The Creator was the first VFX heavy movie in quite some time where I didn't regularly find myself feeling like I was looking at VFX.

    Some interesting information there.
I feel that this movie might be a little underrated in general, but the visuals and the style as a whole, really makes this film stand out for me.

Whether or not you liked this movie, you have to respect it for it’s incredible visual effects on a relatively small budget

Have to be mad to not like this film. It was in my opinion the best film of 2023. Knocked Barbie and Oppenheimer out of the water.

@@BasicPaulI tried watching this with my parents at their house. My father enjoyed it immensely as did I, but my mother got up and left the living room not even 1/3 of the way in saying "Chappie was better!"
Um.. No. Hard No. Chappie was good for a Blomkamp film, but its story and characters were weak and crude and pales in comparison to The Creator.

For me this was one of those rare gems that I savoured because I know it'll be some time before we get another. Its so impressive when the movie not only looks great but feels like you're glimpsing the near future. That takes some amazing talent that was probably squillions of hours of research and brainstorming.

So many 4k close ups of "simulant" characters. No visible seams or blends from real to cg skin 👏.
Gareth Edwards shooting style and how to mix with technology creatively and effectively can be a real game changer. I hope films like The Creator and Godzilla minus 1 start making studios take note of indie but blockbuster quality filmmaking

The targeting beam projections from vehicles in this movie was one of my favorite visuals in a while starting with the opening raid. Great weapon sounds also.

The greatest effects company in the history of film, responsible for many of the most iconic scenes every made & for steering the course of special effects for nearly half a century & literally changing the ways films are made, multiple times over, is only getting 6.6k views on it's youtube videos after over 24 hours since posting. The world is f'ing upside down right now.

The way the VFX were achieved for this film reminded me of the Bjork music video “All Is Full Of Love” from 1999. I don’t believe the director Chris Cunningham planned the final workflow, but they filmed real people and prop robots, and mixed this with computer animations, ending up with a great result.

I would think it would NOT be advisable to do these kinds of CGI shots without references. It relies way too much on 'eyeballing' it. But here you're talking about some of the best artists in the world doing this. If some newbie group thinks they can pull this off, or that most CG artists could, they are going to have a rude awakening.
