By far the best tutorial I’ve had, super straight to the point, works better than the rest, explained the meaning of it while not dragging it on or over complicating things
thank you dj uni, you and dean have taught me everything i know about mixing and mastering. i didnt have a clue what i was doing before i found this channel. i follow everything you all do to make the outcome of my music sound better
uffffff carnal, that's crazy! qué digo crazy... remarcable, amazing! you're the BA dude! I'm just getting into the world of digital music and GarageBand along with your tutorials are the cream of the crop. Thanks for your tutorials, greetins desde Playa Del Carmen 🇲🇽
yo love the video man! used this tutorial and it made my songs sound so much better and alive!! im an up and coming rapper/singer been in this for a while man but I do everything on my own can't trust people in this industry but its because of people like you and videos like this that help independent artists like me actually have a fighting chance. so thanks bro!
Thus literally realky good u say what to do and how staright to it thats what i need none of those vids where they say everything thing else exept the acctuall thing
Bro the crazy part is Ive done mixing on adobe but That was years ago and now Im back recording its different. But this is what I need to learn what Ive been missing out on for all these years
Hey Dave! I'm not saying everybody wants autotune on their voice but I am saying more people do want than don't so I show how to do it in this video :)
Hey there! No, the moves I show you in this video are by staring from a blank audio track and adding all of the processing yourself :). When you click on those presets then it comes up with a predetermined ("preset") Reverb, EQ, compression, etc. sound... which can be great and it super simple but the techniques I'm showing in this video are how to create your own vocal sound from scratch!
Hey Destamoon! Ad lib vocals are the little things you say/sing in-between your main/lead vocal for extra flavor/interest. I usually happens in between the lead phrases so they don't compete with each other. Hope that helps!
Hello i have a question, I do all of this but the problem I hear a lot of echo is that because I choose the voice “natural” and should’ve left it on normal? Help please
Hey Marco! The effects/processing that I describe in this video is based on started with an empty audio track, meaning no pre sets, we are building from scratch. Either way, if you are hearing too much echo then I would look at my echo plugin or echo slider and tone it down a bit. Hope that helps Marco! -Dean
Is there any way you guys can help me the EQ. I'm having some trouble knowing what is what and how to manage it. I'd like a one on one on how to get my track mixed. Thanks!
Hey whosjet gaming! Yes, you can certainly use DeEssing if you're hearing harsh plosives (S's, T's, P's, etc). Backing up one step, I like to keep an eye on those syllables as I record, taking note any time an S or T or P is super harsh and then recording again and making sure to turn my head slightly away from the microphone so that air from my mouth does goes straight into the mic and overload it. I also make sure to use a wind screen/pop filter! That said, you can still run into harsh sibilant sounds so that's when you would use the DeEsser. Hope that helps! -Dean
By far the best tutorial I’ve had, super straight to the point, works better than the rest, explained the meaning of it while not dragging it on or over complicating things
Your videos are super crisp and straight to the point. I've watched many vids on how to mix but none as clear as this.

Hey Dave! I'm not saying everybody wants autotune on their voice but I am saying more people do want than don't so I show how to do it in this video :)

Do you use any vocal presets, (like Bright or Compressed Vocal)

What are the ad lib vocals?

Is deEsser not needed ? I recorded a song and used this method but the Esses were overwhelming
