  • All amps running into the THD Hot Plate, line out from there to Impulse Responses (Celestion G12K-100, SM57 / MD421). Boost was a Colorsound Power boost clone.

What about the loudness? I cant decide between jtm45studio and champ (home use). Are you using power break for home playing? Which one is louder? Thanks

Yes I use a THD Hot plate for home playing with most amps. The JTM Studio is louder (20watts vs 5) and overall a much more versatile amp, but I would go for a JTM45 or bassman instead as they just break up a bit smoother. The cathode bias power section and SS rectifier in the ST20 hold it back a bit IMO.

Great video 👍🏻 same chassis scratching on mine as well, I checked a second one in my local store which looked the same. I also had an SV20H for a test drive a couple of months ago which had the same also. I’m thinking it has something to do with their manufacturing process, but it is really strange.

Charles , what happen if I connect the JTM 230V 50hz at 60hz here in America???

The frequency usually isn't the problem, but you need a step-up transformer to go from 120v to 230v that the amp is expecting, or get a tech to rewire the mains transformer in the amp (may not be possible if Marshall use different transformers for different countries; as it won't have the 120v winding / wires to make use of)
