People are actually hurting themselves by how much they work out. People have turned exercise into a chronic inflammatory state by doing it all the damn time for hours on end. Why does everyone think it’s healthy to jog 5 miles a day? It’s not. So your sarcasm blows back in your face
There IS something wrong with you. You’re depriving your body of something it was designed to digest on a regular basis. Sure it’s not necessary, but you are putting yourself at a disadvantage for your twisted “ethics”.

For someone who’s been vegan for almost 9 years, she is 100% correct. I’ve spent almost this entire time feeling like complete shit physically and, like her, I reached a point of complete exhaustion, severe mental fog, diarrhea every time I passed stool, depression, anxiety; my hair was thinning to the point of having my hairline recede due to all my hair falling out…it was horrible. I was also developing T2 diabetes! However, I was eating all processed and greasy foods, sodas, dyes and chemicals, and ungodly amounts of sugar in all the candy I consumed. In February of this year, I switched my diet to an oil-free whole foods plant based diet and everything changed almost overnight. It’s only been about 4 months since I’ve been eating only whole foods in their natural form without cheating and I feel better than I have since I was a kid. My skin looks vibrant and full of color, my moods are great, I can think clearly, the black circles under my eyes have disappeared, I look years younger, my hair has grown back and is full and thick again, I have the energy to hike for miles without getting tired and even have the energy to workout, which I’ve always been too lazy and unmotivated to do. I never thought that I’d have a nice, strong body, but I’m quickly working towards just that! I sleep great and wake up well rested even if I stay up late and only get a few hours of sleep. On top of all of that, I’m no longer developing diabetes! I think so many vegans like Shannen and myself make ourselves ill by the food we consume, and many go back to eating animal products because they think it’s the vegan diet that’s made them feel so weak and frail, but truthfully, it’s not the lack of animal products that has done this, it’s all the junk food they’ve consumed. Just because food is vegan, doesn’t mean it’s healthy. We become weak and ill when we’re malnourished. When we eat whole plant foods in their natural forms unadulterated with additives, preservatives, chemicals, dyes, plant/seed oils, etc., we nourish our bodies which allows them to function at full capacity. Obviously, this post is wholly anecdotal, but it’s been my own experience as a sickly vegan who’s changed his entire health and world for the absolute best. Whether you’re a vegan or a carnivore, I wish whoever reads this feels amazing and is blessed with great health, happiness and fulfillment.

You know that they say - there's always some truth in a lie - so that doesn't dismiss veganism as being a scam. I didn’t know if it was a mental illness I was developing or a vitamin deficiency or something more serious but it’s a very scary feeling. The doctors said there was nothing wrong, that I’m healthy and they don’t know why I’m feeling this way. They just said my iron was low but I was born anemic so that was no surprise. Did everything I could with my vegan diet, eating more protein, Whole Foods, plants with nutrients but the symptoms kept getting worse. Long story short, I found out it was my diet and have been feeling better since I slowly started introducing animal products back into my diet. It started last month with fish and dairy. This month I started eating chicken and eggs again. I have cried multiple times because of how good I feel and because I have the energy to live life again. To be me again. I’m still recovering as whatever is going on took seven years to develop and will take time to fix, but the way I feel now is a strong confirmation that I’m made the right decision no matter how hard it was to reconcile in my mind that I was leaving a lifestyle I was so passionate about for a long time. Had to find everything out myself while I was in extreme pain and not functional as a human being anymore. In the end, I was almost bedridden and could not speak/think right, plus all the nerve pain. And for all those smart guys here, "you did it the wrong way", please.. I did everything, I had the "perfect diet", I tried cold therapy, fasting, 500$ a month for supplements, followed a strict vegan blueprint protocol from bryan johnsen, AND still got worse. One day I saw an old picture of me and was shocked at what I did to myself, hair falling out, lost 20 pounds of muscle mass, gum problems/teeth problems, panic attacks, etc. So I started the only thing I did not think of as the problem: eating meat again plus really high dosages of b1 benfotiamine. I am already 10x better but still recovering from all the damage I did to myself.

@@DanteLikesRock: Blatantly false nonsense. For 99% the past 5 millions of years, the only scant evidence there is of meat-eating in humans is the occasional scavenging of some bones, and not only was that mostly by distant cousin human species that diverged from us, but some of those bone markings have in later times been found to actually have been from crocodiles. It's only with the advent of effective projectile weaponry a measly ~50,000 years ago that humans started hunting in any significant capacity, due to migrating out of our natural habitat and having to resort to toxic garbage like dead animal remains just to survive. That is needless to say not even remotely enough time (it's a negligible blip of time in an evolutionary context) to alter our physiologies in any meaningful way, which evolved over tens of millions of years in the rainforest. We also see very clearly that humans share virtually zero physiological traits with carnivores or omnivores, which are much more physiologically similar to each other than they are to us. So the idea that humans are natural meat-eaters is just total nonsense, it has zero basis in reality.

That means that you have to transfer to eating vegan slowly (because you are eating healty colories and not eating a thousands of bad calories that will give you no real nutrients). I will tell you my story: I became anorexic when I started eating vegan. And you know what? I went back to normal weight in vegan style. I just realised that I was totally eat wrong. I was eating so small, training so hard, not eating a 'rainbow' of plant based food. In that time my mother was always telling me: "You have to eat meat and milk products, you are not normal." Now they still say to me:"You have to eat meat",even if I look so much better than them, have more strenght,I am more healty than them and I don't have lots of health issues like they have (pray for them pls). If you just search and analyse our body, you will see that is has similarities to animals which eat plants. We,humans, can have cholesterol. Animals that eat only eat meat, can not have it. Actually, "plant milk" is not milk, but a drink. The reason is that it is not a secretion of the mammalian mammary gland. Plant and animal milks differ in terms of their nutritional content. People do not consume milk due to intolerance or worldview (vegans). Plant milk is lower in vitamins and minerals. Therefore, it is often fortified, i.e. enriched with various ingredients, e.g. calcium. However, this element is better absorbed from cow's milk due to the presence of vitamin D and lactose, which influence its absorption. In short, it is more of a drink that can at most be called milk because it has nothing to do with the original.

Ironically my energy and iron levels have never been so good. They did dip for a bit when I was eating the right vegan food but it’s been 9 years now but I was iron deficient when I was a meat eater and I’m not now I don’t eat meat.
That’s because of lectins which are a natural plants self defense mechanism. I also experienced what you say and it all went away once I cut them out…and stayed vegan. And those symptoms went away. I wish there was more education about it, but unfortunately every Ben and Joe and Jane pushes veganism as “healthy” without educating people. Then people go eat vegan junk food or not properly cooking lectin filled foods (of which are many on a plant based diet) and that’s what you get. I’m sorry for what you experienced, if you’ll want to give it a go again for the animals, study how to properly cook lectin foods so as to not have them cause inflammation and also don’t eat vegan junk foods…that applies to any diet and that includes fake vegan burgers, fake vegan cheese. A lot of the commercial stuff is filled with lectins. And by the way, animals flesh contain lectins as well unless they’re grown on a farm and fed a wide variety of foods rather than just lectin filled grains. Knowledge is power. Use that power for yourself but also to reduce suffering and abuse on our planet. However that looks to you. :) But please don’t forget about the animals as well, even if your contribution is “just” in reducing the quantity of meat or in buying only grass fed. We must abolish the farming industry and go back to farms and how we used to it before the advent of cruel corporations which took over all of our food industries. Bless you!

I wager that these symptoms manifest due to a lack of education and certainty regarding one’s nutritional requirements. Prominent “vegan” doctors and internet spokespeople often discourage the consumption of dietary fat, fail to accentuate the importance of protein, and propagate the notion that a high carbohydrate diet centered around fruit and whole grains is optimal. Improper research or the lack thereof may potentially lead to a host of nutritional deficiencies, many of which can be obtained through supplementation: algae (dha and epa) choline (sunflower lecithin) Vit B12 (synthesized from bacteria) Glutamine (A naturally occurring amino acid integral to gut barrier integrity) and taurine (seaweed). Amongst the healthiest and most nutrient dense plant foods are legumes (ie beans, lentils, peanuts, chocho) nuts and seeds (baru nuts, sacha inchi, pumpkin seeds, Pili nuts, pecans) algae such as spirulina & chlorella, and healthy fats (ie olive oil, red palm oil, coconut-milk etc) A diet centered around these foods promotes longevity by decreasing oxidative stress, activating longevity genes, decreasing advanced glycation, and avoiding an over abundance of certain constituents of animal protein. With that being said, there are notable constituents of animal protein that aren’t present in plants such as carnitine carnosine beta alanine and creatine, though there is much debate as to whether they are absolutely indispensable, the latter being the subject of extensive research regarding optimal cognitive functioning. A seemingly unceasing state of hunger would subside in a state of ketosis, regardless of whether or not one subsists on a diet of plants or animals alone. It is also important to underscore the principals of bioindividuality and biological variability in that some people may be more susceptible to developing nutritional deficiencies due to a greater requirement of certain nutrients (ie women are particularly more susceptible to developing iron deficiency anemia, some people have a more difficult time converting preformed vitamins into their active form, food allergies ie gluten soy etc.

@@kelsycunningham8452 “Food iron is absorbed by the intestinal mucosa from two separate pools of heme and nonheme iron. Heme iron, derived from hemoglobin and myoglobin, is well absorbed and relatively little affected by other foods eaten in the same meal. On the other hand, the absorption of nonheme iron, the major dietary pool, is greatly influenced by meal composition. *Ascorbic acid is a powerful enhancer of nonheme iron absorption and can reverse the inhibiting effect of such substances as tea and calcium/phosphate.* Its influence may be less pronounced in meals of high iron availability--those containing meat, fish, or poultry. The enhancement of iron absorption from vegetable meals is directly proportional to the quantity of ascorbic acid present.” try again. vitamin C enhances iron absorption; when i went vegan i balanced my meals a bit better, made sure i was getting 11-17g a day and eating vitamin C rich foods with most meals. blood tests don’t lie, and neither does biochemistry there’s a fair few things vegans can become deficient in but anemia isn’t actually all that more common in vegans than meat eaters

@@siennad587I was vegan for 7 years. Quit a month ago because for the last few months I’ve been feeling absolutely terrible. Pretty much what she described. Zero energy to do anything whatsoever even after two cups of coffee. I’m talking debilitating exhaustion accompanied by joint pain, constant bloating, low mood, anxiety, dizziness and vertigo, and this weird feeling of being high all the time. I couldn’t think, I felt like I couldn’t see. Like it took light a while to reach the back of my eyes. I felt impaired to the point where I felt like I shouldn’t be driving. Like my consciousness was sitting deep inside my brain behind a thick veil of smoke. Those last few symptoms were the most concerning to me as I felt like my mind was slipping away. I’m not saying it’s impossible to be a healthy vegan. I’m just saying it doesn’t work for everyone and I never thought I would be one of those people. I think my history with anemia played a huge role in why veganism doesn’t work for me. But I’m happy it works for you. I wish I could say the same.

Blatantly false nonsense.

The biggest problem is that when they say 'eat vegan' they think 'oh,okay let's just eat vegetables and fruits'. Men.... Yoy can not just eat low calorie plant based food. You have to eat nuts and seeds, grains, beans, lentils. You will have to eat more if you want to become vegan, because of plants.
In that time my mother was always telling me: "You have to eat meat and milk products, you are not normal." But I gained weight back just with vegan diet.
Now they still say to me:"You have to eat meat",even if I look so much better than them, have more strenght,I am more healty than them and I don't have lots of health issues like they have (pray for them pls).
If you just search and analyse our body, you will see that is has similarities to animals which eat plants. We,humans, can have cholesterol. Animals that eat only eat meat, can not have it. They have diffrent kind of bowel system (you can search it all on internet).

If you're eating anythign else - it's not suitable for your body. That doesn't make meat suitable - as that gave me severe gut issues. That's how you get colorectal cancer and kidney damage. We're not meant to eat animal proteins - only plant ones.
And the only people in my family that have nutrition deficiencies are meat eaters. Why? because those vitamins come from bacteria and when tehy're killed off with antibiotics (you're eating that too) - you don't get the nutrients those bacteria make. Why not just eat that bacteria and their byproducts directly? Why complicate matters and everything?
Also even if what you say is true about 'nourishing' (which plants can do too) - doesn't mean it's good for the planet or animals. Maybe you get a meal out of it - but if you kill teh planet and all the life around you - you won't have sustenance for long!

Perhaps a vegan diet isn’t for everyone for medical reasons, but it certainly isn’t the devil it’s portrayed to be here.
Problem is that the vast majority of the vegans with big online platforms aren’t just vegan, they are raw food eaters or even fruitarians, excluding all possible sources for healthy nutrients except antioxidants and carbs from a very limited number of sources. Most of them did things such as water fasts, juice “cleanses” and other extremely unhealthy things. It was malnourishment advertised as healthy veganism.
Many vegans exist who are healthy, not extreme, and happy with their lifestyle, however nobody ever wants to talk about them, because everyone’s in here for the drama. “I almost died” and “it’s a scam” sound more entertaining than “I’ve been healthy for years and my life is stable”.
The only vegans anyone does want to listen to are ex-vegans.
Everyone, go and find vegans who actually live healthy and have been for years upon following a vegan diet :)

Because they didn't have the technology and knowledge about nutrition required to ensure that they were getting all of the nutrients they needed. They didn't even know what vitamins were, let alone exactly where to get them. But science has advanced massively since then, and now we do know all those things.
