Went to a large vision works glasses store near me. Paid top dollar for Verilux progressives with all the deluxe coatings etc. The young lady sales person put a quick dot on the demo glasses with a felt pen, that was it. The progressive part was too high forcing me to tilt my head down to see through the upper part of the lens to drive. They finally remade the lenses after many trips to the store for frame adjustments under their warranty. But eve the remade pair never did work well for me and I ended up wearing a single Rx distance only lens most of the time. It is a shame they care so little, and I didn't know any better.
It is a certified optician job to do all this! Doctors are not trained to do this. Sadly, I can hardly find one professional optician who know all the important steps to help customers for progressive lenses. You are not alone!
I have a Lab myself and work for the opticians but you should know that there are many different types of progressive lenses, some of them are short programmed which don't work with everyone.

D Jolissaint must have been America’s Best. They did the same with a pen with me. So, I’ll see how they turn out once I get them.
D Jolissaint im probably not even in the same country as u but i face the same problem always, the opticians are too careless.
My eye doctor didnt do any of those things! No wonder I hate my Progressive Lenses !!!

It's purely the role of optician who fits the lenses
hard & soft design i think work with everyone when u do some things like keep PD correctly & correct frame selection.

An experienced certified optician should know which types of frame. I was told frame width and lenses height matter most, depend on your PD.
