Average height.....okay whatever you say Matt 🤣
You stop it right meow!!! 😂
HI Matt, Can from Blacktail Studio suggested his viewers check out your channel. Beautiful piece of wood. Much success! Mesa, AZ August 8, 2022
Hey Brother! Long time, been waiting for this video. Probably THE most unique pieces of wood I've ever seen! Like the A-10 Warthog where they built the plane around the gun, your client's house will have to built around that massive piece, wow! That light colored burl I would cut into 2" slabs, you'd be able to make several amazing tables from that and still keep the uniqueness of it IMHO. Thanks and will continue to keep an eye out. Thanks again!!!
Crazy pieces right?! They’re seriously incredible to see in person, it’s really hard to portray on video the sheer size of these. Thank you for watching!🙏🏻
I'd be interested in hearing how you got to this level of work, and how you got these clients. Clearly you are extremely talented, but how did you come to be involved with doing projects that sell for so much? Perhaps consider doing a video on this, please. Your story must be an interesting one.
Watching videos like this is humbling for us little guys out here having to deal with clients who want expensive projects done for the least amount of money. lol
I'd love to be involved with clients who don't care about money, and just want the best possible work and product. I strive to do my best at all times, but sometimes the money I make doesn't allow me to take the time I'd really like to take on something, so I have to find a balance between high quality, and time efficient.
I had to start out at the bottom making farm tables out of framing lumber that took me a week to build and finish, and I was selling for 500-1000 dollars. I've come a long way from there, but still far from where I'd like to be.
Thanks for the videos, I can't wait to see the finished redwood root table, and your future projects.
I may do a Q&A one of these days, I’d be happy to share my story! I was absolutely the guy who started out just like you, made the same farm tables etc, but I always wanted to push the boundaries. Always be coachable, and put yourself in uncomfortable and uncharted territory. It forces you to learn and adapt, this comes with failure however, IMO failure the best way to lean and make progression! Good luck!🤘🏻
Hey Matt …….. Fan Root looks amazing 😮……. When I first seen it standing up like that my initial thought was what an amazing entrance to a building that would make if you cut a doorway into the middle, looking forward to your next project keep up the good work 👍
Isn't it crazy! I cannot wait to work with it, great idea!
Man, they had some incredible slabs of wood!
They do!
Somehow the YT algo in its infinite wisdom sent me to your channel and I’m sooo happy it did! You do great work and area true artist. Keep to the unbelievable wood work and can’t wait to see more content!
For thousands of year, roots were left in the ground. Today they are some of the most valuable parts of the tree.
Wow. I'm speechless... That's magnificent!
Crazy right!?
The scale size of those roots are intimidating. You are a great craftsman.
Thank you, Steve!
Beautiful piece of wood ♥️
Right?! So excited to show the progression on these
@@MattsWoodworks looking forward to it ♥️

What can I say but WOW !!! Wood is amazing !!! So we’re gonna have to wait a bit yet 🤬😂😂
I know! I’m sorry but it’ll be worth it I promise!!
Can you imagine something like that in a fresh water aquarium. With live water plants planted around it.
I cannot believe you don't have more views than this? I will definetly share it everywhere! HOW do they get thee out of the ground??
Wow I'm looking forward to the grand reveal
"can't get the scale..." Bro! Always use a banana for scale!😂
Incredible.. thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching!
new sub. amazing cant wait to see more of this one
Just some constructive criticism for you Matt - if you could slow down the camera panning a bit and give us a chance to see the wood in more detail? Thanks
I will absolutely use this for the next series and going forward, thank you Brian!
Hey Brian, Press your pause button 😜
That’s dope bro! 🔥

I’m preparing a couple of 100 year old Olive tree rootball tables, do you know what they sandblasted the redwood with? Type and grit ?
I don't know the place, I'm actually going to GL next week and going there, I will post it on my next video as it will be a featured part of the builds.
Ya buddy!! Hurry up I wanna see what u turned it into!! Lol
Haha I know! It will be a bit but so worth it!!
Cook Woods has some great stuff out of Southern Oregon.
OH MY LORD THAT IS WONDERFUL. Even my wife said it is nearly as good as my wood.
Sorry. Where can I buy such wood?
my jealousy is immense, the pieces there are amazing
Is this a sequia root?
Give me more!
I will, don’t worry :)
Good job. From. Lao
What species is this?
wow
$200k for that, they took you bro! Sick much props blah
I mock, but seriously, if I were purchasing a table of this quality and price, if it’s vendor started to verbalise in such a tone I would do like his father should have done and pull out entirely…!
Gary, I bought two pieces (the big fan too), two of which are unicorns in my world. You won't find them ever again, like they always say things are worth what someone is willing to pay. This could be overpriced, or it couldn't it just depends on who it is your talking to. Cheers!
Good
Can any one go there buy some and where are located and name
Yeah, you can. GL Veener in Vernon which is just south of LA. I have gotten wood from those guys - the place may be best in the world. But the prices reflect that. And they only deal in big wood.
Yes, Gl Veneer is in Huntington Part, LA.
So the title is a little click baity without any references to what you actually paid for each price. Your work is too epic to be click baity.
Thank you for the feedback, I changed the thumbnail which shows the larger root that I purchased. I definitely don't want to be THAT guy :)
Yeah he's lying/exaggerating about the price too, you can check with GL or watch their video on the piece where they mentioned the price
@@OmnipresntGaming he bought that piece plus some others... how can you possibly declare so firmly that he's lying when it's plausible that he did, indeed, pay that.
Good🤣🤣🤣🤣🤗🤗👍👍👌👌
Come to india and get this type of roots for free just JCB cost will be your😅
