Wow that must have been a lot of work to design. I don’t have a 3D printer but am very impressed at what can be done by those who do :)

Yes it was, Andy but the beauty of a 3D printer is (once the design is complete on the printer) you can leave it running and wander off and do something else!

Great work! May I suggest one thing? Remove the string from the counterweight on the end. Bolt it directly on the pipe or design something at the end to hold it, but firmly. That way there won't be any ossceletions after moving the arm.

You are right, this was just the quick and dirty approach. Someone has just suggested using dumbbell clamps to hold the weight on the shaft so I am ordering some now. Thanks once again!

Love the design. Is it possible to scale up to larger size binoculars. Longer arms perhaps?

Thanks a lot for sharing this fantastic project, I'm gonna print mine and I think some dumbell 25mm clips could be very useful !

Great idea! Why didn’t I think of that. I’ll add those to the kit list and get some myself. Thank you!

    Hey mate,
Is it possible to mount a 20x80 2.4kg binocular on this mount.
Brilliant video and mount btw. Congratulations!

I think you will be pushing the weight limit there so I think it would be a risk. My 15x50 weigh one 1.1kg and that felt pretty secure. I mean, you could try and see how you get on but I would not like to guarantee it.

Thanks for sharing your design. This looks like a very cost effective, flexible P-gram mount. How much infill (%) did you use in the 3D printed components?

I used the default printing settings of 20%. Hope that helps!

25,4mm seems to be very hard to get outsite of UK/US. I can order in UK but shipping is somewhat expensive. Buy 25mm x 2 mm and use tape to create fit?

That would work or you could adjust the STF files in CAD if you prefer?

Mark have tried the links for the build and stf link but they don't seem to be working?

D'oh, that was a copy and paste error. Corrected now, Steve. Cheers! In meantime I hope you are staying dry in this weather.

The mount is interesting for those who don't have one, but... the binoculars are also interesting, and above all, the "bino bandit" that I can't find in any store. 🙁
