Great video. I'm new to all of this and just purchased a 2024 X4 m40i that should arrive any day. I definitely want to install a tune to the new ride after I break the car in. Do you feel MHD is the best tuning software for BMW? Also what exhausts do you recommend? I had a 2021 Jeep Rubicon 392 stolen 2 months ago and had installed a Borla ATAK aftermarket exhaust. Sounded amazing and I know Borla makes an exhaust for BMW. My goal is to add some hp and add some noise without it being obnoxious. Thanks in advance for your help!
MHD is the easiest and safest, bar none. Only platform I use to tune my cars with. Exhaust wise, you'll be more then happy with just a catless downpipe. In sport, it is loud and the turbo noises are to die for. Put it into comfort or eco and then it's essentially stock again. Too good.

MHD says up to 470hp and 463 ft lbs of torque. It definitely feels like that!

@@SixSpeedSouthern the engine has been underrated from stock and puts out about 355 at the wheel. Which means it has about 415 horse power from stock...so you got about 45/50 . Did you know this about the underrating?
What's the trick to remove the kdan cable from the port?
Yo I wanna do this with my new 2024 x4 m40i. I wanna add in just a jb4 tune. But if I’m to do that, I want to also upgrade the charge pipe and intercooler. Would you agree this is wise?

You can remove it via MHD and flash the factory tune. Very easy to do and takes 2 minutes. It gives you the option

How does it affect the engine if I do this am I going to have to worry about running it too hard. Also what do you think about other ECU tunes for the m40i . Like the vivid racing tune which can also improve gas economy?
You dont have to worry about running it too hard. The B58 is an amazing motor. Have another friend running Bootmod3 on his. Havent heard much about vivid racing tune. Most tunes are going to improve mileage. More power and torque helps you get up to speed faster, thus able to cruise

Have you experienced yellowing on the back side of the vehicle? I have a white one too and was hesitant to put on the catless because of that. But I would love to.

my aunt had hers in blue and it was awesome she got rid of it for a mf lexus rx350 f sport it was a downgrade but she still missed it tho it was fast
If something goes wrong and you return it to stock for warranty can BMW see the footprint it leaves ?
Had the issue with Audi, so now I always chip tune, doesn’t leave a trace of a tune once unplugged
Same question i had on my mind i do know that you can return it to stock and flash the entire time off the ecu but i am not sure if BMW can trace it.
@@bhavyaraturi8174 BMW can see it, even when you delete everything. They check Turbo PSI & other stuff..

For stage 2, what hardware upgrades you need to install in the car? Do you need any for stage 1?
For stage 1, a stock car is fine. For stage 2, you need either a high flow catted downpipe or catless downpipe

Are you using xHP for the auto box as Stage 2 ? If not how is it coping with the increase in torque as I guess you will hit the TCU limiter ?
Have ran XHP on my other vehicles, but never on the X3. Never got around to it and never had an issue.

Yes same engine and gearbox

Just as reliable as anything else that comes from MHD. And yes, you can revert back to stock via the software too

There is lots of places. Bimmergeeks, Amazon, etc. MHD has a wireless adapter out now. Go check it out on their website. That's what I use now.

Havent had it on a dyno, but butt dyno says yes for sure, lol! I've put it up against a few 500hp tuned 335s and a 500 wheel nitrous corvette and was ahead of each of them. It's a monster. Cant wait to see where these B58s get pushed to
you plugged in the obd so was the other end connected to the phone as you didn't say it was
I used an MHD Wireless OBD Adapter. Works over WiFi. Can use a cable as well. Several different options
So can you still stage 2 with a stock exhaust on a 2019 M40i x3?
Yes all you need is a downpipe. Can use stock catback

How is this tune compared to Bootmod3 as far as power and smoothness? Does anybody know?
Always used MHD on my cars, so I cant compare to bootmod, but have never had any issues with MHD. Everything functions like factory, just much faster, lol

The 2020s+ have the ECU locked from the factory. You'll have to remove it and send it to a company like bootmod3 and then they can u lock it and bench flash it

The tune I used was for 93 Octane specifically. They offer different tunes, including an E85 Tune

Did you have charger connected
I did not, because the car was essentially new. Battery was fine. Would recommend on an older car/battery. Plus, make sure to turn all accesories off; lights, radio, etc

I didnt. Car was brand new, with a new battery, obviously. Just turned off all the accessories, lights, air, radio, etc. Not necessary to have it on a charger, but good for piece of mind on older vehicles
Will it void warranty?
It should not void your warranty, but if you are worried about it, just flash it back to stock before you go to the dealer. Then you have nothing to worry about
Can you take the tune of your car?
Yep, you can flash back to stock at any time!
How does it sound if you change the exhaust burble options?
The aggresive burble setting is....aggressive. Sounds awesome, lol
Are these wheels stock? Looks pretty poor for m40
Stock 20s! 21s have a worse ride, bend easily and tires are more expensive. Would rather have a sidewall. It's an SUV, not a car
So I put mhd st 2 map on my x3m40i with downpipe-and there is no difference in acceleration comparing with st1(((
Did you notice a difference from stock to stage 1? What flash/tuner are you using?

Guys are running stage 2 with stock DP. Obviously youre not getting all the HP with stock DP but are there any downsides to that? Or is it not recommended?

If you are using a cable, could be an issue with it. I had a bad cable once that would constantly do that

That’s a knockoff mongoose obd cable. The original cable, made for Toyota, cost about $400 10yrs ago

Na don’t get the cable get the MHD adapter it’s way faster ,the cable is too slow.also when you flash it make sure the seatbelt is on
Can you please tell me it will work with x4 m40 2017? And second question if your phone doesn’t have a SIM card so means no access to the internet then how did you purchase stage 2 and flasher? How did you downloaded them after purchase?
Yep, it'll work just the same for an X4 M40i. The phone still has WiFi, just like any phone, so you don't need a cell connection. Just connect to your wifi network
