This is definitely a helpful FAQ for incoming students! So cool that you get to go to USC :) Enjoy your senior year - it'll flash by before you know it!
USC loves individuals and people who want to make their mark on the world. Not conformists who don't know what they want. Or at least that's the way it was when I was there and always had been up to that point. So just think of what you want to do and how you want to make the world a better place.
this is so so sooooooo helpful for people contemplating what schools to look into. any career pathway i have looked into has always led me to USC and i really hope that i can get in. Im a sophomore in highschool right now and trying to get ahead of the game.
congrats!!! so so glad i could help! lmk if you have any questions or if there’s ever a usc video you’d like me to make! (also ty for acknowledging my blackbear obsession)
This was so helpful! I just got admitted to Vibterbi for computer engineering & computer science! I'm just worried because we aren't getting a real welcome week and orientation is online. I really wanted to check out the involvement fair but I don't know if it's still happening...
congrats! i'm in viterbi too! i do agree it'll be difficult starting out w welcome week online but i think they may be having a virtual involvement fair! if you'd like any club recommendations too i'd be happy to give you some🥰
omg congrats!! i promise it’s not as scary as you think! i moved across the country and tbh didn’t even miss home until my sophomore year! usc does an amazing job of building a community and getting freshman involved!
coronavirus has definitely made things difficult for next semester i haven't even decided if i'm going back yet! but good luck w your first semester❤️💛

hi! thank you for this video. Can international students work on campus or intern? Is there anything that's different for international students that resident students have?
i'm sure you can work on campus! internships vary depending on the company but i have a lot of international friends that were able to find companies that would sponsor them!
Im a foreigner and I'm not sure what requirements I will have to meet to go to usc, and I'm also from a county with a different grading system and I'm not sure how I will be able to apply
all of the official deadlines should be on the usc website! but for scholarships it’s usually before december 2021 and for regular applications it’s by january 2022
Do the popular dorms fill up fast? I'm hoping to live in Birnkrant but I'm afraid that I won't be assigned to it if I submit my housing application too late 😭
i think they do but honestly whatever dorm you’re in i’m sure you’ll still have a great experience! they all have their pros and cons but everyone finds a way to make the best of it!
I'm an undergrad and applied for this year to SCA. Decisions are coming out in two weeks :} But I'm really concerned because my GPA is a 3.5 unweighted and 3.95 weighted which is way below USC's average. Do you know how much SCA has on the decision and how much the low GPA will affect the decision :(
unfortunately i’m only a student so i can’t speak on how the admissions team makes decisions, but at this point you’ve already submitted your app and there’s nothing more you can do but trust the process and wait! best of luck!!
Ok ik this might sound super fat but do people at the dining halls take food to their dorm in their like own containers I always wonder that and great vids btw 💕
for most classes yes! but there are a few classes where only specific students can register. those classes will be marked with a "D" in the registration portal (meaning you need D-clearance to take it). you can request D-clearance from your advisor but you won't always get approved
@@charlottesendi got it! also, are there “majors” or are they just different concentrations depending on which school you go to at USC? and are there core classes for each concentration or is it more of an open curriculum?
there are majors with core classes! i don't think you have to declare a major but most people do to ensure they're accepted into a specific school within USC if necessary! (for example, if you choose to major in Aerospace Engineering but later want to switch to Chemical Engineering it's super easy because you're already in the Engineering school; but if you want to switch to Business, it's harder because you need to apply for the Business school within USC) hope that makes sense!
pretty sure you can request to be on themed floors (such as gender neutral or ethnicity) but otherwise i think you can only request dorms not specific floors

I would say the student body is definitely politically active! There are lots of political clubs and there have been plenty of peaceful marches/protests for a variety of causes students believe in throughout my time there, whether it's a cause specific to the USC administration or the entire country! Hope that helps:)
@@charlottesendi thank you, that does help a lot! i've heard from a couple people that usc is very apolitical so that's good to know! thanks! what are some examples of some demonstrations that have happened?

Hi, I am a sudent from Beijing, and I would like to know when applying to the USC, is the test score really important to get in? Or can you share your test scores?
hey! i feel that test scores tend to be important at most, if not all US universities, although I can't speak to how much the USC admissions office weighs them for us! i had a 1420 SAT if that helps at all🥰
