I love Marvel's characters, but they have a really big issue when it comes to their video games. Spider-Man has always gotten a healthy amount of games, but when it comes to video game preservation, almost none of the Marvel games seem to be a priority. You have tons of games like Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, the Amazing Spider-Man games, X-Men Origins Wolverine and even Deadpool that have been delisted over the years. Even games like the Marvel vs Capcom titles were gone for many years, only recently returning. It's very frustrating to see. #marvel #spiderman #avengers

I want the original Ultimate Spider-Man game back so badly, it’s one of if not my favorite superhero game because of my nostalgia for the comic
Aside from the Sam Raimi Spider-Man 2 game, that was my favorite to play on PlayStation 2. And it certainly would be easier to remake or remaster than game in comparison to the Raimi game

I would like to see the Marvel dungeon crawler games like the X-Men Legends or Marvel Ultimate Alliance games come back because that's how I was introduced to a lot of my favourite Marvel characters.
For me when I first saw guardians of the galaxy I saw the characters design & aesthetic & thought “Oh this game only exists because of the success of the Movies..” which kind of soured my interest in it but later towards release I did decide to preorder it & don’t regret it..
It's a weird situation for sure. I don't think it would have been greenlit without the MCU interpretation so I do understand that feeling. It's pretty valid. At the same time I'm glad I (and you) gave the game a chance. It was surprisingly high quality and it's a shame it didn't get much love or financial support.
A lack of creativity, motivation and passion has been dogging both DC and Marvel, that and the fact they don’t really care about the video game market. I love Spider-man 1 by Insomniac. But as soon as I saw Miles in the teaser trailer. I knew it was over.

There’s a lot of new games coming out from Marvel that I am excited for. Marvel Rivals in Dec 6, 1943 Rise of Hydra, Motive Studios making both Iron Man and Black Panther games, and the Blade Game by Bethesda. Marvel fans shall be eating good in games
We need a remaster or the very least a re-release of Spider-Man web of shadows, Spider-Man shattered dimensions, Spider-Man edge of Time
Spider-Man shattered dimensions to me still probably sits atop The throne of being the best Spider-Man game as every single inch of it is just dripping with love for the character and treats for fans of the character young and old with absolutely no tedium no fluff just pure Spidey fun if I could have just one marvel superhero game back even if it was a full price $70 literal Port I would be in line day one for shattered dimensions

I would like to see the Imperfects remake, just do it like how DC Injustice is a chaotic world and do it here with the Imperfects but instead of heroes turned evil, just have these metahumans take over as the superior superpower beings. That would be interesting!

If people think spider-man 2 is a "bad" game then we are genuinely in a good place for super-hero games because the bar is a lot higher than it used to be.
People overlooking Guardians of the Galaxy was a real shame man.
One game that wasn't mentioned in this video that I would like to see a remake or a remaster of is The Punisher. No, not the 2D beat-em-up that was mentioned. I'm talking about the one that came out in the mid 2000s right around the same time as the Thomas Jane Punisher movie and it even had his voice as Frank Castle in that game, so I guess it was technically a movie tie-in. But despite the reputation that movie tie-in games have, that one was awesome. As was the X-Men Origins wolverine game. More games like those would be ideal, but if they're not going to make new ones, they could at the very least preserve the good games of the past.

I didn’t give the guardians game a chance because you don’t play as all of them. That is really upsetting to me.
One thing that I think doesn't help when it comes to releasing video games about other comic book heroes is sins of the past. My theory about why we haven't gotten a stand alone game for Thor or Captain America in so long is because of those old video game tie ins to their movies. Companies saw that those games weren't big sellers despite that they were rushed out to cash in on successful movies and thought, well if gamers won't play those games then they won't play other games featuring those characters. The same goes for Superman, the last stand alone game he got was Superman Returns which was another tie in game that critics tore apart when it came out. Despite that there has been a huge outcry from his fans lately for a new game some developers are hesitant because Superman's last game was a poor seller on top of his poor reputation in the world of gaming because (and I'm a huge Superman fan saying this by the way) his old games are terrible.
About the Marvel Avengers game: The idea of a live service in my opinion was a good idea. The Avengers team (normally and to me) protect the world from ongoing threats (to themselves and to the world) every day. It would not have filled its full potential, in my opinion, if the Avengers game was a fully single player game. Also, there is risk of not fully being immersed in the game if the devs focused on a hero like Iron Man over Black Widow for example. Not expanding on the lore/background if it is a single player game. So the live service idea was good. However, I agree that the execution of the live service was poorly handled. 6 added heroes (including PlayStation exclusive Spider-Man) is not enough. The missions were very repetitive and copy and paste. This obviously as Jay mentions, impacted everyone's thoughts on the Guardians of the Galaxy Game by the same developers/studio.
I do love the Guardians of the Galaxy game. My GOTY for the year that it released. IMO people/players should have saw the great reviews that it was getting. So the game would have been more successful. Made me sad.
I do also love the Deadpool game by ActiVision. My 2nd fav Marvel character. (Spider-Man being first). IMO there should be a brand new Deadpool game. Especially with today's graphics. So much blood and gore details etc.
I love the Insomniac Spider-Man games. As at time of writing (I live in the UK), I don't have a PS5 yet. (Not getting the PS5 Pro). So I don't have the 2nd Spider-Man game Spider-Man 2. I am looking forward to playing it though.

I want a remake for ps1 spider-man 1&2 that preserves the art style and adds all the bells and whistles of our modern technology with a remaster of stan lee's voice lines with a bunch of new levels and bonus content from the animated show, basically I want the ffvi remake treatment for those games, believe me it will be a money printing machine, and why not throw hulk ultimate destruction in the mix , its not as popular as spider-man but it has a cult following.
I agree that games should be preserved especially games that were enjoyable but I would also say that it comes down to who owns the license and how much money it will take to preserve it which is what companies look at due to not wanting to put money out for a game that won't sell especially when games like Marvel vs Capcom was owned by different parties that have a rocky relationship until recently which is something to keep in mind.
I would say that Marvel games are looking promising due to games like Marvel Rivals, Blade, Wolverine, Iron Man, and Marvel 1943 which are games that seem to have variety between them.
MCU wise I would definitely say that not every movie from phase 1 to 3 was the same quality of Endgame and I would argue that phase 4 and 5 have more good than bad.
This is indeed true Jay. Which is a shame that marvel does have a good library of video games that can be redone well unfortunately the contracts for these ip had expired.
To your question, the game I want to see is one that not many probably remember, but it had the best soundtrack of any game and had the most original fight gameplay of any superhero fighting game. Marvel Nemesis Rise of the Imperfects. A game that, with enough polish, could have been great. And a sequel or even a remaster would be awesome!

My favorite Spidermen in the game was black suit even though it's purple😂😂😂 & noir I loved the gritty details. Honestly I would honestly enjoy playing the game in 1440p 120Hz that would be beautiful. Marvel used to have great movies and shit games while DC had shit movies and great games. Now marvel has shit movies and no games, and DC has no movies and shit games. Here's hoping Superman turns that around and the MCU makes a comeback cuz we've been in the dark ages too long and it's long overdue for us to see the light at the end of the tunnel

Lego marvel has like 2 good games and DC has 3 Lego Batman games and DC supervillains. Spider-Man and Arkham are close but Arkham destroys the PS2 Spider-Man games and the PS4 game alone, Miles Morales is hardly a game by itself and Spider-Man 2 is barely better than 1 and still beaten by Arkham Knight. Marvel is definitely catching up with DC and are pretty close to beating them in the games department purely because suicide squad sucked dicks and balls and they've been doin nothing since then. Here's hoping wolverine isn't shit cuz even though I don't have a PS5 I would probably buy one if wolverine is amazing.
Can't speak on ultimate alliance cuz I haven't ever played it but the old PS2 punisher, blade, and ghost rider games were pretty tight ngl. I wish there was more to go off of in the modern era cuz off the top of my head the Lego games, Spider-Man and Arkham are about all I can even think of to compare. Shit's been dry af, we need a Superman game badly.

Y’all, the Spider-Man 2 game wasn’t a shit game, just disappointing and didn’t live up to the hype. But, Insomniac is still capable to handle more marvel games like they’re planning to. I just hope it’s a return of spider-man ps4 level writing quality.
