Thanks for the tour!!! I adore the idea of a family craft room instead of a fancy sitting room or dining room. For those lucky enough to be able to be home owners, I love looking at homes that actually get lived in.
A multi purpose craft room where you and your loved ones can work on separate crafts and still spend time together is such a wonderful idea. Also, I'm glad you refer to kallax sizes the same way I do by using the grid pattern.
It is so cute how you, your husband, and kid can all chill in the same room, all while doing your own hobbies! Literal goals. Thanks for sharing with us, I am so excited to see what you sew next!
You are clearly a sister from another mother.... sewing, embroidery, crafting, painting AND gaming? Yes. Definitely another sister. (And note, while my kids are grown, we still have a ton of Brio/Thomas train stuff in the basement, and legos pretty much in every room.) And while I am not a medical doctor, I am an AP Biology teacher. So proud of all that you are are accomplishing, the creative juices that fire you up on your off time. Thank you for sharing!
I adore the family craft room! My son always gets excited and sets up shop with random stuff whenever I'm sewing. We chit chat and he brings me bandaids when I stab myself with pins.
I like how you have incorporated crafting into your everyday life instead of shoving it away like your dirty little secret, it's big and bold and part of your whole self/life. I love that! Very creative! :) Gives me new ideas!
You underestimate the nosiness of your subscribers, Christine! We will willingly gobble up all the bits of your house you are willing to show us! Thanks for sharing the saga of this move; I hope, after all that's happened so far, the rest of your settling in goes smoothly!
Thanks for the tour of your new home. I admire you so much for how much you and your husband get done with your hobbies, not to mention your day job. I love your garments especially the amazing embroideries.
The world of crafters would collapse without Ikes’s Kallax! Those 2 x 4 units are the base of life for anyone who does anything even remotely crafty. Love your setup there, you must be so pleased with how it’s coming along ☺️
I love the idea of a shared crafting space ❤ we're currently renovating an old (1909) farm and the next stage will be to redo an attic into a drawing, sewing, painting, everything room. I'm very excited!
The new sewing/crafting space is really gorgeous! Making it a sort of family space that doubles as a living room is such a great idea, I love it. And the mounted fabric sheers, sort of like mounted swords but Sewist Edition? Amazing. Also, oooh I get a tiny bit jealous about the fabric shelf in the back (it does however also make for inspiration for my own future sewing space - RIP my bank account). I cannot wait to see the garments that will be made in this new space! Loads of love from Germany! 💕
So lovely to see the new space! I love the idea of a communal family craft room, I think that's very sweet. I am so glad you're finally settled and can't wait to see future projects from the new house!
Congratulations on your new place. It’s great! So many awesome things you’ve got. I love the sewing room! Love the fact that you all got a space to be creative and that there is room for being your selves. It’s very important in a relationship to have this and I know (from past experiences) that not every one is so lucky. Best wishes to you all. ❤
Glad you are enjoying your new home. Its coming along nicely. Its a lt of fun to see how one's home evolves over time. If you ever decide to have the top of your table be one piece, its easy to do. Saw off a small bit of the middle sides, drill holes, fill them with glue, put dowels and join each side. Home Depot will allow two free cuts per item. Or you could saw it yourself.
Congratulations on your new home! You’re such an inspiration to me and I’m happy you shared your new sewing space with everyone! Also it would have been cool to see the kitchen, but I think maybe it’s just me because I love old houses. ❤
Congratulations on all the major projects completed. Love the room for sewing, play, miniature work, and TV. Awesome. The game/dining table is brilliant. May this new abode be lovely for you and your family. Best wishes.
That gaming table is the perfect hybrid for living and playing. I can more than empathize with the need for heat (unless it is also humid which wilts me body and soul) I am always the one who gets into the hot car and says, "love this". The crafting, sewing, embroidery, child play set up looks very efficient. LOVE the animal bag collection!
I just discovered your channel after seeing a video where you appeared on Rachel Maksy talking about wearing vintage clothing and I am totally hooked. Followed you after just watching a couple of videos. I just started delving into sewing this year although my main hobbies are polymer clay and art journaling/Mixed Media. You have my dream home, wish I had as much space as that. We live in a tiny two room flat.
I finally do feel guilty at having all my rooms filled up with my hobbies 😹😹😹finally someone who lives and breaths their dreams of hobbies and even managed to find a partner who shares that same lifestyle 🤗🤗🤗and turned it into a real family unit. I am going to have to get me two gaming tables they will be perfect for two of my hobbies, painting and diamond art pictures, to be able to work on them and then to hide them away would be perfect specially the diamond art as they are huge pictures, not having to put away all of the little trays of diamonds would be huge, it takes me almost 40 minutes to setup but an hour to pack it all away again, so that would be almost 2 hours I could be using to work on the pictures. Love the way you have it all setup you both know what you want and are living the dream. I love your hubbies cabinet I will have to get one for my hubby as he’s into miniatures as well.
That's an absolutely brilliant use of space for the whole family, I sincerely hope it works out as well as it looks like it will! We tried to do something like that in the basement but turns out after all our other hobbies there's not room for sewing down there too so my sewing is spread out over the living room (which I share with a rabbit who likes to chew things so he at least keeps me from leaving stuff within his reach, and his crate makes an acceptable cutting table) and the upstairs (fabric storage and ironing setup). I'm hoping to clear out one of our spare rooms that's still full of someone else's junk to make a sewing room, but there's a lot of work that I'm only in the mood to do occasionally so that's not progressing well at all.
💖👑👑💖🎬🎥📽👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼Sawstine l love your home and how you have set it all out and its going to be a super place to rasie your son .Your son is going to learn so many hobbies. l love how creative you are and how you bring it all in your home love your setup Thank you so much for showing .💖😊💖
Woah you painted that Futurama painting!?!? I’ve been a fan of the channel for what feels like years and I’ve been impressed every single video, but for some reason that has my yaw on the floor.
Your jiji plush on the mantle pleases me. I have the same one. If you want to fix the gap in the table, you can get a biscuit cutter and some long clamps, and join the halves with biscuits and glue. Aww yeaaah, Wyrmwood ftw! And a Prophecy at that!
That is an amazing craft room! But I about fell over when I saw Tom Servo & Crow on the mantel! I actually gasped out loud! I’ve been a huge fan since the 90s & invested in the Kickstarter for the Gizmoplex. I subscribed to your channel for the amazing sewing, but I’m staying for the MST3K & Futurama fandom.
Your sewing room is similar to mine. Mine is “The MPR” (multi purpose room) where my sons can hang out with me, and my husband can also work on his custom fishing rods and fly tying. Congrats on getting heat.
Oh new (to us) houses! Never a dull moment! Happy to see you new set up. Hopefully you and your family will be able to spend countless hours together in your warm crafty corner :)
A little word from Montréal (Québec, Canada), I am flabbergasted by all you produce that are practically museum quality. Are you planning to open a costume shop? You are very talented 👏.
I'm envious of the dining/gaming table and the dining room. What would have been our dining room has been my husband's art studio since he bought the house (before we even knew each other), so we have a small dining table with pull-out extending panels in the living room and have to squeeze the gamers around that (with a smaller table on top for the actual gaming o, as the entire dining table surface gets covered in character cheets, dice mats, drinks and gaming snacks... sometimes a few BJDs as well since half of our gaming group are also doll enthusiasts and most of my collection are within reach of the dining table)
of course you finally get heating when spring rolls around 😭 glad you have an hvac system now!! can’t wait to see all the projects you make in this new house & i’m sure you’ll make many memories in this 200 year old house! ♥️
What a beautiful and completely functional family work space. Heat included (which is always good). Nice to see that the 'twins' are settling into a work routine for your embroidery. Well done. And enjoy! - Cathy (&, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
I love it that it's a family shared space. ❤I'm not sure if I would trust anyone painting anything next to me. But also I never had a Baron that was super careful with splashing 😅
Congrats, Sewstine! I hope you'll feel more and more truly at home in your new place. Let there be no more nasty surprises about your house.:-) Here's to having the budget to decorate and renovate however your hearts desire.
The space is amazing! And no word of a lie, I actually jumped when I saw the table... I just backed their recent Kickstarter for the modular table because I'm a woodworker and there's no way I could possibly match their quality... and your table is a step up from that! Very exciting. 😊 Also... I realise I may be weird here, but... any chance of seeing some of your husband's minis? That's another of my hobbies and it's always super fun to see what other people are doing. Anyway. Yes, fantastic space, and I can't wait to see what you're making. 😊 Your videos always make me happy!
lol as someone who bought a 1921(ish - might actually be older, town records are incomplete & town was est about 1880s as a military outpost) fixer-upper "I don't have any more money to fix this house" is SO RELATABLE hahahahaha :,)
If you want some fun costume inspiration watch the movie Seven Birides for Seven Brothers. It's based in the 1800s Oregon backwoods and the costumes are absolutely beautiful for both the men and the women.
I'm so glad you're getting settled in your excellent new space. I'm curious about the software you use for digitizing. I digitized a few things when my kids were young, but that was several years ago, and the software I used is no longer. I would love to learn about your digitizing methods.
Wow! Love it! I've been hoping for this and I and so glad you are finally getting settled into your new home! I'm looking forward to your future videos; you are an inspiration!
I’m in awe of how productive you are. Sewist (historical costumer at that), mom, gamer, and a literal doctor. I applaud you.
And RUclipsr!
Thank you so much!!!
I was thinking the same thing, there are days when I cant even drag myself to do just my job. Sigh.
Thanks for the tour!!! I adore the idea of a family craft room instead of a fancy sitting room or dining room. For those lucky enough to be able to be home owners, I love looking at homes that actually get lived in.

awww that's so sweet!!
Welcome to Jersey! You are a Jersey girl now, and you can't pump your own gas. Your sewing room is fabulous, and creations are awe inspiring.
I love the way you've made the spaces in your home reflect your interests and be absolutely functional!!!
Welcome back❤
Yay! Congratulations on everything! As my father would say blessings on you! Pam
Thank you!!

Love the family that crafts together vibes. Beautiful!
What a fantastic Family space!! That is brilliant, having room to create together!
Thank you so much!!
Tom Servo and Crow!!!! 😍
I love your new sewing room just as much as your old one!

I love that you have created a home that works for your life and needs brilliant ❤
Oooh! I love your house. And also the built in corner cupboards in your dining room!
Yay, your new sewing room set-up is fabulous, love it!
That is the greatest living room ever!
Mine is my sewing space too, but without the space or the style.
Congrats on your updates! So glad things are settled for your family now. Your family craft space is genius!
Ok the whole place is cool, but the unexpected Tom Servo robot just made my day
Congratulations on your new place. It’s great! So many awesome things you’ve got. I love the sewing room!

Amazing crafting space! Love it. Also, every time I see your videos I think, "Smart, gorgeous, AND nerdy?!?! Really cannot beat that trifecta."
You have a beautiful set up for your crafting and love the sewing table and a really good size too!
Congratulations on your new home! You’re such an inspiration to me and I’m happy you shared your new sewing space with everyone! Also it would have been cool to see the kitchen, but I think maybe it’s just me because I love old houses. ❤
Love the new sewing / crafting room. We are house hunting and a high priority for me is a sewing /crafting space.
Congratulations on all the major projects completed. Love the room for sewing, play, miniature work, and TV. Awesome. The game/dining table is brilliant. May this new abode be lovely for you and your family. Best wishes.
This is literally my dream house 😮😮😮

Was just thinking about you and now I know why I haven't seen you in a while. Great looking set up.

I love that you are all creating together! So fun. And shout out to the Thomas roundhouse on the gaming table…
Love it!!! I love my dream box! It's been in storage for over 2 years, and I miss it so much. Chicago looked like so much fun!!
Your sewing room is similar to mine. Mine is “The MPR” (multi purpose room) where my sons can hang out with me, and my husband can also work on his custom fishing rods and fly tying. Congrats on getting heat.

So fun to see your new house. It looks really functional and cool! I especially like the table in your dining room.

OMG the fireplace mantels in that room are gorgeous! I may do a facing like that for my non-working fireplace. Anyway love your new sewing room! ❤

Love your new space! Thank you for sharing!
Whenever I see a new notification on the channel, I get so excited! Congratulations on your new sewing room 👏🏽
I'm in love with your animal bags. I want one so badly. Pink triceratops is what I need in life. I love how much space you dedicated for hobbies
Will the Felicity pocket make its way into you Etsy shop in the future? Like not too soon but would be great for Christmas ☺️
I love your new creative spaces! Being able to craft and create together is brilliant! What are your favorite games?
Congrats on the warm new house! It is a dream.

Thank you so much!!

8:10 It’s such a beautiful table!
Wow! Love it! I've been hoping for this and I and so glad you are finally getting settled into your new home! I'm looking forward to your future videos; you are an inspiration!
