That's honestly a really cool concept to work into an EXE game, even as a non Fire Emblem fan. Best of luck with your future game making endeavors and thanks for being the creator of the only (I think) Fire Emblem horror game :)
I have to give you props man. You implemented actual FE lore into a joke .Exe game in such a seamless and natural way that it kinda elevated it for me, setting it apart from most Exe type games i’ve seen. It honestly even got me interested into Shadow Dragon which is funny because for the longest time I wasn’t really a fan of the visuals of that game, now I might pick it up someday lmao. Great job :)
I'm convinced the dark sphere holds Excelblem within it. Any Excelblem watchers will understand what i'm talking about *"as a friend you are replaceable. FAREWELL"*
A speedrun? That's certainly something. It's always cool to see people interacting with the game in non-standard ways like that. I'd also be interested to hear what your best time ends up at.
Never played the game on saw the youtubers talk about it. But has someone who played FE 3 and enjoyed it, it's nice to see the story of a .EXE actually make more sense then the newer FE games
this is probably the coolest .exe game there is an unique concept that could technically be canon due to where it's placed and how it doesn't contradict anything from fe12 is super cool, and like the purple non killer guy said,a very nice marth.exe design hopefully there will be more fe.exe games in the future
One of my friends who is oddly obsessed with FE11 keeps pestering me to play it, and since the april fools day prank didn't work on me (spoiled by the #project-feedback channel) I knew one person it could work on So she watched me play through a supposed FE11 remaster only for it to quickly come apart it was great
Marth.exe is, in my opinion, the best .exe game I have ever seen. It has a story, which is very rare for .exe games. It has an inspiration from the original games, which most .exe games don't have either. And it is possible to win in the game. Even if the result is not what you expect, but it is possible. Marth.exe brings a breath of fresh air to the world of .exe games, and I would be happy if there were more .exe games like this in the future.
Thanks for introducing me to SRPG Maker, I legitimately had no idea that a FE version of RPGMaker existed and now I can finally make all those FE games that have been bouncing around in my head like the ball from Pong. (Also as a massive fan of Internet and RPGMaker horror, I absolutely adore this ^-^)
i have to give it to ya briver making this based on something in game was very smart its kinda like a fan-fic in a way. i hope someone could maybe do this with sacred stones or genealogy of the holy war.
Oh yeah, there is evil possession in those games too. I am thinking about other things I could do with FE but I feel like if I just make "Marth.exe but instead of Hardin it's Lyon this time" then that would just be uninspired. We'll see though.
One thing I mean to ask concerning the ending (Marth.exe and FE3/FE12 spoilers below) Seeing the original scene in the base game shows that Marth took the Darksphere whole after Hardin’s defeat, as it turns out to be the very last gemstone needed to complete the Fire Emblem and restore its true power. However, in Marth.exe you show the Darksphere shattering outright. Was this a mistake/oversight or is the fact that Marth just got locked in the original game’s *bad ending* actually taken into account?
Yeah, I was always aware that the darksphere was intact in the actual game, but I decided to make it shatter because I thought it would be a really strong visual and symbolize the end of the darksphere's influence in an interesting way. If you want some practical explanation then from what I remember the spheres all magically float into the binding shield so it's not too much of a stretch to say the darksphere could do that while in pieces and just come back together in its shield slot.
I wanna see a full playthrough of Marth.exe. Please make videos about your game. I'm lazy and not gonna remember your game before I get to my computer.
Hey man, just wanted to give you a heads-up that I'll be playing your game on my channel sometime soon. Sorry I didn't ask before but I hope you'll be okay with it. Can't wait to see how it goes. I haven't played it in its entirety so far and trying to avoid spoilers. 😅
Yeah, no worries at all, it's always cool to see people do that with stuff I make. And it's nice of you to check if it's okay with me. Hopefully you got the most recent version as well, the one I released on the 13th this month, that one just patches up all the bugs.
So I know you tried explaining this in the video, but still what exactly happens when you beat Marth.exe in the final fight? Why does everyone go silent? What’s the sea of darkness for? Is this just because Marth got killed in the real world or something? Are even his friends fighting with him against Marth.exe illusions in the end? There are so many things I don’t understand about that ending.
Yeah, so if you kill Marth.exe in the game that means that the evil spirits of the darksphere have successfully manipulated Hardin into killing Marth in real life. So once that happens the evil spirits don't have a use for Hardin anymore so they stop keeping up the illusion. Since there's no illusion anymore but Hardin is still controlled by the darksphere he's left in a sort of purgatory, and in real life he'd be in some sort of coma. The sea of darkness and silence is because the spirits aren't bothering to show him anything because they don't have a reason to anymore.
5:16 alternate version where Tatiana shows up and kicks Marth.exe’s ass Sidenote, I’m curious about the choice of Ogma and especially Draug for the second chapter, I was wondering if those two characters held any significant link to Hardin. I can’t remember if they did
They don't, really. Many others have brought this up, it didn't exactly connect to the rest of the group but I used it because I felt it would be better for pacing, I wanted to have time for another scare, it adds to the confusion, and it was the map that came right after chapter 1. And in a story perspective it's just helping to show the world deteriorating into that twisted world that the dark spirits are creating.
It would of been where if you win the battle and that happened then maybe something like Marth.EXE reappaearing and then showing a cutscene which has them… well.. in battle rather… attack but the screen cuts to black before jumpscaring the player with a horrorifying image of them cut down by the sword. Which… is scary if you think about it…. That’ll help with not having to run into the soft lock… but also another reason for this to get a rework if it’s the case due to what I said
You're not the first to ask about the Draug scene, that part was kinda just for vibes, to add some extra spooky. It doesn't really tie into the rest of the story other than just showing a proper start to this corrupted world. And I'm also counting the jumpscare in level 3 as one of the endings because on your first playthrough you would get hit by that jumpscare after seeing the shine at the fort then the game would end.
That's honestly a really cool concept to work into an EXE game, even as a non Fire Emblem fan. Best of luck with your future game making endeavors and thanks for being the creator of the only (I think) Fire Emblem horror game :)

Cheers for making the game, man! I decided I'm going to try and be the first ever person to 100% speedrun it, but it was a really solid game!
