    My advice for new collectors is to get the SNE498 solar tuna if someone wants to experiment with the tuna can design. If they grow on you then you definitely need to get a one with the 7C46 movement such as the SBBN043 or 049.

    The baby tuna reminds me of the baby orange monster....it was BIGGER than the normal monster!
    Just subbed to your channel, I was lookong for reviews on Tunas - I've never owned one. Butnlately, Ive been given the opportunity to purchase a 'baby' tuna. - thanks for this straight forward review of all the Tunas!

    I actually prefer quartz the more I go further with my watch collection. Especially with the tuna. I will definitely get a quartz Tuna in the future.

      Same here, I've got tired of always having to set time, day and date every time I pick up a watch that is not running. Plus I have to take inaccuracy into account.

    Owned two ‘real’ Tuna 300m watches at different times (SBBN007, SBBN033) as well as the Solar Golden SNE498. Ended selling the 300’s because I rarely wore them, but kept the Solar.
    I love the Solar. Much lighter on a Zulu strap.
    I’ve owned/flipped about 25-30 Seiko watches, and my SNE498 is a keeper.
    *The SNE573 (solar, 38.5) is my favourite of the last several years.

    The same feeling I had with my Urban Safari Baby Tuna. I tried it with my 3 year old and it fits her. I swapped a thinner ali express straps and it was a perfect fit. I have very small wrist but I tend to like bigger even prefer the sumo hulk than it despite being okay on my wrist. It does not speak to me personally but does look nice with my daughter.

    with your sbbn tuna how would you say it compares in terms of size with the solar tuna? I'm torn between buying a sbbn around 1.1k or buy a cheaper sne497 and get a aftermarket steel shroud. kind of like a baby sbbn tuna for a third of the price? the bezel on the sne498 I got has me leaving wanting a better bezel action. ultimately the sne498 is a small watch on the wrist for sure on my 6.75 inch wrist but not sure the sbbn would feel to big

    • @Felix_love_watches
      @Felix_love_watches  Год назад

      Hey AL, simple answer is get both. Golden Tuna for the out and about & SBBN for something fancy and special. I would ask you to go to retail shop to try out the SNE498 and buy if you like it. Just knowing it won’t replace the SBBN, The SBBN worth the money (3-4 times), it’s truely amazing. Also give you an comparison, you think the spb147 is premium finishing; but the sbbn finishing is on top of spb147, hope that make sense? The SBBN is legend, think of it it has exactly the same fit and finish as MM300 with 8L movement, just different specialty and movement, but both represents the high quality of fit and finish as MM300.

      @Felix_love_watches was at the mall today and tried on the sbbn045 and it felt awesome and looked the business, as I went to twist the bezel and it was softer then butter it felt so cheap compared to the other seikos out there. was shocked by how soft it was. maybe the new generation sbbns are like that? is yours the sbbn031 and if so how's the bezel click feel like? also tried on the 1000m tunas and they where way to big but the bezel action on that one was absolutely 10/10

      @@SeikoLeaks there you go mate, that buttery smoothness is in my eyes the icing on the cake on the new Gen of sbbn line. It’s been reported all over lot of channels so it’s not a QC issue, it’s a beautiful design and engineering aspects in my eyes.

    Having just see the tunas, I love their design. However, spending ANY money on quartz makes no sense (unless you are a professional) - all that spent on a quartz movement a USD 30 watch can do. INSANE!! I am torn between a Solar Tuna, a Monster automatic and a Citizen diver automatic. I love the tuna though.

    • @pk1342
      @pk1342 8 месяцев назад +1

      By that logic you should only spend an extra 100 dollars on the same watch equipped with an sw200 as opposed to 30 dollar quartz. Yet many will pay >1000 for sw200 equipped watches. You can't explain the cost difference between quartz and mechanical through "value". It is better explained by marketing/indoctrination.
