      I'm trying to figure out how to use an arrow tool to mark a point on a ruler in a PDF document using Acrobat Pro DC 2020. For some reason, when I try to draw anything, it'll be visible but once I let go of the mouse button it disappears and a box shows up around the object I'm trying to draw, and that includes arrows. Do you know what I might be doing wrong? I did check and verify that the document allows for edits and markups. Thank you for the vid. I really like your voice and teaching style.

    Thank you, Erin, for a clear explanation of these basic tools. It's just what I needed! After watching several other videos, I must admit at first I was afraid your voice was going to be too "sweet" for me, but after just a few seconds I relaxed into it and found your tone reassuringly patient and helpful, with just the right dose of "sweetness." Thank you again!

    Hello Erin. Great job! How do I disable the Reply feature to my Sticky Notes Comments? I don't want responses, I simply want the note to be clickable so my information can be read by others. I've looked in Security and didn't find it there. Can you help?

    • @erinwrightwriting
      @erinwrightwriting  Год назад +1

      That is a great question! Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a workable solution to disable the replies in the Sticky Notes. Another option may be to use the Text Box tool in the Edit PDF toolbar and set the font to a different color so it stands out from the regular text?

    How do you highlight just 1or 2 characters in a word,and not the whole word or line?

    • @erinwrightwriting
      @erinwrightwriting  2 года назад

      Thank you for watching! After selecting the Highlight tool in the Comment toolbar, your cursor should turn into a circle. You should then be able to use that circle as a normal cursor to click and drag over individual letters in order to highlight them. Best of luck!

  • @ceilingcatiswatching

    Hi Erin, I have saved a PPT to PDF and have Acrobat Reader only. When I try to use comment tools, I am unable to highlight most words completely, a few letters within a word will be missed out. Is there a way to fix this on Reader or perhaps another version is required?

    • @erinwrightwriting
      @erinwrightwriting  3 года назад

      Thank you for watching! In theory, you should be able to use Reader's comment tools on your file; however, unexpected things do happen, particularly on converted files. Before upgrading to Adobe Acrobat, I would suggest checking Adobe's website to see if you can get a free trial of Acrobat and then see if it works on your PDF. If it does not work, then you'll know the problem is with the PDF rather than the software and you won't be out any money. Best of luck!

    When I put my cursor on the pdf to strikethrough, my cursor is about three inches big! Any ideas?

    • @erinwrightwriting
      @erinwrightwriting  2 года назад

      Thank you for watching! I have never experienced such an abnormally large cursor, so I'm afraid I don't have any specific solutions. However, I did find this thread on the Adobe Community Support forum that you might find helpful: community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-reader-discussions/reduce-cursor-size-in-adobe-reader-dc-and-x-pro/m-p/9647654. Best of luck!

    Can you center justify text in a comment text box?

    • @erinwrightwriting
      @erinwrightwriting  2 года назад

      That is a great question! After inserting your comment text box, you can justify the text from the Text Properties pop-up menu. It should pop up automatically when working with a comment text box; if not, you can select the Aa menu at the end of the Comment toolbar. Thank you for watching!

    How do you rotate a comment box after drawing it?

    • @erinwrightwriting
      @erinwrightwriting  2 года назад +1

      Thank you for watching! Unfortunately, there is currently no way to rotate the comment text box. A discussion on the Adobe community support forum suggests that you may be able to rotate it by rotating the page back and forth--but it sounds like that solution doesn't work for everyone. Here is the link: community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/can-you-rotate-a-comment-text-box/m-p/10437731. I do hope Adobe adds that feature in the future.

    I am new to acrobat. Do you have a way to easily get you edited pdf and be able to use it to just drag and drop it I to a email. I’m not sure how to search for video of it if you do.

    • @erinwrightwriting
      @erinwrightwriting  3 года назад +1

      Thank you for watching my tutorial! You can copy and paste a PDF directly into your email. However, the editing markups will most likely not appear correctly within the email platform, so I suggest just attaching the PDF to the email using your email platforms normal attachment process. Best of luck!

      Thank you for watching! I am sorry you are having trouble. In Acrobat, all the shapes are technically comments, so they should show up in the comment pane while still being visible on the page. If your shapes are only appearing in the comment pane, I encourage you to contact Adobe support to report the issue. Best of luck!
