Hey Timmy, I'm a heavy diesel mechanic. When you have gear oil coming out the axle in weird places, check your axle breather vent. It could be clogged causing pressure to build up and blow oil out of the weakest spot. The fix could be as simple as removing the fitting and/or breather tube and blowing it out with compressed air. If you leave it clogged up it could cause bigger problems such as leaking wheel seals, diff cover, pinion seal, etc.

Dude, I completely agree with your Carpe Diem philosophy. I watched the lights go down on life fourteen years ago. When they “woke” me from a month long coma, my low drag, high speed life came to a screeching halt. I’ve been fighting a brain tumor(oligodendroglioma) ever since 03/21/2010. Five years and wheelchair bound for life, was my prognosis. But through tough rehab and a proper mental attitude, I’m still here. 🤙

You will never know how much I miss long road trips, exploring other parts of the country, learning about the many different places and cultures, meeting new people, and just taking in all the beauty God has made for us. I use Google maps to follow along with you as you travel and look up information about each place you mention. It makes me feel like I am on another adventure and relishing every second of it! So thank you so very much for sharing all that you do, especially for those of us that can't to those things anymore or fulfill the dreams we have, because now we can live them through you and your eyes. Thank you so much!
You're absolutely right, there is no guarantee how long we're here. None of us get out alive!!! Enjoy your videos, safe travels from Snowmass Colorado.
I usually don’t comment, but I have watched your channel for almost a year now, & I normally do not watch this type of channel, not keen on cold weather snow etc. lol but as a 77 year old farmer’s wife, I enjoy your channel & thanks for sharing your journey, you are so right tomorrow is not promised but my faith helps me to enjoy life & thankful for my blessings. Have a great trip & I will be watching.

Hi Tim. Fellow Alaskan from Anchorage here. Love the channel and Ive seen your epic rig around town several times. True statement about life man, we don’t have tomorrow guaranteed. Oh wow I know that glacier! drove by it 34 years ago! I'm 65 now and have to live my road trips of days gone by through you all over again! Thank you so much! Brings back such wonderful memories! I drove to Alaska to run a fishing lodge kitchen in Soldotna in april 1990 from New Jersey! 5280 miles one way!
you probably could find a same year group as your F350 but in a F550 which can be had in cab only.. and maybe a little longer frame. That may allow for larger fuel tanks. ANd a larger camper.. But I was thinking maybe one of those econoline fan with the box on back, do a 4x4 conversion.. That way you could pass into the back without leaving the truck.. Also there wouldnt be alot of over hang up top and lots of room for storage. The camper is cute but it is probably not that aerodynamic which is affecting MPG
At 32 min mark. A clogged breather tube\vent caused the leak. That happens by excessive dirt....causing pressure to build up and blow out the weakest seal of the system. You wont need a new sensor, just an o ring and to clear the blockage.
Awesome video as always Timmy. This is going to be an epic road trip can’t wait to see all the amazing stuff you’re going to show us on this epic trip.
Hey Timmy glad the "new" sensor worked for you. Hoping that your trip south went well on the Alaska Highway since it can be problematic at times. Also the name for the large lake outside of Whitehorse is Marsh Lake. Gotta keep the OBS trucks running strong!!
@41:28 no joke about that time is not guaranteed man, I just lost my mom this past weekend on Saturday August 31st at 8:29 p.m. she was only 61 years old she found out she got cancer 2 months ago they were going to start chemo it's spread through her body so they stopped chemo because they told her she only had 6 weeks to live and that was on August 21st My August 31st she was gone she made it a week and three days, life is very short man with tears in my eyes talking about this in this comment on RUclips, it breaks my heart having to agree with you on this one I wish I didn't have to, we all go through it at some point none of us want to but we all have to and road trips are the best place to think about all of it and the people that are gone and we wish that we're still with us. God bless be careful on your road trip man I would not want to read that one of my favorite RUclipsrs has gone because of a road trip trying to entertain us...😢 41:28
@pinstripingbybear., I'm sorry for you and your Family's loss, especially so recent. I know things won't ever be the same and that it'll take time but I believe your hearts will heal. I think one of the most important things is just cherishing the time you had with Mother and cherish the time you still have with remaining Family. It's also not a bad idea to talk about what you're feeling, it can help bring some relief I believe. I took care of my beloved Mother the last four years of her life and that was through the "rona" disaster which made things even worse. She had lost her husband and tho she was still able to drive and use her walker, he health really fell off after he passed. It took me 3 months to go through their old house to clean out all of their things by myself and that was on top of visiting her in the hospital for a few hours most days to bring her some of her favorite snacks etc. I'd go to 4-5 different stores just to find what she wanted. Then she was placed temporarily in skilled nursing to rehabilitate her legs etc., to get her walking again. Then I moved her in here and began taking her for treatments 3 times/wk, various procedures she needed, hospital visits, doc apts., prepare her meals, ensure she took her meds, kept her med equipment clean & in working order, cleaned up the blood and "accidents" she sometimes had, keeping the bedside toilet sanitized etc., and never complained about any of it when it came to her. She was more regretful of me having to help her because she felt like it was so burdensome. I just wanted her better. My anger was unleashed on the not so professional "healthcare professionals" who didn't treat her very well. She experienced some falls from "syncope" & it was rare to ever not have blood on her belongings. I sat up with her the nights she was spitting up and just kept cold, wet cloths and rubbed her back etc., until the issue passed. Most nights I never slept anyway from my own health being so poor because I simply neglected it because she was my focus. So then all of it came to a head and I had to call an ambulance to come get me. I ended up in the same hospital she was in.... She'd call me later that morning to tell me they were discharging her so I had to explain what happened with me. That's when she decided to go into the nursing home and I lost her 2 months later, a few weeks before Thanksgiving. Going through all of it, no one knows till they experience it, I certainly never knew. It was the most painful/stressful thing I've done but I still Thank Father God I was able to be there for her when she needed me most. Some people don't get the opportunity or even want it.... For me, I couldn't imagine not being there for her. I was there for my Father but he went quickly when I was 21. He was diagnosed with cancer and within 2 months he passed but I thank Father God for the year and a half we had to reconcile before that. Death is not something we can just "avoid because we don't like it" but I believe we can live in ways to either leave this world prematurely or a little later on. I believe it's most important that we not dwell on death and instead show people we love, just how much we love them and as a Christian, ensure that our souls are in the hands of Jesus, ready to meet Him whenever it is our time. I pray you and your Family draw closer together and bring peace to one another's hearts in your time of sorrow. It's been nearly 2 yrs but my loved ones and I still talk about some of our memories of Mom and we keep fresh flowers on her and Pop's graves but we also enjoy the time we still have together.
Sorry for your loss. I lost my mom to cancer about 10 years ago, she was only 58. I still miss her today, but the heartache does get better. Stay strong, grieve at your own rate and remember to eat.
@@zenithperigee7442 wow thank you for your openness in your comment I really do appreciate it, I fought with myself if I was going to even put my comment on here, people on this app can be just mean. Thank you again and God bless you brother!
@@JellyBeansMystreyMachine I apologize for your loss, I know it was 10 years ago but it's still your mom and no one will ever be able to replace that, thank you for your comment, I really didn't want to post that in the first place but it felt right at the time, I didn't expect people to be nice even one little bit, RUclips can be a difficult place to express your emotions without someone tearing you apart in the comments we're going after you in a comment. Thank you for your kind words have a blessed weekend
When you get time, check the vent hose for the rear differential. I’ve seen a spider build a nest in the end of the hose and plug it all up. They can’t breathe. It looks for the first weakest spot to push fluid out.
Was thinking the same thing. And it’s possible the gears are overheating if the shop set the backlash on the new R&P too tight…. New gears need time to wear in anyway, so hopefully any heat related issues will go away after a little more mileage.
I really appreciated the road trip chat on this one. You made me want to make that drive. I travel full time in an rv, and when we are long trips, i think of my baby brother i lost in 2016. I mean, let's be real, i think of him every day... but what u were saying about road trip time really hit home. Hope to run into you on the road one day. Sorry for your loss of close friends, but I am grateful you had the opportunity to have those amazing people be part of your life while they walked among us! Keep on keepin on brother!
I just found your channel, and I love it, so I subscribed. I work a lot, so getting away to go camping is not often. Following you, I get to see beautiful places, mini-getaways for me. So, thank you 😊
So glad to be aboard day 1. Always remember the journey makes for the best stories. A destination is just a pretense for the journey. But also, in your case, you have a gig to get to!!!! ha.
Keep living free, Tim. I always watch your videos to cheer up. Very envious of your ability. You are blessed, and I hope you continue to be blessed. You ever want to hire an employee for anything with your channel, give me a shout. You're an inspiring person.
I amazed at the laws in Alaska and Canada. Sleep deprived, but driving 500 miles a day, whilst using a selfie stick to video footage yourself USING a phone whilst driving. Bear Spray and a shutgun, but thats ok. A big mini house on the back of your truck. No problems. Drones used and no one wonders or pips a worry.
Your last words were never so true. Live the life you were given, it's a gift. Since I started watching you a good 2 years, I have been getting out seeing my world around me. Hit up a ghost town 10,000 ft up on a gravel road last week. You have definitely inspired me 🤘✌️
you have lost a lot of weight. Make sure you keep good care of yourself in the midst of life... You are doing the right thing taking time away from the norm just for you and to include friends and family is even better. Hope all is well and looking forward to coming along on your journey...
Tim I needed to hear what you said at the end, now more than ever. Since April of this year I've suffered so much loss of relatives. This past six weeks alone there's been one each week. Now I'm trying process another loss, and I've just been walking alot. I don't have many to turn to here in Kamloops BC. This morning my coffee and watching this video felt a bit different. It was the ending that got me thinking, so today I'm going to try doing something different. Since coming across your channel, believe it or not it helps me. This past month I've fallen behind schedule on keeping up with your videos. But I'm caught up now. Starting today I need to do something different. Thank you for sharing, and I hope it was ok for me to share this. I'm really happy for you and your home. I hope one day I'll get to take a video of you driving by...
Great video and man you’re looking great my friend. At 54 I’m trying to do the same thing with all those injuries. After being to hell and back the last few months, I’m getting caught up and your videos are a blessing. Ride On Timmy💪🏼
Makin me miss Alaska over here man. Lived in Seldovia for about 5 years and another 5 years on the Kenai before moving back home to Tennessee. Watching you make the drive is surreal, we drove back in November of 2020 and had to get a massive amount of paperwork to show we switched homes and I had employment lined up to even get over the border. I remember how bad the roads were and how cold it was in Destruction bay when we got out to spend the night in a motel/gas station.
Hey Tim! Canadian fan of your channel here :) I love watching your long road trip videos. Thoroughly enjoyed the winter Dalton highway trips and now enjoying this Alaska highway trip. I have driven the Alaska highway through BC and some of the Yukon to visit and hunt with friends in the Yukon. I’m sorry to hear you had the poor experience at the Canadian border during the covid era. There were definitely some silly policies in place at the time then. Things need to improve a lot politically in my country that’s for sure. My wife and I plan to settle in the Yukon once we get all our ducks in a row (live in Alberta currently). All the best and God bless you in your adventures and life in Alaska!
Love a good road trip. Ole 350 keeps on cranking along. It should. Beautiful drive. Done it several times. Time gets shorter every year. 69 in a few days. One gone every week or so now. Live everyday til you die. Keep on Keepin' one. All good from East Kentucky USA
Hi Timmy, I just wanted to say I’ve watched RUclips and a lot of RUclips channels ever since I was a kid but now I am a grown adult and I came across your page. And my opinion, it is the best content that is out there on this platform. You are so real and genuine. I feel like you are a friend of me even though I have never met you. especially found your channel before when you were on the road and I watched you build your whole house and then now for you to be hopping back on the road is getting me really excited. Makes me want to just get up and go.
Timmy, so happy you are continuing your dream and fulfilling your goals. You’re a great inspiration to all who watch and follow your channel. Looking forward as always to your next video. Cheers my friend! 🍁🇨🇦🌲🏕️
Glad for you they were all quick fixes. Driving that many miles isn't much of a break lol😖 so hope you have a good time at your destination 🛶🏔🌲Enjoy the scenery along the way & back 👀 safe travels.😊 Alaska is a very beautiful state.
Hey Tim....really enjoy your videos and admire your outlook on life. Definitely makes a positive difference influence for myself and all your subscribers. Keep on truckin' man. Happy trails. Don.
Thanks for sharing these wonderful moments with us. So happy for you about the house and the truck working and now exploring again. Just the kind of balance needed for a full and happy life. Seize the day!
Me and my dad just got home a few weeks ago from a roadtrip from the panhandle of FL all the way to fairbanks AK! Fantastic trip, the alaskan highway was insane but super hazy due to the fires
Oh Tim you really touched my heart I miss my road trips and when things calm down for me I can do some traveling again soon. Loss of loved ones is so hard. Like you have lost so many and recently lost my dog and am just devastated. Travel safe ❤💔
Road trip Timmy!🎉. Best part is, I’m watching this while I’m on the Alaska highway for my annual drive back to the lower 48😂 and you’re right it long, but never gets old!
It's nice to finally see a good old-fashioned truck house life video again. I liked your house build videos, but this is what brought me to your channel. Road trips with the 7.3 truck house. That fuel selector switch is very common after 20+ years. Very expensive part for the size of it. Im so glad you stuck it out and made it through all the truck repairs. Im looking forward to the next few months of truck house videos. Right now, im trying to finish up some frame and suspension work on my 97 obs 7.3 so i can get my lance truck camper back on and head out to the beach here on long island ny for the fall striped bass run. Im thinking about upgrading my broken propane heater to a webasto diesel heater. Seems like yours is much more efficient than propane. I forgot if you were able to fix yours or if you just replaced it??? Good luck on the rest of your trip, brother. 🤙✌️
Love❤your channel,,Timmy.. I live lower 48.. n drive big rig... may God bless u n keep u safe on roads.. keep videos ,, always very interesting n relaxing to watch❤be safe 👍
Haven't read your comments but my tip on replacing the vss sensor. After you've replaced it wash the diff of oil. That way you can monitor the seal if anymore leaks start. Enjoy watching your logs. 🤙
Oh, I love this. The winter is slowly coming here in Sweden and I won't miss a video from this trip. Thank you for taking us all with you and be safe out on the road. I get a bit nervous everytime you filming with your mobile while driving.
I had a system like that in a truck. Better plan on going out of your way to run straight number 1 fuel. The water fuel separator freezes up. The fuel filter doesn't get warm by engine either. I gelled up with 50 50 mix when it was minus 20. You might get by with a 12 volt sleeve or wrap heater over the filters.
Man, I’m right there with ya on the vehicle repairs. I just had to have my valve cover replaced, and new engine temp sensor, had to replace the thermostat housing assembly, and just today, had to replace a mass air flow sensor. I learned to do all the repairs myself, and saved a bunch of money. Now, the car is running great, so I can continue my ride share adventure, and I’m taking a break later this week, going to visit my son in Minnesota for his birthday. I can’t wait to get that much need break. By the way, Alaska is looking beautiful this summer/early fall!
Much love brother! Been planning a winter road trip from key west fl to prudhoe because of you! Big inspiration hopefully we can link somewhere in Alaska! Carry on!!
One thank you for the time you spend to do all this work, and two thank you for letting all of us live vicariously through all of your adventures. You are one awesome cat!
Hot diggity damn, no words can explain how gratefull i am for getting to see (another vid) what life is like 'outside of the city' Im aspiring to be an Eletrician by trade but my first degree was in Cooking, (Chef tip: have some real food now and then if you can, we are what we eat, seriously) -quitte the switch i know, but the cool science still applies :) just trynna say thanks. Let me share some love back yaknow! Dad had an old Ford escort that he went far & abroad with growing up, learning driving from the roads & common courtesy, back when... meanwhile im still suckering in driving classes.. life seems strange sometimes. Cheers on another trip, betcha i'm aboard for more \o/
Hey there Timmy, I’m about a month behind. But I’ll try to catch up this weekend…lol. You’re the best. And the truck? It’s a classic. Keep it goin’. : )
You know i see people complaining about the truck thing and how the guys should fix it. Well that truck is highly modified at this point and anything modified has bugs until you dial it in. Im sure you knew that before embarking on this journey. But man i love your attitude it’s extremely refreshing to see others out there with similar philosophies on life!!! I have a similar routine as you but the difference is I have 4 kids so traveling freely isn’t an option right now. But im still lucky I can’t complain about much. Good luck on your travels my friend. If you ever find yourself in New England the green mountain state let me know. I have land next to the river im happy to let you use. It’s nice and private location in the country with a couple small towns and skiing areas 20-30 minutes away. Great outdoor activities here like Alaska just not as extreme 😂. Much love brother ❤
The fuel tank selector failing, doesn't have anything to do with mods. They don't last forever. Simple part to change and affordable too. It's very trivial.
On rewatch crew, those drone shots and just the water and mtns are beautiful. Stay safe and excited for this road trip, but just got to the point you may have a problem. Andrew the guy who gave you the part, that was really nice of him! And everyone recognizes you! Timmy your famous lol!!!
So true about life being short & we can be gone anytime. I tend to think about the same stuff when Im driving to my next adventure. Keep rockin Timmy & thanks for your inspo
UK time 3pm 😢 had to wait aggggeeessss to watch my favourite explorer and master builder 😊 Hi from Manchester UK. I love the videos of Alaska after watching your videos and it’s def on my bucket list ! Xx
Yeah I can relate, every road trip I've done I wonder "am I really doing this?' or "is this a good idea?" - sometimes I feel that even when I get home, like I'm buying an expensive impulse item
Excited to see this video been watching a while sometimes Im side tracked with other stuff but followed you back to alaska , and your samurai kick some of the cabin build wow thats looking cool . Ever since you broke down somewhere and met phil from down to Mob ha ha Love that truck house!
Timmy sorry bout all the truck issues , I got an ole 97 f 150 4.6 v8 an I have got troubles to at times but I love my truck as u do , it’s just me , but man I love all the vids an I love the road trips ❤ be safe an well an see ya in the next one

that was the first thing I checked, it's clear. The VSS had been removed a lot which it's not really meant to do (when things were being checked)

God bless be careful on your road trip man I would not want to read that one of my favorite RUclipsrs has gone because of a road trip trying to entertain us...😢 41:28
My heart goes out to you with my family's prayers
Thanks for sharing this with us! I live in East TN. I paid $2.76/gal today, diesel is around $3.45. I no longer take that for granted :)
That mechanic Andrew is a champ! The Timmy vibe is contagious.
New gears need time to wear in anyway, so hopefully any heat related issues will go away after a little more mileage.
yup 1st thing I checked
But also, in your case, you have a gig to get to!!!! ha.
It's comin!
Beautiful message and sentiment at the end of the video, thanks for reminding me of what life’s all about. God Bless ya Timmy
Safe Travels Timmy. May God Bless your trip and the friends you will see in BC Canada.
Sorry to hear that Wendy, make every moment count!
You got lucky 🍀thanks Andrew 🙏🏻
Glad for you they were all quick fixes. Driving that many miles isn't much of a break lol😖 so hope you have a good time at your destination 🛶🏔🌲Enjoy the scenery along the way & back 👀 safe travels.😊 Alaska is a very beautiful state.
Trips like this are the best therapy for peace of mind.
Living large is all anyone can do & doing it while your body & mind are in tact is a blessing
Nuttin like the early 5
9 cummins.....1.5 milliin mile motor....never an issue✌
Thanks for your words! Live for the day and don’t wait
I used to work at a production place that made protein power mixes and we turned fruit and some vegetables into power threw dehydration and milling
nice haha
I am really liking this take on life and makes me realize i may want to make changes to mine. Keep on doing you and thank you for your content.
Hey Timmy. The electronic system is cool, but the more things to go wrong the more they will. Mechanical systems are very reliable.
This trip is showing that luck and good people keep you going . Enjoy the trip and thanks for taking us along
I was getting about that with my ambo 2000 7.3 2wd....keep up the good work.. live that life
Love❤your channel,,Timmy.. I live lower 48.. n drive big rig... may God bless u n keep u safe on roads.. keep videos ,, always very interesting n relaxing to watch❤be safe 👍
Thank you Glenn!
Haven't read your comments but my tip on replacing the vss sensor. After you've replaced it wash the diff of oil. That way you can monitor the seal if anymore leaks start.
Enjoy watching your logs. 🤙
Indeed, tomorrow is not guaranteed. Hope the rest of your road trip goes more smoothly!
I'm so excited for this road trip. This is why I love this channel. Let's go. Glad gladis is strong again 💪
Love how humble you are, and that you don't cuss. Sorry bout your truck house😢
Finally done the house build!! It must feel so satisfying
Oh, I love this. The winter is slowly coming here in Sweden and I won't miss a video from this trip. Thank you for taking us all with you and be safe out on the road. I get a bit nervous everytime you filming with your mobile while driving.
Keep up the fight Timmy …old truck is worth saving in my opinion 🤙🏻✝️🇺🇸🅰️
will do!
Look at in much better shape Timmy! The year has been good to you, good on you brother. You can tell just from the in truck shots proud of you dude
Carry on!!
That's awesome Michael good luck with it man!
One thank you for the time you spend to do all this work, and two thank you for letting all of us live vicariously through all of your adventures. You are one awesome cat!
So excited for your trip! Loved watching the house build. Time for a cool road trip. Have a safe journey
Glad to see you rolling Timmy have fun and see you later ❤💪🏼
i hit the Canada boarder heading south 27Dec1980. It was 72 F below zero. Stayed in Beaver Creek and never shut the engine off, all night idle.
whew!
Your house is stunningly beautiful!!!!!!!! Be safe and.have a blast.
Hey from texas, drive careful and have a safe trip, stay positive, looking forward to many more adventures, have a great day or night
Awesome vlog👍🏽
Thanks for taking us along for the ride. I'm already looking forward to the next video!👍🏽
I just saw you driving on highway 160 (9/22 11:45am)going into Pagosa Springs! Welcome buddy!
Something Tim never wants to hear: "We're gonna have to remove the house to get at the problem"...😅
Thank God it’s safe to come back now!
Beautiful scenery! Thanks for sharing your journey with us! 🌞
Can’t believe you are coming to Clearwater!👍👍👍. I live in Kamloops.
Hot diggity damn, no words can explain how gratefull i am for getting to see (another vid) what life is like 'outside of the city'
Im aspiring to be an Eletrician by trade but my first degree was in Cooking,
(Chef tip: have some real food now and then if you can, we are what we eat, seriously)
-quitte the switch i know, but the cool science still applies :) just trynna say thanks.
The Drone footage while you are driving is awesome
Aloha 49th State from the 50th State!
Been 5 months since I've seen your vids been a long summer good to see you again Tim from Michigan
So true about life being short & we can be gone anytime. I tend to think about the same stuff when Im driving to my next adventure. Keep rockin Timmy & thanks for your inspo
Always & maybe c u out there sometime!
Well said at the end in the closing!! Keep living life and think about our friends that are no longer with us. ❤👊
Make sure you put the transfer case in neutral if you ever have to tow it with the wheels on the ground
UK time 3pm 😢 had to wait aggggeeessss to watch my favourite explorer and master builder 😊 Hi from Manchester UK. I love the videos of Alaska after watching your videos and it’s def on my bucket list ! Xx
My wife and daughter are driving from Fairbanks Alaska to Alamogordo New Mexico. They are absolutely enjoying this drive.
Nice!
The house turned out absolutely gorgeous!.
