  • I noticed when I was doing spark plugs on my wives journey that the intake manifold had oil inside. The only thing that can really let that much oil in is a bad PCV valve. I was always told that the Pentastar didn't have a PCV valve, but after a search on a local auto parts website, one popped up. It is certainly not the old style cheap valve, but it is still a replaceable item. Let's replace mince and see if it takes care of the oil in my intake. The car is a 2011 but the new style requires an updated hose, make sure you get both parts if you do the procedure.

Great video. Thank you. I need to do this as well. It appears we have the same vehicle: White 2011 Journey LUX?

Mine is a 2011, but it’s an RT. Pretty much same model, just different options maybe?

@@copenhagenblue8417 Yes. Mine, which I also bought used, came with the deluxe front-end rattling and shuddering transmission package.

LOL I have some transmission rough engagement from reverse to drive, didn't know that was an option, LOL
I have done everything in the front end and I can't find any excessive play, but I did find a clunk in the half shalfs side to side play. So those are next on my list to replace!

It's a gratifying feeling to firm up the ride of an older car.

@@gblim398 it is, and if I can get rid of the clunk, I will be a happy camper.
Since buying it, we put about 10,000 miles on it, I hope that it’s good for another hundred thousand.
