Friday night footy is a great experiment for the AFL. I'd like to see them do it more often. In Perth it could easily be a regular thing, especially if Eagles and Dorkers are allowed to host away games in Perth against Victorian sides. The AFL should experiment and see if it works. Especially before the end of daylight saving (and the 3 hour time difference) it should be more regular as matches can be back to back. 3 hours difference means Melb can start at 7 and Perth can start 7.
Could Jai Culley just spend a lot of time on practicing handballing and marking pressure stab passes. Get elite at handballing and ball handling. The biggest drama may be with the mental I assume. You know how easy it is to do, how do you get your mind right in 12 months. Some work on getting the confidence and mental state for when you return would be good too. I think of when McGrath couldn't play for 12 months. He spent time with the bowling machine practicing batsman. It let to a significant improvement in batting. That's what Culley needs to think of. Becoming elite without risking injury while recuperating. Good luck.
