Appreciate the breakdown in how they use the scrape during phases of the rut. I had a scrape I setup on and found several bucks who came to it once (and only one time) in the last week of October.
I was raised hunting this way. And I am teaching my grandson to hunt this way. But have found most hunters in my area Just dump corn and sit. Thanks guys!
Great teaching, men. Scrapes will be prime during Archery Season and Alternative Firearms Season here in Arkansas. Come Modern Gun Season, scrape activity will start to slow down.
What’s the likelihood of mule deer using scrapes? I always come across these kinds of things in the woods and hills of mule deer country but always thought they were digging out beds.
Deer, especially bucks love edges. I've killed many bucks on Public Land in MI. with mock scrapes along field edges. Bucks can cover more ground along edges than they can into a dense woodlot. Don't overthink WHY scrapes are along field edges.
I really appreciate these short quick hitter videos on important topics for deer 🦌 hunting 🏹
