    This is not a chef knife. This is a real piece of art made to perfection. Greetings from Toronto amigo.

    That profile looks a lot more like a small kiritsuke than a honesuki.

    I really liked your work, subscribed right away. The music is really distracting though. I'd much rather hear the sound of your tools as you work.

      Right there with you. Would love to watch this video but would rather hear how and why he's doing certain things. Can't sit through 16 min of this

    Amazing work! keep it up!! I have a question at 8:25 and at 8:42 you use 2 different types of hand sanders, can you let us know what brand they are where you got them! Thank you!

    New here so sorry if this question has been asked before, but how do you make or where could one buy the jig you used to roughly sharpen the knife on the belt sander? Seen it used in a number of knife making videos and it doesn't look like something that would be hard to make!
    Thanks in advanced

      It's not hard...You can make it simple with an aluminum angle.

    I am making my son a meat carving knife much like a long sushi knife for Christmas. I very much like this shape of knife you made. May I use this idea for his knife? I also will make a chefs knife and a carving fork as a set and put them in a box as a set for him and his girlfriend.

      영상을 봐주셔서 감사합니다...네... 식도로 사용가능합니다...원래용도는 고기류를 다듬는 용도입니다. 닭고기 해체용 등등...칼을 만들면서 알게된 지식인데 야채용과 육류용 구분해야한다는군요...도마도 구분하는는것 처럼...

    What kind of steel do you use? It seems to be some sort of stainless steel but from my point of view it’s not the proper way to heat treat this material, right?
    Besides of that: amazing piece!

    • @artisticson2275
      @artisticson2275  4 года назад +1

      440 C Stainless steel...The quenching is maintained at 1000 degrees for 10 minutes...

    Über-cool knife! That steel looks beefy, how thick is it actually?

    • @artisticson2275
      @artisticson2275  4 года назад

      It's 4mm thick.....It is a Japanese version of Boning Knife.
