    I used similar nylon Ripstop and learned the self-depricatingly painful way the lack of UV blocking properties of Ripstop Nylon. Was completely well-done on my top side. Switched to microfiber beach blanket for shibumi fabric and all good.

      Thanks for the tip. This one seemed to work well, I didn’t get burned and was under it most of the day.

      Why is it necessary to cut fabric into 3 sections that are then sewn together? Thanks.

      @@tpriego the fabric comes one yard wide so we have to cut it into sections and sews the sections together to get the width and length we need.

    How much was the width of your yards? Im trying to figure out all measurements. I only got 16' long per section, but not sure how wide are the panels. Thanks
    Update:
    Found out that the original Shabumi shade measures 17' by 9'. Hope that helps others. Don't forget your seam allowances!
    Thanks for the video.

      A yard should be 36” wide.

      I got ripstop material on Amazon that measures 5’x15’ so I sewed 2 panels together. Each 5x15 piece set me back $22

    • @efd
      @efd  11 месяцев назад +2

      it falls over, most beaches get a constant wind off the ocean.

    Are you able to see the ocean? It looks like it hangs into the vision line.

      When we put it up the wind was coming across that way. It changed direction as the day warmed up and came off the ocean. Great view for most of the day.

    where do you get the sticks that you had

      I had an old tent that had a long enough pole. Most of the bigger tents have long poles.
