We have one of these computers since 2014 and it still runs amazing. We upgraded the video card twice and increased ram to 32GB. We also added SSD's and it just runs like a dream. I think this Alienware will last another 10 years.
This is great news for me! I've started upgrades on mine recently. Worried about the new power supply installation I'll have to do so I might have a professional do it.
i literally found one on the street one night. i used a ps3 power cord upgraded the ram,os, ssd, wireless mouse and keyboard used a hdmi micro and hooked it up to my tv. im using it to make this comment right now. great find.
I saw one of this thing in my mom's office and was amazed that it was still up and running pretty well. Only the fans are loud so I guess its the pump that needs replacing?
I know I'm a few years too late, but it there any chance you might know how to get to the audio jacks on the front? They stopped working, and I wanted to try and replace/fix them.
I’ve had an R3 for about 5 years now bought it off craigslist for $450 (all original parts) upgraded the gpu to a Gtx 1050 ti FTW a few weeks after I got it. Popped in a 2 tb SSD, 1TB HDD and two 500 gig hdd. Just had to replace the aio last month bc the tubes started to fall apart, luckily nothing was damaged. Great case kinda crowded, really heavy and for the love of god I still haven’t found a way to take off the right side panel. Lmao not going to lie though one of the longest lasting PCs I’ve ever had. I’ll probably keep this for as long as I can. For nostalgia
i have a question to you, i have the r3 to with the originil motherboard and want to have a new grafikkard . Do you put the gtx 1050 ti on the original motherboard ? And can i put on the original motherboard a asus rtx 2060 too ?
@@xam7457 You probably can. You might need a new cpu if you haven’t got one already. The stock 2600k will probably bottleneck a RTX 2060. I’ve upgraded my 1050 to a 1660 and it runs fine.
My brother gave me this one but it has an i5 and two 545 but I wondering if I upgrade to a 3060 will it fit and will I be able to run my monitor on 240 hz cause rn it’s capped to 60 hz
i recently got a aurora r4 for cheap but its busted, can i put my motherboard into the aurora caase and use it as a case? where is the power pin connecter on these?
Yes you can, when you open it the placement will be very obvious, its basically a standard micro atx board, do be aware that you will have difficulty with the lighting, it might be possible to make it work, however, I gave up and never really tried
Some people claim I am wrong, but I found the lighting set up to be a little iffy on aftermarket boards, but if you dont really care about the lights I dont think you have any issues at all
Thats fucking funny, its one usb header to plug the lighting board into an aftermarket mobo and all you need is the alienware control center.. like any version of the software and it works…
I dont remember it being that simple, but it was a long time ago so, ok, if what you say works it works, if it doesn't it doesn't, what i remember is that I tried it and it was partially functional and that further research suggested it could be made to work but you needed some kind of registry hacks or something, but again I dont remember for sure, and to tell you the truth, I just didn't care enough to dig deeper regardless
@@dragonsystems5973 im sorry for that, did voice to text.. the f bomb was not supposed to be there. I can make a video or give you a step by step to get it set up, maybe take you 10ish minutes
You clearly miss the point. These are videos Im doing in the workshop when I am working with something I think there might be interest in. I could not make these videos if I had to put hours into editing. THIS IS NOT SAYING IM LAZY. I simply do not have massive amounts of time to divert from the actual work im doing here.

Key's Story the best thing to do is add a graphics card for real it makes the pc good I have one

Silly question guys has anyone got any case parts
its not really the type of thing people are going to hold onto parts for I dont think
Preparation is the key....and in this video there has been none.
Always someone who can do it better
Put some shoes on my guy.
Watch some of my newer stuff, this video is pretty old
This video could of been an easy 5-10 mins if you edited out all your non relevant stuff.
