Fano SP6 Goldtop w/ Lollar Firebird & Tele '52 Pickups - Demo

The Lollar Firebird in the neck and Tele ‘52 in the bridge could be our favorite SP6 pickup combo yet. The Firebird is voiced big and open almost like a good single coil, but with a rounder attack and true humbucking qualities. The tone knob delivers delicious variations across 90% of its sweep… great snap and bite all the way up, smoky grind as you start to roll back, and warmer/jazzier tones from 60% all the way down to 10% before losing articulation.
The output of the Tele pickup matches the Firebird perfectly and delivers a refined twang with a tight bottom end. The middle position does exactly what makes the SP6 so special in our eyes and combines the unique characteristics of each pickup. The result is part single-coil, part humbucker, a mix of sparkle and girth. This may become your favorite clean tone position and maintains its signature shimmer and clarity even through moderate levels of overdrive.
