  • Starting up my Thunderbird once or twice trough the long winter, decided to record it, it got no choke atm, so it got to get some heat to keep it idling by herself

      Yeah i'm going to change out a bunch of stuff in the near future, already the starter is not kicking out sometimes, so gotta rarely hit it with something to engage

    @Robert Mackay Lyhus: I've got a question: What's the trick to starting this car? I just received this same year of T-Bird from my Uncle, and I can get the electric to kick on when I turn the switch, but it's no crank, no start otherwise. I replaced the old gas & charged the battery. Any tips for a youngster?

    • @TheTrainfan001
      @TheTrainfan001  5 лет назад +3

      Checked if the starter get power? And if so, if the starter dont turn it might be the starter broke, and if the starter turns, but you just get a bad noice, it might be the "cog wheel" that the starter goes on has worn down its teeth, i had to change my "cog wheel"

      Once you get the electrical part figured out, get a good quality carb. You get in, press down on gas pedal, wait, crank and it should light right up.

      In this video, there was the original carburettor and starter from 1962, all worn out, and also bad coil and sparkplugs, as i have changed it all now. It fires better than a modern diesel in the same cold
