I'm going to be honest...I love weird jobs. In fact, I look forward to them. But I'll admit...I am a little disappointed you weren't swinging around on the side of the building like Tarzan!🤣🤣🤣
Yeah roping up and swinging out there would have been kinda fun
The ground crew did an outstanding job on this one.
A hard working bunch! :)
your philosophizing reminds me alot of Robert persig's zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance... i guess this is more like zen and the art of treefelling... very deep and intuitive unversal truths verbalized for the life student at heart...
Thanks for that, buddy! I haven't read Persig's book in a while ... it definitely got me thinking back in the day
Lol ladder n tree... I think that same thing every time I grab a ladder 😆 🤣
Weird order, but well managed! And they payed you!
Love it! The ground seemed a little over whelmed or maybe that was just the trailer. Those trees are everywhere up there. Nice work
Stay safe
Hauling that trailer outta there was kinda like pulling a big camper: lots of wind resistance :)
That's a definite mon-bak job. Suckers are going to sprout up like crazy, and they will be calling you next year to "Mon-bak, and do it again."
yeah I mentioned that but didn't seem to be a problem for them
Well my friend.. Thank God for tree work 😊😊 there is never a dull day..👍👍👍
You said it: an elephant lurks around every corner :)
Love the commentary. I look at it like exploring
Thanks for that!
Awesome job Spencer. 👏
I will say as a guy that owns both a chipper and dump trailer. The chipper is worth its weight in gold and I only have a small one right now but it's such a blessing.
Chip on! Sounds like you have a good setup
@@metaspencer work in progress gets a little better every year
smart move using the blower.....
Always love your content! You mention a poison briefly and it getting into the creek. But there is a tree and brush poison I have used (it's green tinted) that I apply to fresh cuts that REALLY WORKS! I use a foam "brush" and dab only the perimeter of the fresh cut. 90% of the time it works on the first application. Some varietals I have had to do several applications, but ultimately it has worked and definitely no risk of ground or water contamination : )
Sounds like you're found the special sauce! I'm hoping it's not called "Agent Orange" :)
Enjoyed the video. That sure is how you did it. That is a two man job if I ever saw one. Knock it out and move on to the next. You're a hard working fella for sure.
Thanks buddy! gotta stay busy ya know
I often tell residential customers that residential tree care is a compromise. It might not be best for the tree to be reduced, but it may be better for the tree than removal- the other option.
Great perspective ... I like how you phrase that
I work for 7 different banks and every one has me do this kind of job fairly often
Sounds like you have some good customers!
Sometimes it just calls for it.
Nothing wrong with those kind of jobs they can be fun pay is pay 👍
I love the voiceover on this video and agree with you so much!
Big thanks!
Great video as always.
Big thanks!
Nice job Spencer. I'm surprised you didn't have to have one of those orange reflective safety vests on while on the roof. 😀
I should have worn an orange cone as a hat, now that you mention it
That had to be hot up on that roof. Thanks for sharing
Things did HEAT UP after a while :)
I wish I knew what you charge. I hate pricing jobs. I should have paid more attention all those years I was working for other people.
Gotta get what you're worth out there buddy! don't undersell yourself or your value
You can't go wrong if you figure close to the amount of hours a job will likely take and set an hourly rate for yourself. I wouldn't go less than $150 per hour. Tree work is dangerous and there's equipment, insurance, taxes, etc
@@ScottWConvid19 yep you said it ... gets easier with time
Hello from the Netherlands.
thanks for the video Spencer .
Sincerely Hollandduck
Hey buddy!
Everytime I use a ladder I tie in and tell myself "Don't become a joke on a RUclips reel."
Exactly! we need cammo ladders
@@metaspencer Ha! When the ladder falls, nobody saw anything. 👍🏻
I guess I’m just not normal lol
Just a heads up, this video didn't show up in my subscription feed and I've got all the notifications set. RUclips only gave me a push notification, which I usually dismiss and just check my sub feed later
Dang! I must have ticked the wrong button or something ... thanks for that
@@metaspencer I don't know if it's a setting or if it's YT or what, but This morning it did finally show up in my subscription feed. I like most of your content, so it's always nice to see a new upload from you 👍🏼👍🏼
Weird jobs can be fun but they can also be frustrating when they don't go the way that you think they will. Good think you didn't go Indiana Jones on them! I think it would have been a three day job.😆
Yeah, always good to be out of there by lunch time :)
@@metaspencer For sure!
❤️👍👍👍
Hahaha not topping tree of heaven off the top of a roof!😍😍 how the heck did you bid this job????
Oh the bidding process! Let's just say that it developed and evolved over time :)
Also how’s your Chinese mini skid? I’m looking at getting a boleo made by wolverine machinery. Just wondering if yours has been useful? I’m hopefully going to get a log grapple for mine.
@@laneherrlinger7478 Mine just won't die and gets A LOT of work done. I showed some of that in my recent Ash jobs ... great little machine and a real money maker. I mainly use it to load logs and haul full trees around on the ground
@@metaspencer dude I have that video on my watch later list I’ll definetly check it out! Keep it up bud love your videos and your attitude, I get into some funky but fun jobs too! I recently almost got skint by a homeowner.
What if, after you knocked the tops off of all of those, you went down and girdled them right next to the ground? Then at least they'd die, fill up that space and make it harder for other crap to establish.
It would sure be a shame if a little roundup spilled right on to the exposed sapwood when you girdled them. 🙂
Girdling them! interesting idea ... there would be new sprouts and all that but PLENTY of dead wood for sure. Cool idea and spilled roundup does happen :)
I would’ve loved to see u swan dive into the trailer off the roof just for the heck of it to finish off the video. Lol
Just kidding!
Those branches would have made for a nice landing! :)
👍
You enjoy the privilege of being a company officer, so OSHA doesn't apply to you, like it would to an employee of yours.
Yep you said it: sole proprietorship over here
