Because is just a reskin of Gore/Shagaru. Aside of the crown, they did very little to differentiate them. Gog and Gorm both use the Gore Skeleton, and they look radically different
This is definitely one of the more “out there” monster I’ve seen from a design standpoint. The cool thing about monster hunter that I love is that all of the designs are generally naturally occurring. Obviously we don’t have actual dragons, but the physiological bodies of these creatures make sense and have proper proportions with fire or some other effect thrown in for flair. It doesn’t have the same effect of other franchises where it’s just a crazy looking monster for the effect of being a crazy looking monster with 7 heads, a body made of darkness, etc. The two extra mouths of this monster really threw me for a loop for that reason, it feels almost out of place
Morudomunto is the equivalent of Nergi in my opinion. 1. Cool design 2. Amazing yet bizarre ecology 3. An extremely recognizable theme 4. Loved by many people who have experienced their fights
@@kingofflames738really? Can you provide a source for where I can find this concept art and/or when the developers said that tidbit? I don’t mean to sound rude, I’m just genuinely curious. What you said sounds interesting!
The most interesting thing about Morudomunto is that his wing maws are actually semi consistent with other elder dragons. Valstrax for instance also has hollow wings that connect to an internal organ. Nakarkos also has that and on top of that its wings have fully turned into tentacles which even ties into Moru's flexible wings. Even Gaismagorm seems to have exhausts in its wings.
@@johncronk8867 well I know they have a third pair of limbs like other elders lol but what I’m saying is tentacles and arms aren’t interchangeable with wings, from a design stand point it works but like a tentacle isn’t a wing is what I’m saying
Honestly a Lich King dragon could work in its own sense, I just feel like it borrows to much of it’s aesthetics from the Magalas, and it’s cartoonish arm reaching and mouths on wings is a little too much for me. I’m glad that Explore was a platform that allowed some level of creativity to its monsters, but I don’t think it really fits into the mainline games
This exactly. It's fine for the more ridiculous side games (I don't think we're going to see Valstrax even in a mainline game again because of how absurd it is in the face of evolution and its a *_LOT_* more grounded than some of the other side game monsters,) but I don't see it coming to the much more grounded "speculative biology stimulator" turn the 5th & 6th gen mainline games are taking
Funny thing about this monster, is it uses the Gore Magala skeleton and animation set for almost all of it's attacks. I'd like to see it released in a future game alongside Gore with maybe some lore showing it's connection to the Magalas.
Another overdesigned monster that kills all believability in order to "look cool" and be covered in spikes. No thanks. All of the non-canon side game monster designs can stay forgotten in the trash where they belong.
@@sammckenney8163 Nah objectively correct. Espinas was added to Sunbreak, the floodgates were opened for the shit to happen? Overdesigned has no place in MonHun anymore.
It's body structure reminds me of the magala family
Yup, that’s the model he uses

I’m so excited for wilds, just love watching mh content til then
Always love and look forward to the elder dragon designs
Damn never saw that one anywhere
Explores pretty obscure. Got some sick stuff tho
@@cr-volcanicto be honest this is the first I think I have heard about that game.

Valstrax also has extremely flexible wings, although not quite in the almost-boneless way that Moru’s and Nakarkos’s do.
Nakarkos and gaismagorm don’t have wings?

They do have a 3rd pair of limbs, but unlike other elder dragons, those adapted into tentacles/arms instead of wings.

Ok, I'm not seeing whatever it is that makes you think "Lich Dragon."
Troll Dragon, maybe
IDK, this screams of those Frontier "too goofy for main series" vibes to me. Specially in the more grounded games like World or Wilds, even in 4U.
