That part you've talked about wasn't a cut or anything... It was like an interlude or a brief reminder to some epic moments that happened back in 2018... Also it was like an opportunity for the boys to change their outfits and get ready for the next performance... That's it !
In a way it was a cut. The award show didn't seamlessly transition from the video of the Airplane pt 2 performance to the special vcr created for the show so it left an awkward pause. The guys were already changing during the Airplane performance. They were getting into place during the vcr.
BTS Dionysus Comeback Special Stage M Countdown (just realized he already did a reaction to this one, but a revisit never hurt! :D). 2016 MAMA BTS - FIRE is also very good. Also I love Payton being on there. Such a refreshing analysis!
It was Jungkook singing that you thought was recorded on the track and also I hope you understand that they work so hard to not make mistakes for their fans and thats why people are loving kpop now including you. Hopefully people understand that they work hard and I hope you realize that they practice so much before they go onto the real stage.
I love that you are always bringing people in who come at these reactions with different perspectives. It shows how much you care about the hard work that goes into each performance. And it gives us deeper understanding as well.
Can't really blame them, both are new to the song an know nothing about it. Plus, Payton is not wrong with the backdrop. It really does look like an Egyptian Temple. I always think this when I see it. =P But everything is 10/10 for me. The performance, Music, clothing. Absolutely amazing, every single time I see it. It literally never gets old. xD
It's actually not a 'latino song' it's a more of an international song with barely one or two latino words, Korean, English and an Arabian backdrop. It was literally kinda controversial when it came out cause people were saying that there were Muslim prayer in it but there was no such thing. The song literally gives a multitudes of moods.
@@milk6808 They wanted to give latino feel, they said it in a interview.. they are literally wearing mexican clothes.. i didn't know Jack Sparrow was Mexican.. And just the words "El mariachi" says everything if you know what it means!

when haters said that BTS is talentless.. they should watching this reaction video, cause this two awesome guy has really know about the tempo and the color voice of BTS. thanks for this reaction!
I love how your friend comes jaming. It becomes so much fun and more interesting and also getting to know more how camera works on stage.Great job to both of you guys. Can't wait for part 3 🥰
Thanks for sharing this reaction. Their wardrobe changes during concerts are no joke but it wasn’t quite as epic here as you might think..... they pre-recorded Airplane Pt 2 the day before to have broadcasted while the members changed and the staging was adjusted.... if you notice the stage configuration during the first song and then see what they were doing for the third song it will make more sense why they needed a few minutes to swap between...... this is standard practice for some of the bigger shows for groups who perform more than one or two songs, especially if there is significant stage adjustment or wardrobe changes to make. If you watch fan cams, you can sometimes see the guys come out during that video portion and still sing and dance through part of the song until they need to get in final position for the live feed.... they were singing live during the pre-show recording as well as during the live segments. There is a Bangtan Bomb video showing the days leading up to this performance with them practicing in the studio and then rehearsal and taping and then the live show..... they put so much freakin work into their performances.... there is a fan reload of that video with English subs if you have a chance to check it out..... I highly recommend it.... and it shows some of the camera work..... the 2018 MAMA HongKong performance is LIT as well and no pre-recorded performances..... and I am not sure if it is a regional thing, but we usually call the video compilations and such that they show before or in between performance “VCR”..... 💜😬☮️. Sorry for the long comment. Loving your reactions and the insight in to the technical 🤟🏼
This is how I generally read the whole performance: - At the end of Fake Love when they put on a mask (not being themselves anymore), they disappear as in they lost themselves to the facade that they decide to put up (being idol and must be perfect in public or how people have to act a certain way to be accept in society). - From self doubt song like Fake Love we go on a journey of self finding like Airplane part 2. - From this journey we finally love ourself and where we come from in IDOL song (that's why BTS show their Korean root in performance). Thus the most celebratorial feel in this performance. If you like this song, I recommend you to react to Airplane Part 2 with INTRO version in MAMA Hong Kong 2018. Do it with a director again to compare this version to another one. BTS tend to mix thing up even they perform the same song but for different shows. It'll be fun to spot the difference. I also love this combo of vocal coach and director perspective on shows. Please make this happen more regular if you can. p.s. I can't help but imagine how hectic the backstage must be between the songs because they change outfit so quick! I won't be surprise if they use stripper technique to slip off the cloth quicker to get into another one.
I love your reactions so much!!! It's so interesting to hear about the people working backstage. It's so great I keep coming back and re-watching the BTS MMA videos. I'm really looking forward to part 3. Keep up the amazing reactions!
Payton is so refreshing. He has amazing insight and it's all so fascinating to listen to, for real! Any live *Dionysus* performance would probably be really cool and interesting for him to react to because there is a lot of camera choreography to go with all the movements on stage. If he does any work with music videos, *Dope* is a really good one to check out, or *Save Me* (which is a one take video - it'd be cool to react to it and to the behind the scenes).
the thing that Payton said about ppl waiting for the below the stage...that reminded me of 'break the silence' BTS were performing and those ppl were all trying to keep the stage steady with their hands so that it won't break...I was shocked when I saw that! #LEGENDS
I want to recommend MAMA 2018 at Japan stage which is FAKE LOVE, that one is amazing too cuz they did dance break, where I got chill. The second one is MAMA 2018 at Hong Kong which is Airplane pt 2, where the intro was chef kiss! Must watch it! hhehe tq
YaaaaaaaaY part 2!! You guys are brilliant!! Looove the professional analysis and everything you mention re technical info!!! Keep it up!!! This is what makes you different!!! This fandom is full of people from different backgrounds, ages - those of us in love with music but holding degrees in other areas will eat these kinds of reactions up!!! Thank you both and wish you all the best!! 💜💜💜
I know that this is a year old video but the reason why the camera man knows what to shoot or know where to exactly point the camera is because they do some rehearsals before the actual live show and also, there are too many cameras on stage so you won't miss one
Mama 2019? If you mean, Mama 2018 held at Japan..that is really cool despite that too dim lights..though I can't hardly see bts break dance of fake love..
OMG WHAT NO-I'm so ready for part 3 lmao. Even though I've the performance a million times. Can't wait for your reaction though. Thanks a lot for providing SUCH interesting insight on so many different aspects of their performance. Glad you're both enjoying it so much!
no they didnt mess up they actually finished airplane pt2 (the song you were listening to) till the end! and after that they showed memories from 2018 for the members to get ready for the new song.
I LOVE this combo reaction from these two perspectives! More of this please! Keep up the great content. I recommend BTS Dionysus Live and Dope HYYH version Live.
There is a behind the scene of this performance. It’s about how they practice for the show and funny moments. Pls check it out!!!! I really love your reaction 😍😍
Dude, you need to invest in a laptop or at least a tablet. You miss so much watching this on the small screen of your phone. The film was intentional. It was an interlude so they could get the dozens of people in place for the upcoming number. Wish you hadn't broke this up into parts. We're totally fine with long reactions. @@itsleinaa Since I sat here and watched it, I'm well aware that it's a director and vocal coach reaction. Thanks for stating the obvious. @@itsleinaa I was slightly dissatisfied with this one reaction. I made a suggestion, not an edict. Get over yourself. I'm entitled to my opinion like everyone else.
You two together are so informative! My favorite reaction to this video (out of many) I've seen, so far. In their concerts and other live performances (mostly Asian shows) they have a cameraman (with someone to guide him) on the stage with them, as close as 2-3 feet sometimes. I haven't seen that in US shows, possibly it would hinder other cameras? I like the results, regardless.
Omg, I love Payton and his perspective. So good and new for me. Please react more to live performances of BTS and maybe their mv's. Thanks and looking forward!
"They know the song obviously" we know the group lol, that was new. The first and last song was live and during the award. The 2nd song was also live but pre-recorder so they could have time to prepare the stage and change clothes for the 3rd song. The order is Fake Love, Ariplane pt 2 and interlude + Idol. The video shown was a little summary of the recent times (if it was about they beginings, they would not have shown such a huge audience. They only had their first own concert 3 years after debuting, the company was in debt at the time so you can imagine their beginings were low). The first song, Fake Love, is about not knowing onself, about having changed and put on a mask so you can be the person others want you to be, the person you tought you should be so you can be loved by others. The 2nd song, Airplane pt2, is about a boy who loves to sing and will do so everywhere (latino song). The 3rd song, Idol, has lots of references, instruments and dance moves from Korea. It's about loving oneself, loving your roots, your different "me"s, about not giving a fck about what others say or define you as because whatever it may be, they: can't stop you from loving yourself
Looking forward to part 3!!!! Yes to Payton joining for more!!!! Looking forward to it!!!! Love every pause you guys took to talk about the different vocal and production elements!!!!
Most of the BTS' performances at the Melon Music Awards were excellent performances. Among them, the 2018 and 2016 stages are the most popular among fans. If you want to see more of the camera's movements and performance together, I recommend you watch the 2016 MMA stage, which was performed by BTS.
Not only are BTS members perfectionists but their staff etc., work super hard. If one of them make a small mistake that we don’t even notice they literally cry after the performance. They give their best and they are accustomed to everything working perfectly. Listen to their interviews at the Grammys yesterday (RYan S) you’ll see what this means.
These guys are very creative. When they move you'll never know what's will happen next. So, just wait .... amazing amazing BTS. I could say this is a-top of the world stage performance.
One of my favorite Bts MAMA performances, thank you for reacting, wasn't sure if you were going to do it. I think most if not all MAMA Performances are spectacular. I'm glad we can watch your reaction without getting blocked, I find some of my reactor friends have trouble with alot of videos, from mvs to concerts to live anything. It's really frustrating. But thank you so much Justin, I love your channel l.💖
I come from a Threatre background ( I did film and editing while at university)and I've been singing/playing in Bands since I was 15. This is why I'm enjoying the break down so much as I keep saying oh I know how that bit been done and end up with a big smile on my face as your guest confirms what I'm thinking.
bts has tour documentaries that show us the behind the scenes !! from planning, to rehearsing, to what happens during the live show. their costume changes included 😌
The very first clip where they fall is prerecorded and they change in the time when the VCR is playing so it basically adds some cinematic effect and buys artists time. The yellow marks aren't their positions, those are the like parts of the stage that goes down like in the beginning of Airplane Pt. 2 Jungkook came up from that. It's marked like that to avoid any accidents/ so that they don't step on the one that's already down. It leads to the backstage
It's a live and pre-recorded video mixed performance. The fog, the costume changing, the part they disappearing, the whole Airplane pt.2 performance are all pre-recorded videos. It's pretty common in Korean awards or end of the year festival shows since the performances are usually very complicated. Normally the more performance oriented parts will be recorded videos or it will be one live and one recorded video. The audience there will either watch the video like us or sometimes the artists will perform a live version there too.
i loved Payton please bring him more often to some of your reactions i loved how both of you are concentrating on different things and filling us in different perspectives.
Everyone is talking about the interlude in these comments. He was not commenting on the interlude as a whole, but the specific transition in the interlude where the camera crew filmed the video itself then switched to a shot of the audience. He knows what the interlude is.
With Payton there, and you guys watching for camera work, I think it'd be great to see his reaction to the BTS Intro Performance Trailer. It's fairly famous because they performed this live, but the program they performed for, the cameraman did such an awful job, you barely got to see the performance at all. BigHit had the boys redo it later so they could tape it themselves and show how it should've been properly shot. It was one of the most savage moves BigHit made on behalf of their artists, to make sure the boys' hard work was showcased properly. They shot it from 3 angles - one they named Very Good Camera, the 3rd one up close, and the 2nd one, they named Good Camera, which was just a fixed angle from above that showed the entire group. Basically, with that second one, they were saying the program cameraman could've stayed home, and the performance would've been shot better. And then posted the entire thing online for the world to see. Original Performance: ruclips.net/video/kWuNi-OLLgU/видео.html BigHit's Re-Shoot: ruclips.net/video/hoTBL39i60M/видео.html

I like Peyton
He's so passionate about what he does.
Yeah for Payton!! Love both reactions!!
Looking forward to part 3!!!! Yes to Payton joining for more!!!! Looking forward to it!!!! Love every pause you guys took to talk about the different vocal and production elements!!!!
i want to listen to payton talk all day. great reactions cant wait for the next.
OMG why stopped before the Idol performance :( Hope you can upload soon the Part 3. Thankss guys for the reactions.
I love your friend
He is so passionate about the whole thing
this collab is great. I love Payton's input through the whole thing, really cool. can't wait for part 3 :)
Most of the BTS' performances at the Melon Music Awards were excellent performances. Among them, the 2018 and 2016 stages are the most popular among fans.
If you want to see more of the camera's movements and performance together, I recommend you watch the 2016 MMA stage, which was performed by BTS.
omg you're killing me, i've been waiting for the rest of the reaction since the first one came out😂
This is how you do a reaction video. Great knowledge, great perspective, great everything.
Wow, I never appreciated how good the camera work is, but it really is so important to the performance.
yall wont ever be ready for the part 3 omg the next one is just 💣💣💣
P.S the first song played was Fake love and then it transitioned to Airplane pt2
MMA is a award show . BTS always turn every award show into their Concert
These guys are very creative. When they move you'll never know what's will happen next. So, just wait .... amazing amazing BTS. I could say this is a-top of the world stage performance.
I waited for this vid for sooooo longggggg
IDOL (PART 3) IS LITERALLY THE BEST IM SCREAMING WHYYYYYYYYYY
One of my favorite Bts MAMA performances, thank you for reacting, wasn't sure if you were going to do it. I think most if not all MAMA Performances are spectacular. I'm glad we can watch your reaction without getting blocked, I find some of my reactor friends have trouble with alot of videos, from mvs to concerts to live anything. It's really frustrating. But thank you so much Justin, I love your channel l.💖
I love how the other guy is focused on the vocal and singing. While the other is focused on the camera angles and the video and performance.
I come from a Threatre background ( I did film and editing while at university)and I've been singing/playing in Bands since I was 15. This is why I'm enjoying the break down so much as I keep saying oh I know how that bit been done and end up with a big smile on my face as your guest confirms what I'm thinking.
I screamed when you stopped like whaaaaaaaaat I’ll be waiting
The 2016 MAMA Awards BTS -Boy Meets Evil + Blood Sweat & Tears + Fire - Full Performance was pretty epic!!
I love your friends comments, part 3 is the best part! only get better!
Lots of love from Brazil
You don't know the definition of legendary until you see the next part
Please, please hurry with part 3 cause I can't WAIT to see your reactions!! It's out of this world!
bts has tour documentaries that show us the behind the scenes !! from planning, to rehearsing, to what happens during the live show. their costume changes included 😌
It leads to the backstage
oh my god you're both gonna be blown away by the Idol performance! so excited for it!
Yo these two have great dynamics, love them.
i loved Payton please bring him more often to some of your reactions i loved how both of you are concentrating on different things and filling us in different perspectives.
Yes I love Peyton’s insights!
I like it when professionals dissect a video and explain it so clearly; i'm all about details, theories and symbolism 😆
Everyone is talking about the interlude in these comments. He was not commenting on the interlude as a whole, but the specific transition in the interlude where the camera crew filmed the video itself then switched to a shot of the audience. He knows what the interlude is.
I love watching people’s fall in love with bts
