Once a squirrel had made a nest in our balcony in a pipe. Someone accidentally lifted it. The babies were just few days old. We fed them from a syringe. The mom was a bit scared by our cat. But later on she took them back. They now visit us daily. You are great people!!

You're so amazing! This shows people how much animals love their young. Even after days of them being lost, squirrels not only know their babies when they find them, but they know exactly how many babies they had. They also adopt orphaned babies, which I think is so touching.

I cried a little bit. Respect to nature is unafortable. Seeing there mother so happy makes me happy. She must been very worried at these days. Very good family and we as humans must do this all, so that animals have at least a change in nature.

Hetty has such compassion for these babies which is impressive because she’s just a kitten herself. The picture of the squirrels on her belly is a great contrast as to their size. Thx for sharing such love
You did a great thing by caring for these 4 little ones when they were separated from their mom! I love the stripes on the backs of the baby's and their mom! I've only seen the gray squirrels here.

Arizona Sunflowers chipmunks are actually a type of ground squirrel.
PEOPLE, they are NOT chipmunks!!! They're SQUIRRELS! The moms tail, large body and facial features is a dead give away.
Katlyn C-M they are not squirrls, they're either chipmunk or palm squirrels but not "SQUIRRLS"

I rescued 3baby squirrels from the roofers. they found a nest and I babysat for the kittens (that's what you call baby squirrels ). I live in the city so had to pray mama would find them by my window. She did and the family was reunited.
That was great!! I was crying at the end. The Mommy missed her babies and was so happy to get them back. Thank you for taking them in till they were able to be back with their mommy! Awesome people!

kalpana Peter I eye dropper fed a baby tree squirrel when I was a kid. She was a great pet. Dad said I could keep it but if it ever bit anyone we would be having squirrel soup that night for dinner. So "Soup" became my squirrel's name

Wow!...What a wonderful family you are! To so lovingly care for these vulnerable creatures and then Hetty!!! Another WOW with her providing a warm tummy to comfort them. But the reunion...Oh my! Sweetest thing I ever saw. That baby turned toward his mommy and nuzzled her. I could just hear them saying, “Mommy! Mommy!” “It’s okay honey...I’m here!” I’m sure it went down just like that. Lol

Char Shark the actual truth is, the mother animals often tell their own babies by smell in many, if not all, mammal families. The thing about touching them a lot and cleaning them, etc., is that it takes their odor away, or sometimes changes it. Then, the mom doesn't recognize her babies' and could abandon them. Is it a "myth"? Kind of, but it also has a smidge of truth in it.

I've been saving many little squirrels by myself all my life because I was living in coconut palm country Sri Lanka.unbelievably i did the same way of feedings and rescuing..finding mom.good job.not many people don't do stuff like this.god bless
