THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!! I've been going INSANE trying to figure out why my Associative PCB (option 3 in your tutorial) wasn't appearing in the original design for the enclosure I am building. Apparently (as you outlined so well in this tutorial) it's because that isn't even possible with the Associative PCB option. And I had no idea at all about this Edit In Place workflow but that's exactly what I needed to know! thanks for saving my sanity. I will be using the Edit In Place option from now on. you rock!
sooo confusing but still better than using eagle, now I have to figure out how to get my eagle designs into fusion so that they are all in fusion. The last time I did a pcb they were two different programs and none of my pcb's show up in fusion projects
Any chance of a video on how to reset the trial period without trashing your personal version. What's the point of advertising a new 1 month trial but making the process incredibly opaque to do?
Hi, I have tried this EIP often, sometimes it works perfect but sometimes if I started edit board the new Profile could not be selected. I don’t understand when it works and when not
At ruclips.net/video/NCntaivZtw0/видео.html I could not delete the outline. After spending way too long trying to figure out why, I had to go in the Inspector Pane and unclick the "Locked" checkbox.
Feedback: Yeah, getting revisions named properly is important, but in a tutorial video it gets old after 2nd or 3rd time... Consider skipping it for the future videos. Non-trivial duration of the otherwise great video was spent on watching you type the revision names.
Is this accurate anymore? In the Edit in Place/"option 4" flow I don't see the Edit Board menu item after clearing the previous geometry in the outline sketch. E: The menu item hanging off the board object is gone, but there is a toolbar button. E: This UI is impossible. God forbid an Autodesk engineer sand down a single rough edge in anything they do. I've tried this three times and got it to work once.
It looks like Edit In Place is a Fusion 360 paid subscription feature now. In trying Method 4, after I inserted the 3D PCB (which I had created from my 2D PCB) into the Enclosure design, if I hover over the Edit (pencil) icon, it says: "Edit In Place // This feature is included with a Fusion 360 paid subscription. Subscribe now for full access to Fusion 360."
absolutely horrible, useless dimensioning of outlines in the pcb editor. I see why you avoided showing us how to do that and skipped on to method 2... No display of units, no way to dimension lines directly. Line properties doesn't label what is x and y and doesn't allow you to change length of line. What is the point of the tool to draw lines with bends at the same time when you can't specify and lock the radius? Why not just remove the (in)ability to make a PCB outline in the PCB editor completely and force them to use the methods you obviously are pushing the user to use?

Watching these lectures helps a lot to build my own keyboard PCB . Thank you.
what the paka lol.
Excellent presentation. Thank you very much!!!
Hi
Method 5 is probably also possible.
start with method 2 and finish with method 4 :-)
Congratulations on the clarity
Excellent tutorial.
THANK YOU.
Useful video !
Thanks so much

This should be required watching before clicking the "Create PCB" button in Fusion 360 😂

How do you make the enclosure you used in method 2?
I googled 1590B2 enclosure, downloaded step file and opened it in Fusion
@@pktrela thank you brutha

Following the Edit in Place workflow, there's no way I'm able to select a sketch to define the outline.
Do you know why?

If you could arrange the components as perfectly in the board that will be good to look

I'm also not able to use Method 4. There is no possibility to select a sketch for the new board outline :(

@@FiniteState23 Yup! 😔
Soooo... Option 4 is just a working option 3. Got it.
A link to the enclosure would be useful otherwise theres no way to follow along!
what a pain in the arse process!
4:19 It's not clever to use "any enclosure you want" to a beginner follow-along project. You have one, good for you!
