, we get a few years older, priorities and obligations change. At least you're able to recognize your priorities, there's a ton of dudes out there who are diehards and the family takes a back seat. I used to flip bikes and classic cars/trucks all the time, now I just want to chill on my time off, or ride my KLR off road which has less than half the power of my FXLRS. Still have a blast and commute on 2 wheels. But got older and would like to enjoy something other than working all the time

He was an og angel, went to Sonny’s funeral and kinda of reverted back to his club life but was to sick and weak to do the things he was in the 60s. Loved the stories of the power and respect they had back then. True og rip

Just because you can fails to make it a good idea. The Harley lube system is marginal in the first place, but when you bring the bike up like that, what little lubrication you HAD, notice I said HAD, is gone. Simply drag out a manual and look at how the Lube on a Sportster and you find that you are pulling the oil away from the pick-up. Once the tank is drained, after a short period of time, there is no oil being moved as all of it is in the transmission area and all you get for lubrication is splash from the transmission gears to the crankshaft, notice that the top end, camshaft and such are DRY.

I am just getting back into riding and I'd be lying if I wasn't envious of seeing all the highway wheelies, but I'm 54 now and I'm 99.9% certain I will never ride like that. It's a young man's game for the most part, unless you've been consistently doing it over the years, but I understand that it's just passions change.

Our plan is not always Gods plan. That bike ride looked like a nice mental break. Beautiful day without a ton of traffic. Love your videos and your honesty. At 25 I had to put my riding days behind and focus on my wife and kids. I’m now 49 ( and holding 😅) and your videos are part of what got me back on two wheels. So the wheelies were cool but not what made me subscribe to your channel. ✌️
