@ oh believe me, as much as I was LOVE that, I highly doubt a comedy like blazing saddles could be made in today’s climate. But from your mouth to gods ears.
As I recall, "The Harder They Fall" also had a character they called Bass Reeves. I had high hopes but God it sucked to see him portrayed like that. I grew up in OK and everyone knew who Bass Reeves was. The best portrayal of Marshal Reeves was on a series called "Gunslingers." The problem with Hollywood is that his true story was far more remarkable than anything they could ever come up with. Suggest you check it out. Reeves was a black man and former slave. Expert marksman. Brave to the extent many considered him fearless. He was a US Marshal in the "Indian Territory (Oklahoma)." When he patrolled, by law he had to be accompanied by a native American guide. Many consider him the basis of the legend of the "Lone Ranger." Most of the famous lawmen of the era were only active for a few years. Reeves was a lawman for decades. He was illiterate and could not read. In spite of this, he never once got the wrong man. One fugitive shot at him while he was on his horse. Reeves unsheathed his rifle. While aiming, one bullet went through his hat. One hit his saddle and one clipped a button off his shirt. Under this fire, he dropped the outlaw at something like 100 yards. The bullets all landed within a hand-spread of each other. He never even flinched. One of the true bad-asses to ever live.
Many mysteries surrounding the San Saba Songbird remain. Like how did he keep his white duds so clean riding through the dusty Texas terrain? Did he stop at the Frenchman’s Gulch Suds & Duds before meeting up with Surly Dan? And what became of his horse Dan after Buster met his match? And so, the Ballad of Buster Scruggs goes on and on and on..
Love old henry they actually kept it real 6 shots reload the little things add up in a movie & why we warched itr 15 times Dam buster scruggs was also a fav the old miner a fav also
Three events were kills in self defense, one was "unnecessary", but still had to be done because the guy kept fumbling to reach for his iron. Buster seemed a bit like he wasn't all too keen on the duel as one of the few times you don't see him smiling is when he asks "Do you need a count" to Ike. He looks rather serious in that moment, knowing that he's just about to shoot someone currently emotionally distressed and afraid. Opting to take out his shooting finger first in clear hopes that it would end the duel right there, but since he doesn't fall over he takes the rest of them. It would still spare the man and give him a chance to train to become a leftie shooter. However he's not too distressed about having to kill him when Ike clearly goes for his weapon.. because now it has turned an unnecessary kill into a necessary one, which makes Scruggs turn into his usual, chipper behavior and no longer feeling bad about it. All it could take for Buster to be a wanted man, dead or alive, could possibly be that he wooed the wrong woman, or killed the wrong man. Someone under unlawful contract, but to people high on the pecking order. All in all I don't think Buster Scruggs was an evil man. His chipper attitude a result of having killed so many it became a protective shell. Not a good man by any means, but probably could make for a good friend. PROBABLY... or he could simply be an insane sociopath that kills if he gets bored, but is smart enough to pick the moments.. and never for money since that doesn't give him pleasure. But I doubt it.
Yup. If I remember correct, this movie was a long time in the making. But I don’t think they expected Buster to be as popular of a character. Or maybe they did. After all, they did name the movie… Fact is Buster needs his own film.
@@stevew1851 ok maybe I fluffed that one up a bit. But when you look it up, it reads; “Historically, some wanted posters offering a reward contained the phrase "dead or alive". Thus one would get a reward for either bringing the person or their corpse to the authorities. This could indicate that the person was an outlaw, and that it was permissible to kill them.”
Who WAS Buster Scruggs? ....wingin' his way on up to Heaven. Wonder if he ever got there? Maybe he found someone there with a brighter disposition .... nah.
@@jameshowland7393LOL! 😂 I totally get that. I’m the same way. But rest assured. It was written by a guy who really likes Buster. AI just hasn’t learned enough to recognize the name Scruggs.
After my cat watched Buster Scruggs shorts he asked me to get him the largest caliber hand gun a cat is allowed to own full body armor a jar of vasoline some condoms just by chance Buster might show at our shop. Poor Buster would be traumatized if her saw a cat actin that way. Besides I told my cat we got plenty of gear oil and 5w30 Mobil one in stock and rubber gloves. He can hide behind our scrap pile even a tank couldn't shoot thru a pile that big.
I was hoping and wishing they make a movie out of buster Scruggs that would be hilarious, come on somebody help me out here 😅🤣😂😎

This character doesn't need to be destroyed by Hollywood weirdos, those who follow will know the story.

Interesting video but the high-pitched background music (noise) made it difficult to understand the narration.
