Yep, Starship Troopers is most definitely one of my favorite novels of all time. Hell, were it not for this certain piece of military sci-fi, we wouldn't have gotten Mobile Suit Gundam even, which would've totally broke me as a person.
This is wild to see. Power armor with an anime aesthetic simply *is* mecha. This means that the way to do a realistic mecha game is simply to make the mecha power armor sized...
Around 3 meters tall for powered armor, 4-6ish meters tall for full mechs seems to be the sweet spot for that particular style. See also Heavy Gear, VOTOMS, Front Mission, Land & Sea...
Starship Troopers has been a Grand daddy of Sci-fi Wars for many generations to come. Fun fact, Gundam was suppose to have the similar concept as the Starship Troopers had instead of Mecha Suit hence the term Mobile Suits. But it was all thrown out at the window after the Mecha Genre have become popular in Japan. Halo took a lot of inspiration from the Power Suits that the M.I had hence the Helmet design and the Prototype Power Armor.
Being 3D? I don't have a problem with it as such. There's no reason why both can't have good gameplay. It's very much a wait and see kinda thing. Now ask me what I think about Golden Axe's new art style. 🤢
Roughnecks starship troopers chronicles so hard to get I'm missing Trackers and the fed net episode's, an its never been fished, also wish it get a blu-ray release.

Preach it brother!

That's what I tried doing the last time I ran an SF RPG. Sadly the players were not interested in the mecha aspect.
@@danvince2360 Heresy.
Also the anime you're thinking was Super Dimension Fortress Macross dude.
Thanks. I could have sworn they'd both worked on Space Battleship Yamato.
Sweet look through the OVA. I think I tried watching it once but dropped it for some reason. Gonna definitely try it again
It's not going to be for everyone (36 year old animes usually aren't), but for SST fans and especially fans of the book? Well worth a look.

Yup, MASSIVELY influential.
I like that the suits are nice and bulky.
On a side note what are your thoughts on the Golden Axe reboot and Streets of Rage 5 being 3d.

I loved the movie and the book was enjoyable.
One day I will try and watch the anime.
