      Nice! I really got into Animal Crossing at the start of our first lockdown and played it daily for hours. That's the only video game I was ever seriously into. I haven't played for well over a year now though. I agree - framing a puzzle and showing off your hard work is part of the joy. Although I know I'm not the artist, I still feel like I had a part to play by assembling it. 💜🧩

    Nice haul!! I say save the Cloudberries to savor instead of doing upside down. The Geometry one would be a good one to do block by block!
    And the gradient ones..... I say feathers then droplet then ribbons. I think the ribbons have that reflection of light that might be more difficult than it seems. Will be fun to watch you put it together!

    • @fortheloveofpuzzles
      @fortheloveofpuzzles  2 года назад

      I don't think I want to do the Cloudberries upside down because like you wrote, too beautiful of a puzzle not to savour every moment. I can't wait to do all the colour gradient ones - you may be right that the light reflection on the ribbons one will make it trickier than I first thought. We shall have to see! Thanks for commenting and watching. 💜🧩

    Great selection of jigsaws there. 👍 I have done the Rainbow Bricks one and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have done two others in that series, Ice Cream Dream and the Minifigure Faces one. Oh my, the faces one was hard, took me seven days on and off to complete it. I would not have chosen to buy it but my daughter and her hubby gave it to me for Christmas so naturally felt obliged to do it. I have never actually done a Wasgij but my daughter enjoys doing them. Perhaps I should try one but one of the smaller count ones which are available. How about trying the Crocodile Creek World one upside down?

    Great haul, and I have so much to comment 😉.
    That's a beautiful Pintoo puzzle 😍. I just bought two new Pintoo puzzles, one of them by the same artist as yours.
    I have never tried a Wasgij puzzle. I like the concept, but I really hate the illustration style 😆.
    I have the roller coasters from around the world version of the Crocodile Creek puzzle. I loved it, and the pieces reminded me a little of Eeboo pieces.
    I have the rainbow Lego puzzle, and it was so fun to put together 😁. Mine came with the pieces in a resealable plastic bag. I have heard a lot of people think it's bad quality, but I thought it was wonderful. Thick sturdy pieces, all the different piece shapes and no false fits. But when I look at pictures of the other Lego puzzles, it looks like they only have the standard two in, two out piece shape, so perhaps the quality of the other puzzles are different 🤔. And a little tip for when you put it together... You can see what way all the pieces are going to go, based on the shadows of the little Lego nobs 😉

    • @fortheloveofpuzzles
      @fortheloveofpuzzles  2 года назад +1

      Don’t you just love Pintoo puzzles?! I’ve not done an eeBoo puzzle yet but hear good things about them so I’m assuming the same for Crocodile Creek. I wonder if the Lego puzzles were manufactured by different companies in different countries?? Could explain quality difference. I hope mine has more variety in piece cut - standard two prong pieces get boring after awhile. Thanks for the tip about the shadows on the Lego pieces - that’s very helpful. 💜🧩

    What a fun haul. I actually really like Wasgij - and if you think of it as brain food, I think it’s a fun challenge. You mentioned people correcting your pronunciations. I noticed earlier that you now say RAH-vensburger, but you initially pronounced it RAY-vensburger. Did someone “correct” you? I ask because someone did not-so-nicely correct me. And as for for changing the orientation of puzzling, I frequently work from the side, especially when there are two of us working a puzzle. I also will change how I’m looking at it when I feel stuck. That often works to “reset” my puzzle mojo. Again, love your channel.

    • @fortheloveofpuzzles
      @fortheloveofpuzzles  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, someone did correct me (politely) that it is pronounced Rah-vensburger. And even the company has made little videos on how to properly pronounce their name. So know I pronounce it properly or at least a lot more correctly. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    I'd like to have that colourful series:D I reckon Feathers will be the easiest, followed by ribbons then water drops :D Cloudberries are a UK company, and I have both those puzzles. Both are fantastic :) Honestly, I routinely do puzzles from different angles, including upside down. If you're not focusing on the picture, but more on the pieces and the textures, then it's the same as doing it the right way up :) Epicurean is trickier than you might think though. Its actually quite hard to sort sections, as there isn't necessarily a clear one, if that makes sense! But if you need to practice for the competition, you could try doing the puzzle on a surface that you can move around and give yourself 30 minutes from each different side? I've never done a competition myself, but you can see that people often switch places if they get stuck, which does make sense. That's if you're going to be in a team, not if you're solo :D

    • @fortheloveofpuzzles
      @fortheloveofpuzzles  2 года назад +1

      I can't wait to do the Colourful Series - I really hope I enjoy it as much as I think I will. I can see how the Epicurean one could be quite tricky...maybe not the easiest to do upside-down. With my filming setup, I can only puzzle from one side of the table. I could put a board on the table that I could then rotate...?? That could work. For the competition, I'll have all sides of the table available to move around it. Definitely in a team event, good to move around and switch sections you are working on as you just get stuck and stop "seeing" the pieces properly. 💜🧩

    • @Fiobo823
      @Fiobo823 2 года назад +1

      @@fortheloveofpuzzles A rotating board would definitely work. I have to turn my boards around as I have limited space, and I do that if I feel stuck :) Also when I'm puzzling with my exes mum she hogs the right way up, so the rest of us take a different angle. Her puzzle, her rules :D
