- Guess what! We are tackling another pesky and unexpected air leak today. Spoiler alert, a LOT of air can leak around the switch plates on your walls. I know, crazy!!

This was very well done. I do tones of remodeling and lack of insulation around switch or outlet boxes is common. If anyone doesn't think this is an issue, leave your window open a crack in one room for a day and compare.

For a better seal, what I do is caulk around the outside parts of the box and then add the foam gasket. Just as a FYI, the premade form pads are fire retardant, I wouldn't use craft form paper because its not...

Good Job. One Thing Though i Would Have Put The insulation On The Inside Of The Cover Sticky Side To The Cover This Way if You Have To Change A Switch You Can Still Use The Insulation Over Again . Just A Though.
Too true! I did try that originally but I could not get the cover to fit back on. Would definitely try it that way first!
Either Way You Did A Good Job And Fixed The Issue With The Air leak So That's What Counts So It Was A Success.

Sticky side against the plate?
Tried this on other switch plates but the plate would not replace correctly over the switches. Definitely worth trying before sticking on the wall!

In My Mobile Home, I Felt a Draft From The Outlets on the Same Outside Wall
I Caulked The Wires Coming Into The Outlet Box. just move the outlets and wall switch to reach wires coming inside outlet box...

i tried that a few years ago and found that the inulators were to thick and i could not close the plates without looking weird.
I could see that! I had to cut a couple of mine down (elsewhere in the house, not in this video) to make them work. These things are a much pickier fit than one might think!
