I don't really grill but this was easy to carry and bring with me camping as a backup in case ruclips.net/user/postUgkxTAV04Wwc8vZvciP7ycqR1S4raCS0TnUc I couldn't get a fire going. In my opinion it is better to bring a charcoal grill instead of a gas grill as a backup because if it rains or the leaves around are still damp from a recent rain; you can use the charcoal to help your fire keep going even though a gas grill is easier to temp control with. Overall, pleased with my purchase.
Looked at both, went with the Traveler. I’m definitely a Weber fanboy, but the lower profile of the Traveler was a big decider. Both of these take up some serious length in the back of SUV, but the Traveler sits lower so I can put duffel bags, beach bags, etc, on top. Max out my space. I also really like the features Weber put into it.
I bought the weber in the Uk. The small gas bottles are slightly different here than in America. The cooking time is supposed to be 2 hours off 1 bottle, however, in practice the bottles freeze after 30 mins and loses pressure making the grill lose heat. I found u have to rotate gas bottles every 30mins to avoid freezing, which is pretty inconvenient
you're using. if it's a propane butane mix then that's what happens. if it is pure propane, the problem disappears and there is enough gas for longer. I had a similar problem in Poland at low temperatures
same problem in the U.S. its about 1 hour cooking time and loses pressure as well . Bottle freezes and using the common coleman propane bottles that everyone uses. On a tank its fine.
I've owned this grill for 3 years. I've used it off and on for a total of 5 or 6 weeks, and only on camping trips. Since it was so horrendous to clean it's been primarily used to cook hot dogs and vegetables, and I've used charcoal to cook meats that left a lot of drippings. It looks to be in near new condition but it has quit working due to a faulty regulator. Weber does not want to cover this item past a 2 year warranty even though there is warranty remaining on other parts of the grill, and that this is an item that is known to be a problem with them. I purchased 4 Weber grills over a 2 year period and all of them have had issues. Three of the grills had issues right out of the box. I just completed a second warranty claim on my Weber Genesis II because the warming rack has rotted out, and I will be making a second claim on my Weber Performer because the metal table is covered in rust after only 1.5 years. A friend of mine has purchased 2 Napoleon grills last year and zero issues. I recommend a different manufacturer.
Weber makes a version without a regulator specifically to use the quick connect on your RV. I bought that one so I don’t have to carry 20 lb propane tank for the grill. Being lower profile, it also fits better in the RV. I have a Weber q1200 that I can use if I’m not taking the RV, but it’s not as easy to pack/move.
I have been trying to decide on my first grill purchase... so... the Traveler is not very tall... that's good as I am a Dwarf and so that may be a good option for me. I really want some kind of stand for whatever grill I end up buying. I am 139 cm tall so that might be a really good one for me.
i have 2 of these webers due to warranty. On the first one I had it had a bullet sized protrusion that extended out with every cook. i called both amazon and weber. Amazon sent me a brand new one and didn't require a return while weber responded to my emails late and sent me a new cookbox. Both of these wre not travel friendly. they both take up too much room . Weber also needs a diffuser and 2 burners. you're not getting lower than 400 on this traveler so low and slow is out if the question. you'll have to open it a lot to lower the temp. only good a s a stationary grill. the weber go anywheres are a better choice for travel. 2 of those will take less than half the room of 1 traveler. I will say the traveler beautiful grill .
thanks for the review. i think though this weber is a weird market. why did they release it, what's new? weber has a whole series of single burners in q. you can get a cart for each of them. in my opinion the only direct competitor to napoleon 285 series is Q320 but double the price. the flat lid profile is good for burgers and sausage. i feel weber went backwards with this one.
That's an interesting but insightful take! Thank you for the awesome feedback! We agree with you wholeheartedly. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
this looks like a nice grill. i think either the napoleon or weber would be a good buy for family camping trips for sure. i like the napoleon a little more because of dual burners and u can fit a full size propane tank on it without an accessory. great banter in the video i enjoyed it :)
Great video. Love the back and forth verbal jousting just like real people do (too many youtube videos feel so fake, love it when you guys genuinely annoy each other, again how people really act sometimes). Pretty impressive travel grills. Honestly really compelling, remember when I was young and we'd throw up a foldable table with coleman propane camping burners up, this seems much more versatile and to really have come a long way (also great since here in Arizona there are often wood fire restrictions while camping due to the dryness). Wish I was local (in the Phoenix, AZ area) and I'd definitely be checking out your "youtube" grills.
So, basically Weber built their own version of the Coleman Roadtrip that's been around for 20 years....Why? The Weber Q is the best portable grill on the market and has been for years.
The napoleon has two shelves, but the left one is at an angle. Does that make it functionally worthless? Same left napoleon shelf looks like it has a handle, does that serve a purpose? Honestly I like them both. I do like the dual zones on the napoleon. Both equally ugly 😂. I'd pick up what ever I could find on a sale, won't lie.
The left side shelf wasn't locked down all the way in the video. It should have been sitting level like the other one. It's hinged to fold up and forms the foot when the unit is stored away.
Picked up the Weber today, excited to try it out lake side in Utah this weekend. I drive a Honda Pilot so not a very large vehicle. I figured the sleekness of the Weber was ideal and should fit fine along with 2 coolers, tent, foldable table and a couple of chairs. My only other Weber product is a Weber spirit (3 burner model) which I’ve had for 5 years and still looks close to new, hoping the travel burner is just as durable given that it’ll get used much less. Loved the video btw.
Napoleons are so overpriced... they've become the Yeti of grills. The little Weber's dampened folding system is a huge advantage. They're traveling grills, so obviously they're both going to have flaws. But kudos to Weber, I've seen plenty of videos and it looks like a good little grill.
Obviously you guys don’t have any clue as why the lid is shorter you have to use your common sense. It’s made for outdoors. The other grill you guys Loli gag about you can only fit two wings indirectly and all the heat rises. I bought the Weber. Because in camp I’m not grilling a turkey. The Weber has more real estate. Go Weber. You guys are pellet smokers
This thing is a trash ! The lid lock is very weak and designed very poorly ! It closes the lid but when you drag it around or stand it up vertically . The lid pops opens and everything including the grates falls and creates a big mess! I had to return this after just few days of buying it !

great comment about how it fit into your SUV. Thanks for watching.

Yeah go Napoleon!!
Love your in depth first looks.
Oh thank you!
I thought I was the only one that tested to see if the grill was hot using your hand against the grate!! Great video!
Haha you are most definitely not alone lol! Thanks for watching!
I appreciate the Jim and Dwight convo reference.
haha thanks
Haha I thought I was the only one to think that too

Good call!
It’s like a low rider from the 90s when it drops down.
haha

Which one do you recommend between this and the Q version?
this one comes wit ha cart so thats a big plus.
does the napoleon stand up on its own when its folded like the weber?
yes
So, basically Weber built their own version of the Coleman Roadtrip that's been around for 20 years....Why? The Weber Q is the best portable grill on the market and has been for years.
thanks for the feedback
Seems expensive to me. I have a Q2200 with a folding cart and griddle. Cost me less the. $300.
q2200 is the same price without a cart

So you can connect an adapter to attach a big propane tank?
Yes you can!
What kind of adapter do you need? Thanks
Travel q pro hands down the fav!
We agree with ya!
Like the Weber but can we cook a whole chicken in it ? Seems so low rider..
yes true
Hey Trevor nice video. Keep them coming. I’m in the market for a grill. Do you ship ?
Hi! Thank you so much! We ship some companies yes! Give us a call whenever and we'd be happy to take care of you!
This was a terrible review. In the future, have a better understanding of a product and how it works before reviewing it
Sorry you didn’t enjoy it
Can’t grease drip into the burner and clog over time
yes like anything, all grills need cleaning
You didn't compare grill size between the two obviously the weber has more grilling space but it would be nice to know the difference sizes
we will work on that

If the Weber was cast aluminum, taller lid, 2 burners.. I’d be all over it! Lol
that would be awesome
Best Buy was selling these for $250 a couple days ago
cool
Steak hack... lay the steak at an angle 10/2 o clock not vertical/horizontal.
Alright alright, we will have to try that one next time, thanks for the advice and thanks for watching!
Tate shouldn’t be eating steak for lunch. Is the Travel a replacement for the smaller Q models? I use a Q for mobile cooking.
Thats interesting...
The weber is $325 w/ cart vs Napoleon w/ cart at about $499..
yes correct
no it's less now
Great review. But you need read the instructions, instead of wining it.
Thanks for the tip
Bring the moustache back! Adds 50% more swag
haha maybe

cool
It does have to click in
thanks for the feedback
I like how napoleon steals weber's design
Ha Napoleon had the scissor cart first
Mannn why not put dual burners on this thing smh That’s the only thing it’s missing
That would be cool
Nice god bless
Same to you
Napoleon has 5 years warranty at most for specific parts. Not 10.
not true
u guys are funny
haha
You should study up on it before you try to do a review 👎
thats kind of the point of the review, is more of an unboxing style
Be nicer to your friend
Haha alright I'll work on it! Thanks for watching!
Very unprofessional review !
At least look at the product before you review it .😂
Thanks for watching

ok
I'm a weber fan boy but I won't be buying this grill.
Too flat and one burner. Fail
ok
Worst of all your videos. I think that guy should stay in his office.
lol
