Were looking at visiting Dunedin, Clearwater, and now that you say Palm Harbor. Dunedin seems to be the winner for now. Not a fan of touristy congested areas, more a smaller town feel.
Dunedin is SUPER cool, even though I live in S. Tampa, we go to one of those three spots every other weekend or so and Dunedin has the most variety to offer at least from what we've experienced now being here 4 years
Is it possible to be close to the gulf beaches like 10-15 min and have a little more land? Maybe even something in a woodsy setting not more than 40 min from st Pete? I’m gonna be buying a house within the next year or two and currently live in gulfport, but thinking maybe I want more land to have chickens, horses, and privacy, but I go to the beach once or twice a week. Don’t want to give up my beach life. Budget is currently $450,000. May go up though.
Just move to Parrish, homes are cheaper and you’re 35-40 minutes to all The good beaches. You don’t want to be living 10 minutes away from the water during hurricane season unless you got the money to rebuild.

All of those are great options! Dunedin and Tarpon Springs may both be really good options if you like the smaller town feel.

Tampa has great gang activities. Don't worry about the law as they don't enforce existing law.
