After seeing the ending screen's text, I think I might understand what all the seemingly random imagery in this mod is supposed to represent. This is going to be a bit of a long explanation, so bear with me, folks: The static represents the 'nothingness' of death, or being in a near death state. All the dead marines lying around? Meant to represent every person who died before you, and who will die after you. Death comes for everyone, you are just one of many. All the weird pictures of Spongebob and Courage the Cowardly Dog characters are meant to represent the kind of shows one might have watched in their childhood, as well as childhood itself. The open space near the beginning of the mod also represents childhood, where things are a lot less restricted, the initial blue sky skybox representing how joyous and carefree childhood is. Death (in this room, in the form of a distorted version of Mr. Krabs, specifically using the 'Moar Krabs' meme as its appearance) is far away and easily evaded. When you push the switch, the change in skybox represents 'growing up', and while the Ghost of Ramses in the sky represents death, it's still far away, though you're now much more aware of it. The slowly opening door represents the transition between childhood and adulthood, and picking up the Super Shotgun to spawn the evil Spongebob represents a desperate yet futile effort to return to one's childhood once it's already passed. The room with all the SS and the evil moustache man's speech represents how scary being an adult can be with world events such as the 2nd World War. The specter of death that suddenly attacks you is representative of the fact that as an adult, death is a lot closer to you and harder to avoid than when you were a kid. And in the final room, the pictures of Spongebob and Courage the Cowardly Dog stuff, combined with the monsters that represent death, represents the end of one's life where the fear of dying and the memories of their childhood all combines into one moment. The fact you have to use the God Mode cheat to beat the Ghost of Ramses, only to end up with the ending screen, represents that even if you find a way to cheat death for a bit longer, the end will come for you eventually. You cannot stop it.

4:37 is an illustration from the book Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark. The artist for that book was amazing and this one stuck with me the most as a kid. I'd actually skip that page because it scared me too much lol. I still can't believe that was a kids book.

Also, the image of Squidward in the mod doesn't originate from the Squidward's Suicide story; more rather it was some 3D art piece someone made showing him holding a bloodied knife while Patrick's body lays on the ground behind him. I don't know who originally made it, but it has been floating around the internet for a number of years by now.

The creepy CGI creature is from an episode from Courage the Cowardly Dog, it is for a kid a pretty disturbing and creepy episode because of the uncanny CGI creature called Ramses. But it is one of my favorite episodes.
