I was thinking it would be fun to force a card on a spectator and admit that you're gonna force a card by using the Star Wars force to manipulate him to pick whatever card you want him to pick. It might work and make your spectator think you've really got good mind control abilities with the force, or he might not fall for it, and you'd both get a good laugh.

In the performance you put the cards into the shuffler, then removed them and went into the cutting sequence. Wouldn't the shuffling machine disturb the setup on top and bottom? I actually have a shuffling machine and would like to use it. Was it a false shuffle of some sort with the machine?
Hi John Once I knew which cards they want, in this case High values to be winners, I'd shuffled the cards required to the top. Once I dropped the top half in the left part of shuffler I knew my machine once I start turning the handle pulls 3 or 4 cards from the left before the right wheel pulls cards from right packet. As long as the top 2 cards remain all is good. Check your machine to see how many cards are pulled on 1st turn.
@@totallymagic Thanks for the reply. I finally got batteries for my shuffler. Unfortunately it doesn't have a consistent pattern as to which side it pulls cards from. The Kings seem to stay within the top 8-10 cards, but the top card may or may not be a King. So what I can do is mark the Kings so that after the shuffle I either demonstrate a hand or skip it (if a King is on top). Or better yet... I'll do a demo up front where I explain that they will cut the cards into 5 piles and then show the sample hand to point out the high or low card. I'll follow up with putting them into the machine... but do a slip cut or Halo cut to put a King on the bottom of both face up halves. In this way there will definitely be a King on top. I realize I'm adding a sleight in order to use a shuffling machine... but I like the novelty of that!
