I understand tho because you don't need to rely on having a RUclips channel to support your lifestyle but I am sad that this channel died. Good luck in all of your endeavors sir it was nice nice while it lasted.
Times are MUCH tougher these days with the "basic costs of life" having skyrocketed the last few years. People are cash strapped and have cut way back in their discretionary spending, far greater than I remember during the 2001 and 2008 financial crashes. Inflation has hit us all hard and I strongly suspect it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better. I rarely go out to eat anymore, let alone think of new motorized toys to buy. Most everyone I know that is not upper middle class has eliminated most (if not all) discretionary spending. I wish you luck / success in moving your buddies Motorcycle.

Man your channel inspired me to go out and buy a 2014 CB1100 exactly like the one you had, got it for a steal after looking for months found one for 4K with only 4800 miles on it and there’s not a thing wrong with it. It awakened my passion again for riding. I’m 28, owned numerous motorcycles of different types and loved them all my life. I feel like with a lot of things in life it’s easy to loose interest and motivation sometimes in the things we were once passionate about but all we can do is take it in strides. Things always seem to ebb and flow when it comes to hobbies/ passions but all it takes someone or some thing to reignite it. Don’t give up on the channel man, love your content! Not sure if you’d be interested but perhaps you could make a “how to” video on buying/flipping bikes? Not very many types of those videos on here so it make for some different unique content!
I worked at a Harley Dealership for 2 years in the service/parts department and I literally got to the point that I didn’t want to even see a motorcycle, much less ride mine. I left 6 months ago and still struggle to want to ride my bike. I’m hoping this feeling goes away soon but I would have thought it would have been gone by now. It’s just about peak riding season where I am. I just need to go out all day into the country and hills and stop at a Mom and Pop diner and just try and recapture why we ride bikes in the first place.
You can sell a bike, a car, a boat, even a plane to someone without a license. You just can’t let them drive it off your lot as a dealer. Be honest, the vast majority of riders didn’t get their license until after they bought their first bike.
Hear yah bro. I was flipping back in 18-19 when you were as well. Now I am retired from military and working second job. Zero motivation to do so anymore. Now I buy one bike every 4-5 months and work on it in my spare time and then sell. It is still fun to restore neglected FXR or Dynas (still hotter market), especially now that I don't really HAVE to.
Super soft market too. Bad time to be a seller. It would be a good time to be a buyer but with a lot of boomers quitting riding the market is getting flooded.
I think CFMOTOs are going to be tough to sell used no matter what. People still don't know what their long term reliability and dealer support will be.
I know what you mean. I'm in PHX and just sold a bike for only a $200 gain. Got tired of looking at it and dealing with people. It's become a lot harder to sell over the last year.
In the UK. Had an XJR1300 on Ebay/Autotrader for 3 months. New service, tyres, chain and sprockets, the works. It's not the season, but haven't had a single call. Maybe I'll just keep it...
I just found your channel and that video about 10 things for noobs. Shoelaces, turn signal still on, rear brake for gravel at first... MSF BRC didn't expressly mention that in the beginning material (that I know of), that stuff seems kind of important. I subbed on that alone, but you have other great videos, this is my third. I'm just now finding you, so you are kind of still growing in a sense.
I told my girl I should sell my bike back when the market was hot. 2021-2023 Then the moment she finally says I should sell it. (This past year) I have struggled to sell it. People were posting dynas for 14k as I have it now. And I have dropped it to 8.5k Still people offering 6k. It's like DAMN.
"Luckily by the Grace of God he didn't like rip through and crash into a wall or anything else and didn't get hurt" Yes, I love how you articulated that. Grace.
Just a comment. Jon, you've tried so hard to cultivate your "bike hooligan" image with the wheelies and burnouts etc. That is exactly people of my age, would NOT buy a bike from. Especially the black Honda F6B you had for sale. That bike is MY demographic!! We want to see someone who has a battery tender hooked up to it. Lovingly cared for, service records etc. Motorcycles are STILL selling. Especially used motorcycles. Buyers are just much more discriminating about WHO they buy from.
God bless you bro, I hope your motivation comes back but if you stay burnt out then just ride for yourself my dude. No shame at all closing up shop, life is full of adventures and all that jazz so fuck it. Do what you want to do.
I learned on a Honda monkey a year later I got my Scout Rogue so at that point I had the basics down but never rode anything other than the monkey with 9 horsepower so I went straight to 100 horsepower and i took it easy and the transition was very smooth. I didn't have a license and they absolutely had no problem taking $8,000 down. I live in Philly and my dealerships a good dealership they just told me to be safe luckily I got my license now but I didn't want to wait. So that's my experience without having a license and financing a bike without having much experience. I have $13,500 miles on my scout and going strong. I've had the scout now for a year in February 2024.
Bought my first bike at 18 without a license put it on my truck drove it to the farm and taught myself how to ride it on the farm. Then I took my 2 day course to get the license made it much easier in my opinion to learn at my own pace. I don’t think there should be another barrier to motorcycling. If your an adult it’s on you
Hi Jon! It may not just be you. It’s a buyer’s market currently, and the market is flooded with used bikes as well. Sales are much slower now than they were just a year ago.
Had a nephew dump his G35 on me to sell. It’s a bother these days dealing with FB sales, having to set up viewing times, negotiating, no shows. I had to fight to get $3000 for a $5k car. I pretty much gave it away. No fun.
I live just outside Chicago and from what I see on the daily here, there's a war waging on between buyers and sellers. On one hand, the sellers are trying to sell a 6 year old bike for what a brand new one sells for (Groms are particularly bad in this case, but generally speaking, all bikes fall to this except metric cruisers). Then you have the polar opposite side where the buyers lowball SO bad that its laughable. Regardless of what anyone here thinks, its NOT the economy. The economy is on the upswing, unemployment is stable, the markets are fine, etc. Yeah inflation is a bit high and so are the interest rates, but that's a necessary evil to fix the damage that's been done over the last decade. The REAL issue at hand is that everyone thinks they're some sort of entrepreneur whose gonna get rich quick by buying and selling or "flipping" bikes. The sellers want top dollar because they think they're smarter than the buyer and the buyer wants to lowball as badly as possible because they're not buying the bike to ride it, but rather they just want to feel like they "won" the deal. I'm 32 years old and I've owned 19 bikes in my 14 years of riding. That's over 1 bike a year. My personal philosophy for coming up with reasonable offers on buying bikes, since i go through them like underwear, is to offer the seller what I think I can reasonably sell the thing for in a year from purchasing it, assuming its in the same condition as I bought it in (usually better because I'm the most meticulous person I personally know when it comes to routine maintenance an preventative maintenance).
Facebook Marketplace has become overrun by individuals who either aren't serious, or just want to rip people off, or who communicate HORRIBLY. It is an utterly horrible place to sell things but is also a fantastic barometer of just how lame the majority of the population has become.

There was a shop in SATX that sold a new bike to guy who didn’t have a license. First ride out the parking lot he got hit by a car and was killed. That exit from the bike shop is no joke either even for a skilled rider. Oops

Prices in Oklahoma are insane. You can just buy a car.
It’s way harder to sell a stunt bike than sell a bike that someone cared for. Especially when it’s been beat to shit and the videos posted.
Sounds like burnout.
Maybe someone will come over when they get their tax refund?
It is tax season!
You don’t need a license to buy a bike dude. The license is to ride them not buy them. But what was the point of this clip. I guess what ever clicks you can get. Peace out from me
💯🤙You still doing bjj? I plan to jump back in eventually when my sched gets less hectic.
There was a shop in SATX that sold a new bike to guy who didn’t have a license. First ride out the parking lot he got hit by a car and was killed.
That exit from the bike shop is no joke either even for a skilled rider. Oops
Dang, that's a sad one.
