Bro... I have been using Ableton for literal decades and I never knew you could click that little button up at the top of the channel strip and see a whole expanded mixer for each drum sound. I always do that stuff down below in the device view. That alone has changed my life. Like, I knew you could group tracks and do that, but I didn't realize a drum kit was the same thing.
Glad you like it! To my knowledge, the best way is to set the input on an audio channel to the output of the track from the drum rack you want to record. Choose "post fx" to record any track processing, "pre fx" records without. There's a third option also, "post mixer," but instead of recording like that, I'd just group the new audio tracks and copy whatever chain that was on the drum rack. Hope that helps!
This is part of what I am looking for. More videos on IDM, Ambient and experimental for non dancefloor listeners.
if you really wanna go off the deep end, stop worrying about tempos, time signatures, and standard pattern lengths.
Great! You've come to the right place :)

this is amazing, literally just what i was looking for. Are you using live 11 or 12?
Cool, glad to hear that! This is 12.1 and it is outstanding.
Oh that’s cool!
What’s the best option to render drums from steps? Like if I want get separate tracks of each sound in project

Vnice. Envelope follower and layering are my takeaways. A lot of mileage from those.
Envelope follower is so useful!
