  • The Vampires JAWZ screw extractor locking pliers, part number VT-003-7LP, are an outstanding locking plier and a best in class locking screw extractor plier.
Disclaimer: I asked Vampliers to send me these, which they did. So thank you Vampliers. However, I was just about to purchase them on Amazon before I thought to ask Vampliers to see if they would provide me a pair.

No gimmick as far as I can see. Just a solid workhorse.

By the way if you want to get any vamplier tool cheaper just search for the same tool under the name engineer. Engineer. Are who makes the pliers that are sold by Vamplier. Both are made in Japan.

The difference is the grade and hardness of the metal in the jaws of the pliers.
Had you drilled out your Snap-On pliers they still would not have worked.
I treat my Vampliers gingerly because I know they are brittle because they have a Rockwell hardness around 64.

Hello, I've watched quite a few of your vids and they're very detailed and informative. I think you're on to something with the usa, german and japan made tools reviews with exceptions thrown in for variety. I have a feeling you will have tons of new subs if youtube's algorithm takes notice. Have you tried the fujiya or victor brand of hand tools. They make excellent pliers. Also look into IPS, Tsunoda, and Merry. These are very old japanese tool companies. Some go back to 1921.

That hex is the biggest gimmick… by far

Nice, thorough videos. However, why are they so long? Why are you constantly moving and fidgeting the tool? It is hard for the viewer to see the tool as you are constantly moving it.

Hey Doc, Another nice job, and timely as I am currently debating between the Vampliers locking pliers and the regular ones. Thus, 2 questions: (1) how do the locking Vampliers work on the head of a screw (rather than the shaft)--such as the one in your brake rotor? 92) If only buying one Vamplier, which would you recommend, the locking or the regular? And does it appear that there is anything that the locking plier will accomplish that the regular ones wont (other than locking of course) or "vise" versa. Red out.

Hi Red. I think the question is more one of finesse rather than capability. Both pliers can grab screw heads, but the way the locking plier does it is far less graceful. I would be hesitant to dive into a sensitive workpiece with the missing precision of the locking plier. Not that you couldn't do it but its more gutting a fish with a hatchet rather than a knife.
However, if you needs lean towards larger, cruder jobs where scratching a surface of bumping a nearby component is not of concern, the locking plier might be the ticket. However if I were to toss one in my go-bag, it would be the regular Vamplier lineman style. That said, if you might need a locking plier, the Vampier comes with all the rights and responsibilities of the Visegrip style as well as the gapped front tooth to grab screws and the like.
Not much of an answer, but my needs are mostly smaller and more intricate than backing out old broken deck screws.
