- So you just got a Boss Katana Mk-II or you're thinking about it and maybe trying to make a decision which one to get. This video will show you the basic features of each one of the amps from the 50 watt to the 100 watt Artist. This is only first in a series of videos of learning to use the Boss Katana and what all of the features do. Next we'll work with the panel and then dive in to Boss Tone Studio.
This video is part of a bigger playlist you can find here: • HOW-TO: BOSS KATANA MK...

You've clearly put in a lot of work on this . . . thanks!
This is just part of a 3 hour compilation video!. I just hope it can help everyone out with getting familiar with this amp and all it has to offer. Thanks!
I got mine 2 days ago and good bye pedals. It's all about learning how it works. I'm still learning but very impressed with the deep sound and sustain and all of the sound options are amazing and this is the best channel to learn about it. He does an excellant job of explaining how it works and has many other videos that are great. If you want a simple amp this is not for you wich is your loss.
I sold almost all of my pedals and my Fender Hot Rod tube amp. I would still like to own a Fender Twin Reverb some day. Thanks for the kind words and I hope my videos help you master this amp.
@@Guitarnivore I'm still learning how to use the amp. I found a good site for patches and the librarian app works great, the more I use the amp the more I love it. And your videos have helped so much, you do a great job of explaining. Thank you so much and I look forward to more videos.
Thank you for making these videos ! You have saved me so much time and frustration. It’s great that there are people like you that are willing to give their time and knowledge to help others.
Just borrowed my buddies mkii 100 1x12 to try it out until I get my Artist later next week. Used it for our last rehearsal jam and was so impressed with the depth and quality of the sound in a band setting. The ability to also plug in an acoustic is huge as well. Will be spending a lot of time with your vids thanks!!!
Good to hear! The Artist is the best of the bunch. If you liked your friends 100, you;re gonna love the Artist and the Waza speaker.
@@Guitarnivore I did and I DO! Diving into your new app vids now - the rabbit hole is deep...
Thank you. I have two mkll 100’s in stereo. If I play a backing track through the master, it doesn’t play through the slave. Is there a workaround?
Unfortunately there are no additional settings for auxiliary in. You'd think it would branch out into the other amp in stereo mode. This is the first I've heard anyone mention it.
I wanted to like this amp, since I was looking for something that I could use for practise as well as small gigs. Unfortunately, the Katana sounds thin, muddy and boxy. If you dial up the Gain and Presence, you can get something close to a Vox, but that's about it. There’s virtually no bass, and when you hike up the bass, the amp sounds like it’s muffled, as though a blanket has been thrown over it. A far better choice is to save up another $700 and buy a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe.
Did you only play it in a shop? Because I admit, the factory settings are weak, but once you plug into tone studio and get into the parametric EQ, this amp can do just about anything. BTW, I don't know the last time you priced a Hot Rod Deluxe, but they're $1000 new now.
ofc the katana have to use the one usb plug I don't have :D
It's just your typical A-B printer/scanner type USB cable.
@@Guitarnivore Only have usb c or lightning. I want to use BTS but the panel sound is already good so I guess it can be delayed
BOSS should pay you
Im triggered by the fact you DIDNT call them Master & Slave, sir. You can’t please everyone
