That is a great question! The drag & drop method doesn't offer the "delete pages after extracting" option like the Extract tool does. Thank you for watching!
Hello, I was working on some plumbing diagrams at work on Adobe acrobat Pro Dc last Friday and this morning couldn’t find those docs. Checked the history and nothing is showing how can I see if anyone deleted it? Or how do I retrieve?? Please help!
Thank you for watching! I am really sorry to hear that your files are missing. That sounds like an issue related to where you store your files rather than an issue with Acrobat, so I'm afraid I don't have any suggestions. I wish you all the best in locating them!
Thank you for watching! I haven't encountered that issue, so I'm afraid I can't offer a specific suggestion. If you believe the issue is with the software rather than your computer, please consider contacting Adobe support. I wish you all the best finding a solution!
Hi I'm extracting separate files & it works well, but the files have numbers added to the end. So filename 1, filename 2 & so on. This really good but is there an easy way to change to letters so filename A, filename B. Great tutorial by the way. Thanks
That is an excellent question! Unfortunately, I am not familiar with an easy way to change multiple file names to letters rather than numbers (other than to do so manually, of course.) If I stumble upon a solution, I will be sure to post about it. Thank you so much for watching!
@@erinwrightwriting thank you for trying. I use cad & we convert the cad files into a multiple report pdf combined files for admin/production use. Problem is our production department now wants the drawing files individually to input onto their system which is very frustrating! Various part drawing are suffixed with letters rather than numbers, so that's the back story. Suppose it's got to be get into explorer & get renaming! 😕. Great detail on your tutorials. Thanks
Thank you for watching! I understand your frustration. Adobe almost always offers a free trial for the full version of Adobe Acrobat, so if you only have to do a small amount of extraction, that may be an option.
If i am trying to extract 1-3,4-6,7-9 ranges as separate PDF files, like it should be 3 individual files first from 1-3, second from 4-6 and third from 7-9 then it is extracting all 9 pages separately. Not creating files as I expected.
Thank you for watching! I am sorry to hear you are having trouble extracting groups of pages from your PDF. In the Extract toolbar, ensure that "Extract pages as separate files" is not checked. Best of luck!
I think you’re describing an extraction of 3 different ranges all at once, and then having it automatically create 3 separate files for those ranges. Adobe doesn’t do this. There is another application called PDFSam that does this; it’s awesome. It’s unfortunate Adobe can’t do this.
Thank you for watching! I am sorry it didn't work for you. This tutorial is for Adobe Acrobat, which does require an account with Adobe because it is a paid product.
All the steps shown here appear on my blog at erinwrightwriting.com/extract-pages-from-pdfs-in-adobe-acrobat/. Thank you for watching!
thank you erin, simple and straight to the point.
Thank you so much for watching! I appreciate your kind words!
Thank you! Why Adobe has to be so hard to learn is beyond me!

Thank you so much! If there is a specific issue you would like me to tackle, please let me know!
Was there a 'delete pages after extracting' checkbox or other option when using drag & drop method at all there Erin?

@@pgarrison6260 That sounds like quite the project! I wish you all the best!
Thank you, Erin! I was just trying to figure out how to do this then realized Acrobat Reader doesn’t offer this feature.
Hello, Kim! I am delighted to have been of assistance. Thank you for visiting my channel! 😊
is there a way to extrat separate pages but with the page labels i create?
Thank you so much for watching! I'm afraid I'm not sure what you mean by extracting pages with labels. Can you provide a bit more detail?
How do you do this without the paid version? It used to be easy
