Zone 09 is rock world and its an ice stage. And wood zone is supost to use metropolis zones theme. zone 03 is sand shower. Zone 06 is tropical sun/plant.
It's really cool to listen to the same songs I remember from Sonic 2, but re-imagining different levels that they were originally meant to be in as they're playing. I can definitely hear Oil Ocean's music making more sense in a desert-themed zone. It also answers that decades-long question regarding why the 2P mode has different music for Emerald Hill Zone, Casino Night Zone and Mystic Cave. It's because some of those are pieces of music that were meant for cut stages, but were already programmed into the game. xD ..... and of course, Hill Top always had the same music. No surprise there, lmao.
There's a duplicate of Hill Top in the ID list, noting there was a deleted track and that the first version falls into the secondary track. Hill Top uses this fallback ID, so that may not be the intended song for the zone 🤔
As stated in the video, Metropolis being the Wood Zone music was a mistake, more specifically a sonic 1 leftover. The ID the song uses is 83. Wood Zone's zone ID is 02. In Sonic 1, Marble Zone's zone ID is 02, and uses music 83. It is a Sonic 1 leftover.
I think the zone order in sonic 2 was sopost to be green hill, ocean wind, wood, sand shower, metropolis, tropical plant/sun, hill top, blue lake/blue ocean, rock world, rock world again, oil ocean, dust hill, casino night, chemical plant, cyber city 1, cyber city 2, and death egg. In the world map art there's no emrild isle, mountain madness, neo green hill, and hidden palace. In game neo green hill is in the spot of cyber city 2. Hidden palace is in the prototype. And there's a place called Olympus, idk what that zone is. Blue lake has the 2 player mystic caves theme, and emrilde isle, may of used neo green hills theme, and mountain madness used one of the three, 2 player casino night, I think unused 10, and idk hill top, dust hill, neo green hill.

Creo que la música beta de Oil Ocean es realmente la música de Genocide / Ciber City Zone, la pista n ° 06 Wood Zone y la segunda versión se puede escuchar de la música real de Oil Ocean es de Sand Shower
If Metropolis’ theme is mistakenly used for Wood Zone as well, do we know what theme would have been used for Wood Zone then or if it was ever even composed?
Actually mystic cave was never called dust hill it is named dust hill in the Simon wai prototype cuz it probably would be the slot for the dust hill and then they reused it for mystic cave but forgot to change the name
The September 14th prototype shatters that theory because they specifically made a Dust Hill title card for the zone in that proto which basically means it was a name for the zone.
@turbulation377 That's not it. That Title Card itself was a placeholder. Dust Hill, Green Hill and Neo Green Hill, all had their names and title card changed pretty quickly, so I personally don't believe that counts. But I also can't say what Mystic Cave was other than its concept being of a haunted house, and the mockup shows Dust Hill as a mountain site close to Oil Ocean on the Bad Present. I still don't know what Dust Hill was, probably they just reused the level slot, and made a spooky cave, and just for the og concept. The original Masa's melody didn't particularly suggest it was for a cave level or anything.
@@shyguy85 Sky Chase was not part of the original level plan, really it was a last minute addition. It's only up to speculation what the track was actually used for, but there's no concrete evidence on what it really was.
