Enjoy the vids. Have you noticed that UT DNR started differentiating between the Bonneville and Bear River Cutts? But WY and ID still call ‘em Bonnevilles in the Bear River drainage. I think UT calls the Cutts on the North Slope of the Raft Rivers Yellowstone Cutts, but ID calls them Snake River Cutts.
I like the way you and integrating drone footage in here and there. Sweet vid, looked like a really nice stream. I've had my eye on this rod myself, so it was cool to see a video of someone using it.

It's pretty scary how poor run-off was this spring. The rivers ought to be unfishable right now due to high water, but instead they are much lower than normal. We might have some dry outs this autumn if this weather pattern keep going. BTW, I like the Pro Square mostly. I just don't care for the handle shape.

I love your videos! I recently got into Tenkara fishing after hiking a 10 mile trail along a nice stream up in the mountains with a 9’ fly rod and found myself untangling from every branch on the trail. I bought a cheap Wildwater Tenkara kit and fell in love with the style of fishing. I may have to check out this rod next or even the dragon tail rods. Thanks for the reviews
I'd love to see an outtake vid of just you losing flies. I'm fishing in Escalante utah where I live and the stream are all overgrown to the point where most of my casts are bow and arrow.
Mid-May? I saw 90F weather out in PA and there be snow out there XD. We did have a hail storm in NJ which probably the last time was like a decade ago so who knows the temps of the earth could be worse off than we thought
Another great video. I've said before how jealous I am of the scenery around where you fish. Absolutely beautiful. I have to ask. Ha e you tried any of the rods from Tenkara USA? I'm a huge fan of the Rhodo and the Sato. The Rhodo is my go to, fish most of the time with it rod. I love it. The Sato is a bit stiffer but another real gem in there rod line up. My local fly shop actually carries Tenkara USA. Which makes it easier when I need a new tip section. Of course I'm also a Dragontail fan. I really like their Mizuchi. I also have their Hellbender for when I fish the Lackawanna River here in NE PA. I find it handles the larger fish just fine. Thanks again. You have a big fan here in NE PA.

To anybody that loses zingers with nippers and pliers I have a solution. I too used to buy the cheap zingers, lost a handful and then purchased an American made product with a carabiner. Best purchase yet, haven’t lost a tool set.
Been following your tenkara fishing and have a couple questions. First do you select the flies based on matching some local hatch or based on attraction or contrast? Secondly, do some people fish salt water using tenkara for species such as sea trout or striped bass? Thanks!
I first noticed tip action and thought it couldn't be too "cheap". I tend to think of cheap as being junk. I think inexpensive (relatively speaking ) might be a better choice describing it. I imagine the manufacturer might too. I know when I build something for a lesser price and customer says it cheap I cringe and die inside. 😬. Such beautiful water! Stunning! Nice catches too! And find! I have some of those zingers but don't use them just for the reason you found those. They can be stripped of me clawing through brush. Always a great way to start my weekend in town by viewing your outstanding videos!
Also $140 isn't cheap.. There are Tenkara rods in Japan from offbrand companies that go for $30. Nissin is probably one of the 2 major tenkara companies next to Shimano. Sadly Japan doesn't like the US so any goods from there are almost impossible to get to begin with...

we didn't get much rain here in the midwest and the rivers were super low until recently. very odd

In knife making we call that a "hotspot" a place on the handle that doesn't necessarily bite but does not feel good.
If you ever have an opportunity, try to fish the nissin pro spec. it is a zoom version of the pro square but with a better handle

You can always sand the handle done to fit your casting style

How would you compare this against Dragontail rods? They also have superb action (like mutant, mizuchi)
