OU will do just fine in the SEC, just saying as a Vols fan. There has been nothing but a positive buzz about OU and Texas joining the SEC. They will make the SEC a better conference.

He said not too long ago that he doesn’t want to get back into coaching because he doesn’t want to deal with NIL and the transfer portal stuff. Too much of a headache now.

The way he “left” the OU staff was absolute BS. Would love for Mike to bring Cale onto his staff.
It was complete BS, but Cale hates the new version of college football. He said he's glad he doesn't have to deal with NIL and things like that. even though that's what he was the absolute best at , recruiting.
He already helps his brother a little bit. Mike goes to him to pick his brain and get his opinion on stuff. That’s what Cale said not too long ago.

Cale just said. Patience. But nobody wants to wait anymore. They’re all under the impression that since these players were big time in high school and that they’re getting paid they shouldn’t be able to go through the ups and downs. They’re expected to be perfect from the word “Go”

I've known Cale for a long, long time. He was still a Bomber and not a Sooner when I met him. Him being at OU for so long made me happy. Not much in life is consistent, but he was. I hate what happened and how it was handled. But as always he rose above and is still finding new ways to be successful and compete in an entirely new area of life.
I'd love for Venables to call him and ask him to come back and take over the offense. But I honestly don't know if he would. He hasn't had to recruit. He has had time to spend with his friends and family. His life is just better in every way other than football.

Hey coach V , maybe you should consider moving Coach Gundy into your Offensive coordinator job. This man has a passion for it and I’m not sure what you have there that is currently in this spot does. Something is wrong with the Energy that is in the Offensive leadership. I’m sure you see it. Hopefully you can get a hold of this issue.

They're going to have to put a cap on NIL quickly. Otherwise it'll become pro baseball and whoever has the bigger bank will have the best team. It won't matter about growth and development in a program, it'll just be you purchasing the best players and acquiring the best coach who wants to coach the best players etc.
Venables has had a top 10 recruiting class every year he’s been there. 8th 2024, 5th 2023, 8th 2022. Ahead of Tennessee
Josh Heupel said that his main thing was to get the guys in there that fits his system, and build and develop depth, year 4, this is the most talented and deep Tennessee has been in years including 2022, they rotate 6 defensive tackles and 6 defensive ends, got a veteran LB right behind them, the DBs are more physical compared to the last 3 seasons, they're ready for the big time.

I Don't think its a bad thing at all that we lost the game by 10 points, we're inches close from being where we want to be even with the long list of injuries on offense, Hawkins found ways to score points, we just tan out of time. If we Don't turn over the ball twice and miss a fieldgoal, we're talking about a different story today. OU is close, I think it was pretty harsh of them to drop us all the way down to 21 after that performance against a very very good Tennessee team. If it was any other team, they would only drop us to like 18 max. Am I crazy for calling this a quality loss or something? Any other team would call it that

I had to delete my first response. The coach is to blame for the offensive struggles. He knew not to come to the SEC without an O line. On top of that, start a freshman with no experience and let the experience walk.

Why does everyone treat venebles like he’s the D coordinators. He’s the head coach not the D coordinator. So if you only put out half a team here on the head coach. Yeah he’s done great with the D but he’s responsible for more than that. I don’t get it.

Because he thinks Ole Miss and Mizzou don’t belong in the top 10 is probably the reason he isn’t (croot’n) anymore. The new age college football has been here for some teams and others think like this coach and are playing catch up.

Aaaaand Tennessee completely pulled back and only ran the ball entire 2nd half, they were on track for 40+
This man took a team without its coach without its quarterback and called an offensive game for the players he had left to beat Oregon. Mistake to fire this man over words he read not his words. Should be our offensive coordinator right now maybe JA could use his experience as a qb but now we waisted a 5 star and at least we do have a replacement in MHJ.

i'm Cale Gundy's number 1 fan and advocate! BRING HIM BACK...by any means necessary..
I respect Oklahoma and what they’ve done historically, but the SEC is a whole different animal. You boys are in for a long season that could cause you to blow up the program and start over. You’re better off getting used to losing and look to patiently build things over the next few years. But your time of being automatically 1st or second place is up. Just a word of advice. I’m no expert but I don’t think you get that you’re going to be fortunate to make a bowl game this year. Doesn’t mean you won’t be great again, but everybody cares in and has talent history in the SEC. You’re not a darling anymore
It’s not like we haven’t played sec teams. Scored 45 on Georgia in the playoffs. I admit the sec is a better league, but our problem is the offense sucks. If we had half the offense we have had then we would be competing for a title.

Ok let’s move on to the next one, well that’s going to include a batch of Alabama, ole miss, Missouri, LSU and Texas. Biggest problem to me that you don’t get until you get to the SEC is the physical nature of the games. Even the teams you beat will beat you up physically because they got guys going to the nfl as well. Anyway, I’m just blabbering but I think you get the point.
